The Forgotten Herd [all animal rp, no sign-ups]

Crow wagged his tail as he started toward the pond "maybe we'll meet someone else along the way" he wouldn't be to surprised if they did, he stopped and turned back smiling he looked at her 'well are you coming".

River harrumphed dramatically, then stood and flounced after him. "Are you coming, is the question." She took off speeding through the woods towards the pond she had glimpsed earlier. She stopped suddenly, nose to the air. "Crow," she whispered, "someone else is here."

Crow ran after her and nearly ran into her when she stopped so suddenly, he to raised his nose and turned his toward the pond " its coming from the pond, come on". He wasn't about to be scared off by another animal no matter what it was, so he started toward the pond again his head raised high to show that he wasn't weak and about run away.

River followed, but with a totally different demeanor. Her ears were laid flat, her tail tucked in, and her body was already slightly shaking. Her eyes scanned the area in a terrified way. She relaxed when she saw Crow's demeanor, but she still was nervous. What sort of creature would it be? What if it was a dire wolf, bigger than Crow?

He continued elsewhere, growing bored of the surroundings. He trailed next to the pond's shore, sniffing around and checking out what else this land offered him. He remained on guard as he did so, never allowing his tail to fall downwards as it swayed from left to right. Every now and then the pads of his paws would touch the water's edge, the muddy shore making himself more brown than white. He lowered his nose, ears twitching to nearby creatures. The scent of other wolves still haunted his nose, he knew they were not far from him, but he was sure they wouldn't interact with him. Occasionally, he would bring his snout up and look in the direction the scent was coming from.

Crow could tell by the way River held herself as they went toward the pond that she scared and unsure about this, he was glad that she relaxed a little he wasn't going to let anything happened to her. He soon spotted the silvery colored wolf near the shore of the pond, he slowed to a walk as he approached the male from the side. He wasn't about to approach from behind he didn't want him to think that he would attack him for no reason, " hey, are you lost or something" he stopped by him waiting for a reply.

He lifted his head once more, this time noticing a figure of a wolf. He watched as he came nearer, spotting the same female he had seen a while back behind him. He flicked his tail in curiosity, though as he studied the male, he knew he couldn't win if he tried to fight. He wasn't healthy like the stranger was and outnumbered even if he was. He did the best he could to not show the lack of strength he carried by standing taller on his warn paws. He perked his ears as the male spoke to him and shrugged, "Just a wanderer, I didn't realize I was on another territory." The best he could do was not provoke. Swallow your pride, save it for another day. His brown and blue eye looked into the male's, not allowing himself to miss one detail of the stranger's actions.

Crow kept his head held high "well I wouldn't say its ours, I haven't really been here that long" he looked over the wolf he didn't seem to be the type to start a fight but he thought it best to still be on his guard looks can be deceiving after all. "so, how long have you been here and where did you come from", he was curious to get know this wolf seeing as by the looks of him he's been traveling for awhile.

"Two days now. The pond was calling my name," He was sarcastic as he nodded over to the pond, a chuckle rumbled in his throat. He wasn't ready to completely talk about himself to this wolf whom just as well be his foe than friend. "I came from up in the mountains," from the corner of his blue eye he could still see the faded snow capped mountains. They are far far from here now. He was vague when he spoke, wondering if the dire wolf actually cared where he was from or how long he had been in the area. "Ya know, I'm not one for small talk," he said with a smirk. It was better to be upfront anyways.

Crow had slightly relaxed, so this wolf had come from the mountains just as he had but even so the distance hadn't been that bad at least not for him anyways. "yea I get it you don't want to talk to a strange wolf about yourself, oh I almost for got i'm crow whats your name". The fact that he had come from the mountain made him wonder if he had a pack once or if he'd always been alone and if he did why wasn't he with them now.

"Cylo," He said, relaxing himself as he felt the air become easier to breathe through once more, "Nice to meet you Crow." He was sure the wolf known as Crow was curious about him as was he. He guessed Crow came from the same place he did, but he wasn't so sure of his past. He was intrigued in the dire. "Are you within a pack?" He asked, knowing that if there was a pack around, he would have to head away at least until he was healthy and well enough to fight for his own. From what he scented it was just Crow and that female, but he had to be sure before he settled down around these parts and fed off the smaller animals. He felt as if nosey when he asked, if he was stronger and didn't doubt himself like he was he wouldn't even second guess asking a question such as that.

"its nice to meet you as well and no its just the two of us" he looked toward the waterfall, him and River had come here to see if there was a cave nearby so maybe there was one behind the water fall. He started toward the rushing water "come on River lets check out the waterfall" he padded over not looking back.

River didn't follow Crow. "Nice to meet you, Cylo. Crow, he might live there." She turned back to the strange wolf, a bit nervous but knowing that Crow was right there. "If you live behind the waterfall we won't go there."

Crow turned back, "I hadn't thought of that" he went back to stand by River and looked at Cylo. even if he didn't live behind the waterfall by the way he looks he probably should have the cave, besides if there was one the rushing water would make it hard to fall asleep.
