Torpid Void

Ace
Ace looked up at the door, calling "Come in" wifhout getting up.

Louis
Louis pushed the door open and leaned on the doorway, trying to look casual but actually still not quite steady on feet. "Are you okay? Also, where can I get more water?" 

Ace
Ace nodded, examining Louis. "In the kitchen... from the faucet.... like any normal house."

Mason
 He took a quick drag on his cigarette, blowing the smoke into the air around him and watching it dissipate before responding. "Mason. Kind of glad that you don't recognize me."

Louis
"How would I know what's normal? I've only been here for a couple hours." Louis walked back to his chair and grabbed his cup, figured out where the kitchen was, and went in to get some water.

Ace
"Oh, excuse me for trying to figure out what 'normal' is to you," Ace snapped, abnormally harshly.

Louis
"Chill out, man. You're the one who made it sound like I was an idiot for not knowing there was a faucet in the kitchen. Anyway, if I'm too much of a problem I'll head out. I'm feeling better now." Louis turned the water off and downed about half the glass of water.

Ace
Ace got off his bed and went out into the kitchen. "Seriously, if you keep this up they're gonna kill you. And really, you're in no shape to go anywhere."

Louis
"It's honestly a wonder I'm still alive," Louis muttered to himself. He tended to get himself into sticky situations. "What did I do this time? I didn't realize talking was against the law here."

Ace
"It basically is," Ace muttered, crossing his arms and sighing. "It's how you talk."

Louis
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "What's wrong with how I talk?" 

Ace
"You're just too snarky," Ace replied. "I'd let you talk how you want, but I'm also trying to save your skin"

Louis
Louis shrugged. "That's unfortunate. Sorry, but you're not going to be able to turn me into this perfect little citizen." 

Ace
"I'm not asking you to be a 'perfect little citizen', I'm just telling you to act like it. At least until I get you out."

Louis
"I've always been a terrible actor, but I guess I can try. Don't expect wonders, though." Louis finished his water and turned to fill the cup up again.
