Wes

"I saw it too."

In the dim lighting, it was hard to tell what they were seeing. It could've been Luna, but it might've been something else. Maybe Luna's rabbits were following him. Or her hedgehog. Or something else Luna summoned. It was hard to tell with her.

A sigh escaped his lips. "I'm had enough adventure for today. Let's get out of this place." Wes stood up and offered a hand to Alex.

Alexa

Alex took his hand as she stood up, but dropped it as soon as she was on her feet. She didn't want to seem clingy, or for him to think that she liked him in that way. He was a nice guy, but Alex had her own problems to deal with before she could even think about friends, let alone a lover.
"I agree, but I want to know where Luna ran off to. I don't trust her. I wish I could tell you that I don't care, but let's be honest - if I didn't care, I wouldn't have followed you here to begin with."

Wes

Alex's hand felt strange in his. The moment he released her hand, his felt clammy and he wiped them on his jeans, hoping she wouldn't notice.

What was it she had said? I wouldn't have followed you here to begin with.

"I think I was the one that followed you," Wes said, thinking of chasing after her in the tunnel, and then realizing that she probably meant she wouldn't have followed him from class. Duh.

The musty smell of the old room made him want to sneeze. He peered into the darkness, trying to see if that was, in fact, Luna that caused the small dust cloud. "I don't want to leave her," he said, "but we wouldn't have been in this mess if it wasn't for her. She obviously knows her way around this place. And besides, if we could find our way out, we could get help."

Wes realized he probably sounded like he didn't care what happened to Luna. He sighed. "All I'm saying is if we go looking for her, we have to stay together. No more running off into mysterious doors and getting lost in tunnels. That goes for the both of us."

Alexa

"Alright, it's a deal. We stick together and try to avoid things that look like they belong in a horror movie. Got it," the shorter girl agreed, giving Wes a lopsided smile and a thumbs-up before heading in Luna's direction; her headphones fell back around her neck as she picked up her pace. She wasn't as optimistic as she let on, but she tended to phase from one emotion to another in a matter of minutes anyway, so it wasn't like she was acting out of the ordinary... at least, not out of her ordinary.

Wes

Something told him that Alex wasn't being one hundred percent serious. Maybe it was the sarcasm or the two thumbs up? He shook his head and smiled. Some humor in this dungeon wouldn't do any harm, as long as they didn't get too carried away.

He followed Alex, his mind wandering. Things that look like they belong in a horror movie. Remembering the rat he came across in the tunnel, Wes shuddered. They just had to find Luna and get out.

Alexa

Alex walked through the dimly-lit room, her feet kicking up dust. Sure, the lights had come back on somehow, but they weren't very bright, and shadows still seemed to surround her in every direction. She almost tripped over her own two feet as she stumbled to a stop behind a girl who was collapsed on the floor. Luna... Luna!, Alex screamed in her mind, before hesitantly shouting, "I found her!"

Luna

Luna had recovered, and stood up. "Let's get out of here," Luna said weakly. She started walking up the stairs, making sure Wes and Alexa followed her.

Wes

Luna seemed...drained. There's was something off about her, and Wes couldn't quite put his finger on it. "Are you okay?" he asked.

She led the way as Wes and Alex followed. Wes kept glancing sideways at Alex, making sure she was still with them, or at least that's what he told himself. He wondered if he noticed the difference in Luna. 

Luna

"I'm fine,"  Luna said, trying to sound convincing, but knowing it wasn't working. She needed to rest. She quickly sank down on the floor.

Alexa

"Well, obviously you're not," Alex told the weak girl dryly. "Look, I have no idea what happened, but Wes and I have agreed that we need to get out of here, and you're coming with us."

Luna

Luna had a few options. She could try walking out, knowing that she would faint. But she couldn't stay here. It was dangerous, she might have to fight again, but this time, really fighting. She could also let Alexa and Wes carry her out, since she was light and it would be no problem. But Luna didn't want to. She wanted to walk out herself. But she couldn't get up. "I can't," Luna said. "I'll faint."

Alexa

Alex sighed. "Alright, but while you're on the ground, do you mind telling us what happened to you? You look sick, but I doubt that's what's wrong," she asked, running a hand through her messy hair.

Luna

"I'm not human," Luna managed to say. "But I was thrown out of the magical realm. My own kind threw me out. And if we don't get out of here soon, their king will come back and kill me. But I can't walk. So it's either you leave me here, and I die, or you guys carry me out. Your choice." Luna didn't really care which choice, since her kind was immortal, and she would escape them easily. But she didn't have much time before they came back-this time all of their soldiers.

Alexa

Alex looked at Wes. "Well? What do you think we should do?" she asked him. We're gonna get her out of here, I guess, she mused silently. "Why should we trust you?" she added, looking down at Luna this time.

Luna

Luna narrowed her eyes. "And why should I trust you?" she said. "You know what, there's no time. Just leave me or take me! If they kill me, I can come back. You two can't. I can already sense them coming!"
