The Forgotten Herd [all animal rp, no sign-ups]

A dark, black jaguar lounged on a branch that a blue wolf had just walked under. Oh, a friend, she thought, carefully dipping the branch down, she landed directly behind the canine with a thump. Circling her, the panther laughed. "Oh, lost?"

Crimson's head turned to look behind her, she was watching a butterfly flitter across the open sky, floating along the breeze. She had no knowledge of any other animals around her that she couldn't see.

Shadow trotted up the hill, figuring that the filly would join her up there shortly. She laid down calmly, letting the wind blow through her black fur.

River Falls
River halted and peered at the cat. "No." Her voice was small but not timid. Though shy, she refused to show fear. She wasn't afraid, just a shy and not talkative wolf. "I am fallowing my instincts."

"What instincts?" Jade snapped. Her dark fur bristled. "Instincts would be to stay with a pack!" She spat, "Not to follow the wind towards two horses and a wolf who call themselves a family." The lather growled and leaped over the wolf, heading back to her tree.

Amber

Amber walked long keeping p with the wolf. Her little hooves moved fast as she trotted. Her legs ached but she didn't care she had to keep going. She fought the pain as she strainer up the hill.

River Falls
River growled back, spinning to face the cat. "Pack? My pack was wiped out by illness." River's anger boiled now. "And if you're going to pick on wolves that wander through, maybe take a walk in their fur first!" Her fur bristled as she glared at the dark blot. Spinning, she took off at a random direction, away from all the scents. This is why I stay away from animals, she thought bitterly. No one cares to ask why I'm alone. "I think I'll just make fun of this little wolf walking through." Her teeth bared as she thought of the haughty cat's actions. As she walked away, her anger quickly died. Her fur settled and her bared teeth closed only to be replaced by tears. I want a pack, the skittish wolf thought. I want one that is kind, unlike my old one. A loving family of wolves. She hadn't gone far from her encounter with the cat before sitting in the leaves.

Snowy heard the leaves crinkle, snapping her attention to that area, her ears pricked. "Hello?" She called out softly, she wasn't afraid but she didn't want to frighten whatever it was. Her white fur had black stripes through it, giving her position off, though she wasn't trying to hide at all.


Shadow paused and look back at the foal. "Hey, you all good there?" She had a worried look, the Foal seemed to be straining herself.

Crimson look towards Shadow's direction, but remained silent.

Crow a black dire wolf with dark blue eyes trotted through the forest heading toward the clearing not caring if any saw him or heard him, as he entered the clearing he saw the dire wolf and the horse together which was odd to him since where he had come from it was a very unlikely pare, he stared at them both before continuing to cross the clearing

River looked up, hearing something large moving through the woods. Near the clearing where the other wolf scent had come, with the horses. River Falls glimpsed a large black wolf and shrank down in the leaves, cringing when the crinkled loudly. Yes, she wanted a pack, but she was still her shy self.

Crow stopped at the sound in the leaves turning he searched where he heard the sound, his eyes stopped on the wolf trying to hide in the leaves he stepped forward " hey what are you doing" he said confused on why she would try to hide from him.

River looked up, her heart beating fast. Stop, she reprimanded herself. Get over your shyness. Still it was hard for her to calm her heartbeat. "I was walking through," she answered simply. She sat up straighter, consciously giving her blue fur a lick. This wolf was huge. A dire wolf? she thought nervously.

Crow looked at her he had never really seen a wolf with blue fur before it was different and he liked it " I'm Crow what's your name" he walked over and sat in front of her as he spoke his tail slightly wagging.

Shadow looked towards the other big wolf, "Go ahead and go by Crimson, little one. I'll be back shortly." She said to the foal, before padding over towards the other dire wolf. "Hello there, can I um, help you..?"

River relaxed when the big wolf sat. He seemed pretty nice. "River Falls," she replied to his question. "I go by River." For some reason, she had expected him to be mean and territorial. But he wasn't what she expected at all. At least, not so far. His wagging tail gave her another hint that he was friendly. "Where are you from?" she asked hesitantly, hoping not to upset Crow.

Crow still wagging his tail answered " nice to you meet you river I'm from up north in the mountians." he was happy that she hadn't ran off like some wolves do they always assume that he was mean and tough when he really just wanted to make friends " what about you where are from?"


Crow looked over at the sound of the voice, he looked at her surprised to see another dire wolf since he hadn't seen one in awhile " no I'm just talking to friend of mine" his eyes went to her then to the horses " why are you traveling with a horse I've never seen a wolf travel with another kind of animal"
