Skye 
Skye nodded and went to a cupboard, also setting some water to boil.

Ashwin 
He thought over what he knew so far, but there wasn't quite enough to piece things together. He suspected foul play, but it could just as easily be forgetfulness. 

Skye 
While she waited for the water to boil, Skye sat down for a second. "She was fine this morning. I told her I'd be gone for a bit, so I don't think she went looking for me, even though I was gone a lot longer than expected."

Ashwin
"Okay." He noted that option as just about ruled out. "Any answers to the other questions?"

Skye 
Skye thought for a moment. "She couldn't be at the neighbor's because her stuff is here, and she went shopping yesterday."

Ashwin
"Could there be anything she might have forgotten shopping? Any family or friends she might have had to go rush to help?"

Skye 
Skye shook her head. "None of her family lives here, and Sylvia would have left a note if she had gone to see the neighbors."

Ashwin
"Okay." The kettle had started to whistle, so Ash took the liberty to pour a glass and hand it to Skye. "Do you have and want any tea? Or any other drink additives? Or do you just want water?"

Skye 
"There's a red packet in the cupboard by your head," Skye said, taking the cup.

Ashwin
He nodded and found the packet, handing it to her. After giving her a minute or so he asked, "What do you think happened to her, then?" He yanked a chair over and sat down.

Skye 
Skye emptied the packet into her drink as she thought, reluctant to voice her suspicions. "I wonder if... someone turned her in?" she said finally.

Ashwin
A frown tugged on the corners of his lips, his forehead creasing and his eyebrows drawing together in puzzlement. "...Turned her in?" Ash echoed.  

Skye 
"If my adventure today triggered a city-wide search for me, officials would be reviewing all past security footage for any leads to my whereabouts. If they somehow tracked me here, or one of those wanderers found out about the search, they would have the opportunity to turn Sylvia in for supposedly hiding a criminal, but-" Skye shook her head, taking a sip of her warm drink. "No. Nobody around here would do that... they all think I'm Sylvia's granddaughter. But then why-" Skye was cut off by the door opening. An old woman stood in the doorway, a slightly confused expression on her face. "Hello, dear. Everything alright?"

Ashwin
Oh, Ash thought as she talked, almost visibly relaxing. For a moment I was worried I was - His thoughts were interrupted and he turned slightly at the sound of door opening.

Skye breathed a sigh of relief as she recognized Sylvia. "They are now. Where've you been? You had me a little worried- no note or anything." Sylvia smiled apologetically. "I was notified of a record transfer and it was suggested I leave immediately to go finalize things," she said with slight amusement. "And who might you be?" The old woman turned her smile on the strange young man.
