Torpid Void

Louis
He shuffled submissively between the two, head down as his eyes traced the ground. Their grip on him loosened a little as they walked, thinking his behavior meant he had given up. They thought wrong. Louis suddenly jumped forward, wrenching himself out of their grip. Instead of running away, however, Louis dashed straight at the male authority figure. Taken by surprise, the man didn't know what to do. Louis swerved out of the way at the last second, turning on his heel to see what he had expected to. The woman was running for him. He dodged her, tripped her, and then danced out of the way of the rock thrown at him by the man. Now that they were further in town, there were more people, which was not great for Louis. He decided now was a good time to get out of there and sprinted down the street. Someone jumped out from behind... some sort of box just as Louis came up to it, and, before Louis could react, slammed a bottle onto his head. Louis crumpled to the ground, vision going black for what was maybe two seconds. He wasn't knocked out, but was now completely out of it and dazed, his vision swimming in and out.

Ace
Ace looked back up when he heard the comotion, watching the guy fight with the authorities. He was mildly surprised, considering most people who got sent here learned pretty quickly to not go against authority. He sighed quietly after it was "done" and just sort of stared at everyone.

Louis
"Well, that settles that," somebody chuckled as Louis was yanked to his feet. This caused his vision to go black again. He was being pulled along before his vision had completely cleared up, stumbling between two people who were the only reason he was even standing at the moment. Louis wasn't exactly sure what was going on at the moment, mainly concerned with the pain in his head and the fact his mind was cloudy and all jumbled. 

Ace
Ace put down what he was doing, getting up with a groan and jogging over go the half-dead guy and the two others holding him. He hadn't ever tried something like this before- mainly cause he'd never seen something like this happen, but he figured everyone here knew enough about him to, worst case scenario, say no. Once he caught up, he went in front of one of the peoples dragging the helpless male, facing him and walking backwards so he wouldn't get trompled. He glanced at the somewhat unconscious boy, then focused his attention back on the dude. Im gonna die... finally, yay. Ace smiled his all-too familiar stupid smile, then proceeded to talk. "I was thinking. He-" he waved his hand in Louis' direction, "-well, he's obviously new. And doesn't know much. Maybe, just maybe, I could... teach him the basics. And if he proceeds to act like a jerk, then I will hand him back over?" 

Louis
"I'm not the jerk here," Louis mumbled, his words slurring together slightly. One of the people carrying him, the one Ace wasn't talking to, gave him a light smack on the head, not enough to really hurt him but enough to spiral his vision back into black. "Shut up," the authority instructed. Louis' response was muttered gibberish. The man Ace was talking to thought a moment, then pulled to a stop. "Yeah, sure. We'll send people over at least once a day to check in. If you try anything you're in some pretty deep trouble." The two let go of Louis, watching him fall to the ground with amused chortles. Louis swore in French under his breath, though it was barely audible as he drew even closer to unconsciousness. 

Ace
Ace watched the authorities leave, then looked down at Louis with mild concern. He bent down next to him. "I didn't mean that literally," he muttered, offering to help him up.

Louis
"Give me a second." Louis waited until his head cleared up a bit and he could see again. "Why are you helping me?" Louis asked, slowly getting into a sitting position on his own. 

Ace
"Don't ask- you might make me reconsider my actions," Ace mumbled, hoping nobody could really hear them.

Louis
He sighed and finally accepted Ace's help, getting to his feet a tad shakily. I think I need to sit down somewhere. 

Ace
Ace helped him up, standing next to him and looking around. "Well, I guess you can hang out at my place until you regain your senses."

Rowan 
Rowan pushed up his glasses. "Rowan. You?"

Louis
"That'd be appreciated. I wasn't sure if you even would have a house in this division. I don't really know anything right now, actually," Louis managed to mutter. "Do you have water at your place? I'm feeling lightheaded." 

Ace
Ace nodded. "I've been in this division for about two years so... I figured out how to survive. Do you need help walking?" 

Louis
"I'm fine." That wasn't really true, he obviously wasn't, and he actually didn't know if he'd be able to walk, but he would just to be stubborn. "Two years? When Aerow told me I'd be coming here, I thought it was a temporary punishment place." 

Ace
"It is, I just got stuck here cause I'm no good for anyone," Ace replied with a shrug. He started walking towards his place, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Louis was following.
