World Of Strays - Role Play-

Colt & Spruce:

"Thanks for being so generous, really." he said thankfully. "We'll be on our way."
He said that, even though they really had no place they called their own. Spruce chose to wander and live freely in the woods, and he always followed her.
Once outside, he roused Spruce. They headed off, the late-evening sky giving off no light as they trekked through town, back into the woods.
Spruce sighed with relief, letting the cool leaves surround her.
Colt sighed regretfully; he wished he could stay in a warm home... Quincy's home would be great.

Karma

Karma wagged her tail and followed, she was glad the rain had stopped or the bed would have gotten heavier due to it would have been soaked. She smiled when Bailey had turned around and looked at them, she grateful that she was going at a slow pace so that they could keep up. "Why the porch can't you get in the house", it was something she had been thinking of for a while now. Since she was at the house you think she'd be able to get in it, that's what the humans do right they let us dogs in inside.

Bailey
"I can't get inside. I never was allowed in. I lived in my own little house in the backyard. It was warm and comfy, and Man came out to visit me every day." Bailey looked to the darkening sky. She was glad she lived close by. It was going to be a pitch black night. "You want to stay on the porch with me, Karma?"

Quincy
As soon as Colt and Spruce walked away, a hollow filled in the pit of Quincy's stomach. He sighed. Having Colt here had filled in the gap Miss Q had left when she had disappeared. He wondered if aliens had come and taken all the humans. He sighed again. He hoped not, because if not, they might come home again. His tail whipped in the air as he thought of Miss Q meeting Colt. She would like him. She might even be able to convince Spruce to come inside. She was nice like that. With a happy breath, he went in and laid down on his bed. He fell asleep as soon as his lids fell shut, dreaming of puppy days with Miss Q.

Colt & Spruce:

Colt watched Spruce weave gracefully between arching fern fronds and bush branches, heading deeper into the small, brush-filled woods on the outskirts of town.He sighed again, padding not-so-gracefully after her. She was a wild cat, he knew; she never wanted to experience humans again and was happiest in the wilderness. He, on the other hand, thought it was cold, lonely, and frightening out here. He also knew that, if he chose to live in town- possibly with Quincy -that she would be really sad. So he knew he couldn't leave her.
Spruce found a space under an oak root and curled up, partially covering herself in dead leaves. Colt joined her, shivering as a gust of wind blew past. He didn't enjoy this, but where else could he go? He could live with Quincy, but if the humans come back, Quincy's owner- Miss Q -might want to keep Colt, and then his owners would be sad... and spruce would be all alone...

Quincy
He lay in a nice soft bed, blinking huge eyes with awe at the human who had walked in. He had seen a couple siblings get picked, and he instantly knew that this human was the one he wanted to be his. He got up on his back paws, wagging his tail furiously. She reached down and picked him up, her blonde hair framing him. He licked her chin. Her brown eyes crinkled with laughter. She held him gently, taking him home. Now he was in his yard, an older puppy, playing tug-on-a-stick with his girl. She laughed, pulling gently. He gave a huge pull, and his teeth slipped. He tumbled over and sat in the grass, stunned. She reached down, laughing, and picked him up, cradling him until he felt better. Now he was running through the house, not yet an adult but adult size. He knocked over a lamp, clumsy as he was, trying to catch the Wunderball that had fallen out of his toy bin. She came in and saw the mess. Instead of growing angry, she called him, worried that he may have cut himself on the shards. As she picked up her paws, a black smoke whirled in. She began to deteriorate, becoming one with the smoke. She continued to pet him until she was gone, now just a puff of smoke. That, too disappeared. His human, his girl. Gone. Quincy woke with a start. The memories had been sweet. The end of his dream, Miss Q disappearing, wasn't true. He panted, feeling hot and queasy. Quincy padded into the kitchen and lapped up some water. Lots of it. That felt better. His ragged breath calmed. The happy dream had ended as a horrible nightmare.

Karma

Karma was shocked that she wasn't allowed in, she always thought they where they where let in. "Well at least he gave you some shelter" she thought about staying with Bailey for the night, she looked up it was going to get dark soon. She wouldn't be able to get to the place she had in mind before it got dark. "yea okay just fore the night though" it would give her a chance on getting to know Bailey more.

Bailey
They reached Bailey's house. She wagged her tail as she jumped onto the porch, sniffing it up and down like usual. She sniffed under the door, then let her tail droop. He wasn't here, like always. "Okay, put the bed..." she pondered a moment, then nodded at a spot next to the door, near the center of the porch. "That way rain won't make it wet." She set down the bowl and picked out Levi and Karma's stuff, giving it to them. "Okay, you can sleep here... I wish we had brought a bed for you." She turned to Levi. "Where do you live? I heard you say you live close by?"

Spruce:

Spruce snored softly, water droplets from the tree occasionally dripping onto her ears. As she got deeper into sleep, a dream started...

Spruce wailed as her owners left her in the shelter cage. She was young, and scared, and felt cheated. Her first human family had left her. She tried to escape the cage, but she couldn't. More humans came and went, some leaving animals, others taking animals with them. All of the animals Spruce had first saw were soon all gone, replaced with new animals. And then those slowly went away, and new ones filled their cages. She was the only one not eventually adopted. Years passed.
"I'm going to die here!" she wailed, locked up alone in the tiny cage with barely any food, growing older by the day.

Her head shot up. Spruce gasped, fighting for air. It was all a dream. It hadn't really ended that way in real life. She had escaped the shelter. She hadn't been trapped for years on end until she died!
Spruce couldn't go back to sleep. She lay awake, shaken by her dream. Never again will I trust humans. Never...

(mine have refs now... oh boy... Spruce (she has no orange on her; it's suppose to be brown; but that's the best I could do) & Colt... you can use the site I used to make them here)

Whip
The carpeted stairs seemed to go on forever, yet ever step Whip climbed filled her with more curiosity. Finally, the stairs ended. Whip let her aching paws rest for a moment, then ventured down the hallway. The walls surrounding her were lined with doors. Whip tried nudging one of the doors open, but she found that it was completely closed. She continued, eyeing every door to see if it was open. Then, she saw one that was. A door that was barely open caught her eye and she gently nosed the smooth wood. Slowly, it opened and Whip bounded inside. The room was small, consisting mainly of a bed with a dresser beside it, a small, silver box with a handle, and a thin, black rectangle that Whip had often humans stare at for hours, their faces bathed in harsh light.

Karma

Karma dropped the bed where Bailey wanted it, she looked at the sky it would get dark pretty soon now. "It's fine I'm used to sleeping on the floor" half the time she was on the floor anyways, she looked to Levi "that's you did say hat you lived close by". She sat down, she might as well get comfortable here since she's going here for the night.

Ace

Ace sighed and got up, he didn't want to be in the game room anymore. He decided to go the kitchen and see if there was food there, there probably was but he wanted to make sure. He down a hallway that lead to two double doors, he got on his back legs and pushed them open. He could smell food everywhere, he went to a long table putting his front paws on it. Sniffing around he accidently knocked something over, it made a loud bang as it hit the floor.

Bailey
She nodded at Karma and pushed the bed around a little bit. She stepped on and began to get comfortable. "This is so soft."

(refs: Quincy and Bailey. Bailey is based off of this image, found on Google... that image is basically Bailey irl... I'll try and get you a picture of the real life Quincy, living with the real life Miss Q, who is a Mrs. irl)

Karma

Karma slid down to a laying position, she smiled "glad you like it". She looked out to the yard, it was getting dark now. It was quiet she should get use to it, but she misses the sound of the cars the humans drove in.


(Ace and Karma every seemed to be making refs for their characters so I thought I might as well too, tried to make them as I saw them :D )

Whip
Clamping her jaw onto the handle of the sliver box, Whip opened the box. The inside of the box was cold, making her shiver. As Whip peered into the box, she saw that it was full of bags of food and colorful cans. She reached in and pulled out a small, paper box that smelled of meat. She ripped it open and found it was full of cooked chicken. Whip wolfed it down, finding it to be covered in a pleasantly spicy sauce. Whip was startled from her peaceful meal by a large crash from beneath her. Her paranoid mind raced as she thought of what that could have been. Had another dog or cat gotten into the building? Or a wild animals? Had the humans returned? Whip anxiously scampered down the stairs to see what had happened.
