Outlaw 
She glanced up. Only a few more hours before that meeting. She was still debating wether to go or not. She pulled herself to her feet and found a different, more secluded and dark alley. She sat down in the darkest part of it wearily. 

Mason
 "No it's not," he forced out, his voice uncharacteristically broken and quiet. "It's not okay, Kaylee. I promised myself I wouldn't let this happen again but it is and- Please don't leave me, kid," Mason sobbed, pointlessly attempting to wipe away his tears as he broke.

Kaylee
"Mase." She murmured, grabbing at him because time be damned; even whatever stupid higher power that let her time from others seemed to know that her time had finally run out and there was nothing it could do as she gently (or at least, more gently than Mason had) wiped away his tears with the back of her hand, laughing as she felt her own eyes stinging. "Oh my god, you're going to make me cry too." In all her years, she could count the number of times she had seen Mason cry on one hand, and none of them were particularly pleasant. "Look, I know that this carries more finality than most times, but we'll be alright. I'll pop back up somewhere in the next, like, ten years because I've just been destined to hunt down Lionel for the rest of eternity - really, thanks to whoever thought up that idea - and he's already been gone for almost two years so he's basically due back at any moment. I'll turn up somewhere, find him and then come find you, alright?" She stopped her ramble to actually breathe, she didn't have the lungs like she used to. "I swear it." Her eyes wandered over to John, who's own eyes were glued to her machines, tracing the readings on screen for anything positive. ".....I do have one thing you could do for me, while I'm gone. If you're up to it."

Nyla
Jonah's parents were finally done browsing the shops. The two kids and their books skipped ahead of the adults who were laden with groceries. Jonah unlocked the house and they held it for his parents before scampering toward Jonah's secret room. Tugging their books behind them they crawled through the doorway. Jonah fumbled for the lamp and turned it on. They leaped into the beanbag and cradled their books in their laps. Nyla immediately flipped hers open to the first page so she could properly reminisce and enjoy the photographs. Jonah was still enthralled with simply the cover, displaying a simple black sky dotted with stars. Nyla held back a quiet sigh. The fact that something that used to be so commonplace had become nonexistent made her sad. Looking at her own book was bittersweet. The first picture was that of the Grand Canyon. Nyla had visited it several times and the picture didn't do it justice. She recalled one of her favorite trips to the canyon. She had been ten years old and her parents were kind people who loved to travel. It had been such a fun trip. And there were so many more good memories of this place. Some bad ones, too. She turned the page and smiled faintly at the ocean scene. It was taken from African shores. She remembered swimming in those waves, laughing with her friends. 

Ashwin
At some point he had drifted into a light sleep. The sputter of his transmitter woke him. He listened, but didn't move. Too far away. Ash glanced at the time to see he still had two hours before his next shift began. He had finished his apple and wasn't in the mood for another snack. The nap had been refreshing. He stood and took his plate to the sink, rinsing it off. 

Skye
Skye sighed as she checked for a meeting time and location. "Still a few hours. I'm going to go walk around for a bit, see what I can pick up."

Mason
 "Don't take too long," he muttered in what was intended to be a mock-bitter tone, but ended up just being a hopeless plea. "But, ah-," He stopped to wipe away the rest of his tears, "-What is it that you want me to do?"

Outlaw 
She glanced at the tasers she’d stole. She’d distribute them among people if she did end up on goin to that meeting. Which was like in.. two hours. Bummer. She sighed and pulled her knees to chest. See if she could get some sleep. 

Kaylee
"Look after John." She breathed, absently brushing (longer than than she was used to) hair from Mason's face, giving him a weak little smile. "Please. I know he'll look after you, but the same can't be said about himself." 

Mason
 "Why? So far all he's done is-...," He let his response remain without an end as his gaze slowly drifted to John. He let me in here. He let me see her one last time. I owe so much to this... stranger. He returned his gaze to Kaylee, giving her a small, determined nod.

Kaylee
Kaylee flashed him a grin. "Don't worry about it. Once he gets to know you, he'll love you." She glanced up as her heart rate monitor picked up, the beeping getting louder and more intense. "Turn it off, John. No-one needs to hear it." He opened his mouth to protest, but shut it again and turned the machine off, glaring at his sister. "...Wow. I haven't heard this much silence since I was administered in here."

Mason
 Mason didn't reply, his eyes fixated on the heart monitor as the screen went blank. He looked up at John, locking eyes with the taller male, silently begging for any kind of decent news even though he knew that that was a pointless wish. "You've really tried everything?," he asked in a tiny voice. Why are you asking this now? You've already been informed that she's gonna die. It's too late for stupid hope. Miracles don't exist, Mason. You learned that a long time ago.

Kaylee
"Everything." John mumbled, not even attempting to wipe away the few stray tears that trekked down his face, dull green eyes just staring back at Mason. "I'm alright, now." Kaylee sighed, leaning back into her pillow. "I don't even hurt anymore, anyways."

Mason
 He turned his head back in Kaylee's direction, blinking to clear his eyes. "When you're on your deathbed and suddenly stop feeling pain, that's probably not a good thing, Kaylee."

John
"....She asked for double her morphine." John mumbled, coming to stand beside Mason, rocking a sleeping Cosette more out of subconcious than anything else, just so he had something to do with his hands. 

Mason
 Mason cursed under his breath. "Of course she did. She's Kaylee. Never give her anything she asks for. It's most definitely dangerous." Not like that information will matter for much longer.
