Humanity First RP

Ashwin
He thanked them profusely and gave them a decent tip. The small security notifier he clipped to his utility belt. If something was off it would give a small beep and he could read the issue from a display. If he wished to view the security camera feed, he could do so with a certain button. Handy. Ash rinsed out his glass and set it aside. Now for some relaxation. He turned on some music that began playing throughout the house at a volume he had set - not too loud - and scanned his bookshelf. He selected a little mystery novel and settled in his favorite chair. The instrumental music playing was very well composed, and he listened to it a moment before opening the book.

Skye 
"So... he's a patrolman. And we both know what you do. Interesting turn of events. And speaking of, don't you have a meeting tonight?"

Ashwin
He started the novel and was instantly engrossed. He had picked up on a couple hints already, but wasn't sure if any were red herrings. Maybe all of them, since it was so early in the book. 

Skye 
Skye shrugged, taking another sip of her tea. "I have no idea. I'll go ask later tonight. Today's been... a rough day."

Ashwin
Ash closed the book, noting the page number. He needed to give his brain a break, too. He reentered the small kitchen and made a quick snack, a little warily despite of the locked doors and new security system. Munching on an apple dipped in peanut butter, Ash sat back down and simply listened to the music. 

Nyla
She led Jonah and his parents to the bookstore. They entered and she went directly to the right shelf, finding the space books and setting them out for Jonah. Jonah flipped one open and his mouth dropped open at the sight of an aurora borealis. "Woah," he breathed. He flipped through the three books, then scooped them up and looked at his parents pleadingly. "Can we get them?" Jonah asked. His parents smiled and consented, paying for the books. They asked Nyla if she wanted any and she glanced around. "Yes, please." She found a book, one filled with pretty pictures of oceans and water, of flowers and mountainscapes, all sorts of landscapes she missed dearly. 

Outlaw 
She turned off the phone. She then studied the tasers. She wondered how long it would take before they realized someone had taken a crate of tasers. If they looked on cameras hopefully they wouldn’t recognize her. The photo they had of her wasn’t very good so hopefully. 

Skye 
Skye sighed. "I need to sleep or something. Rebooting really messes with me." Skye set her cup down next to her and closed her eyes. She fell asleep quickly.

Nyla
They finished paying for the books and exited the small shop. Jonah was excited to start flipping through his space book, and Nyla was ready for some nostalgia and irritation at the present state of the world. But of course the adults wanted to extend the trip unnecessarily, and went shopping. Nyla and Jonah followed, Jonah complaining every once in a while. They ended up just sitting in the shops while the adults looked around and flipping through the books until they moved on.

Kaylee
"Mase..." Kaylee trailed off, showing more pity than either of them would have liked. "You should have come found us. We've been here the entire time."

Jacob
Jacob entered the hardware store and began shopping.

Mason
 Mason chuckled bitterly. "And have to explain my situation to a bunch of strangers? No thanks. As I said, I need a little while to get used to the time period before I can go around conversing with people I hardly know." He had been about to add something, but paused suddenly, visibly wincing as he felt time slip away from him, both metaphorically and literally. He tried to reclaim control of it, but the exhaustion from keeping it moving at an abnormal pace for so long caused time's normality to win. Everything seemed to speed up for a short moment - the universe was putting itself back into order after he'd made time pass slightly slower for... however long it had been. Mason muttered something under his breath, his hand instinctively going to his forehead as a splitting headache filled his head, his other hand tightening its grip on Kaylee's shoulder. He glanced over at John, panic and distress - two uncommon emotions for him - lacing his expression as he quietly informed the doctor, "That's all I can give her. I'm sorry."

Kaylee
John stared straight back with the exact same panic, jaw dropped to say something, but was cut off. "He's done all he can, Lawrence." Kaylee snapped, and he shut his mouth. "Let it be." She pat Mason's hand with finality and drew back, glancing over at the heart rate moniter to see it pulse fairly normally, like nothing was about to happen.

Mason
 "Kaylee, wait, no...," he started, following her eyes to the heart monitor. "It's fine. Nothing's wrong. You're fine," he insisted, although he knew that any second now, his best friend's life was going to come to an end, and he'd been unable to prevent it - Just like Johnny. Just like Joey.

Kaylee
"It's okay, Mase. It's okay." She hummed, scooping a sleepy Cosette into her arms. "Say hi to your mom for me, alright Coco?" The little girl nodded, and Kaylee passed her off into her brothers arms after a brief hug.

Jackie
Jackie scrolled through the forum, checking out the latest posts. She reached a notice that she had put up a few days before, and read over it again.
   
   To those against the unnatural rule of the Head, I have decided that to further our growth and communication, that we should meet up in person. The meet up will take place at the old dinner on fifth street at 10:00 PM this Thursday. Attendance is optional.

Jackie nodded to herself. Just a few more hours before she could finally meet some trust worthy people.
