Shadow shrugged, "Well, Crimson and I grew up together. Both of us lost our parents at a young age. As for the foal, well I've come to have a heart for Horses and this foal lost her mom and is hurt, so, I was just gonna be nice and help the lil' one out." Shadow chuckled, "As a pup and foal, me and Crimson made a promise to stay by one another sides."

Crow turned his attention back to the dire wolf "oh well I suppose that explains it, I've never really meet any horses that would go near a wolf,I'm Crow by the way" as he was looking at her he thought I wonder how they meet in they first place.

River smiled softly as she waited for Crow to finish speaking with another dire wolf. She had cringed a little when the female had padded up but relaxed. In a pause in the two's conversation, she answered Crow's question. She liked Crow. He was nice - a lot nicer than she had first thought. "I'm from the east. I lived in a large evergreen forest." She ended it there, not wanting to say too much about her past. Maybe not yet. He hadn't said much. She suddenly became curious as to why he didn't have a pack either.

Crow turned back to River " that sounds a lot nicer then where I came from since there aren't many trees in the mountain" he smiled he really liked River " so why are you alone I would think that you would have a pack of your own. I don't since my mother had been a lone wolf" he wasn't sure if what he said would make her want to leave or not, he could understand why she'd keep quite about her pack.

River swallowed. She intended on answering Crow. "Illness came. I was the only one to not catch it. Those that did never recovered." She bent her head and stared at the leaves. This always made her uncomfortable. "My pack was a good pack," she went on slowly, "but strict in every way. They weren't kind and loving, associating in a businesslike way. Disobedience and rule breaking was punished harshly." She looked up, a gleam in her eye. "Though I miss the security of a pack and mourned the loss of family, I feel free now." She looked down quickly, ashamed of her outburst.

Crow didn't know what it was like to be in a pack but he did know what it was like to lose someone he loved, " I'm sorry to hear that" he nudged her softly to get her look at him "I don't really have any idea where I'm going but your more then welcome to come with me if you want that is" he smiled as he spoke.

River looked up at him when he nudged her. He was nicer than any wolf she had ever met. "I..." she hesitated. Why would he offer that to her? They had just met! "I'll go." Her mind made up, she decided to go with the kind wolf. "I don't know where I'm headed either." She thought a moment. "South, maybe?" She thought of the warmth the south would offer. She had heard tales of hidden lakes and waterfalls in the south, peaceful groves where all was well.

Crow stood up wagging his tail " sure just anywhere not towards the mountains" there was to many memories up in the mountains for him to face and he didn't want to talk about it quite yet, " we can head out either today or wait until tomorrow what do you think" he was excited to finally have someone to travel with.

River Falls tilted her head, looking southward as she contemplated. She looked to the sky. There was plenty of light left. "Let's start now." She ducked her head, embarrassed. "If that's okay?" Still shy, and with her pack's rules embedded in her, it was hard to speak her mind or give direction. She told herself that Crow didn't seem the sort to get angered at things like that. Mother didn't seem the sort, either. But she was. The reminder to herself made River feel glad she was moving away from the place of mourning. Mother would be proud. She told me she loved me... before it took her. River stopped her thoughts and looked to Crow to see what he thought.

Crow thought for bit before his stomach growled "oh well I think first maybe we should find something to eat I'm starving" he hadn't eaten in over half a day "but after that if there's still light left we can" he looked at River to see what she thought his tail still slightly wagging.

River didn't need to think about that one at all. Her stomach grumbled at the mention of food. "Let's eat," she said, giggling. "I know a stream where huge fish swim. It's not far at all." She stood and shook the leaves from her fur before padding off.

Crow followed not far behind licking his lips at the thought of a meal " do you know how to catch fish because I don't, I've never even had fish before but I'm more then willing to try it" he could picture a wolf trying to fish and it just made him chuckle, he would never had thought of fish for a meal.

River Falls giggled. "Yes, I know how. I lived by a river with a waterfall. Hence my name." She fell into giggling again. "It's quite simple if you know how. Beginners sometimes fall in." She laughed, picturing Crow floundering in the water, soaked.

Crow turned his head looking at her as he spoke " what so funny, it cant be that hard to catch a fish" as he was talking he wasn't paying attention to where he was going and ran straight into a tree. "OUCH, ok this is why I don't walk and talk at the same time" he rubbed his snout with his paw.

Ishea

A blur of darkness, a wolf as black as night darted through the forest. She licked her lips with a desperate hunger, her stick-thin body showing her ribs. Ishea came from the meadows, an abandoned orphan always different from her strict pack. She learned how to survive by herself, and vowed to never trust another wolf again. Ishea ran from them with her cousin, who died along the journey to the forest. The rogue came across a waterfall, and dashing into a cave behind it, started to hear voices.
