NYC High School

Margot
She didn't realize Mason was talking to her at first. After nobody replied she glanced up and muttered a surprised, "Oh, me." Em smiled. "I'm fine." Tim came over and slumped into the seat across from Em. She knew one of his friends worked here and had seen him sneak into the back to talk to him after getting his milkshake. Em went back to work on her ice cream, not wanting to be the one to make everyone wait (she often was, thanks to being a slow eater).

Mason
 "No you're not. You're debating with yourself about something. Probably." Mason shifted slightly, quickly wiping some ice cream off of his nose. "Just an observation."

Margot
She licked her ice cream again before responding. "Yeah, I am. But that doesn't mean I'm not fine." Tim looked up from reading the fine print that was stamped on his styrofoam cup. "So what's up?" Em swallowed the ice cream currently on her tongue and nibbled at the waffle cone a bit. "I was wondering if you'd be able to drive Louis to my grandparent's later. I, uh, I have a shoot later today. If you can't that's fine, I'll just have to leave earlier." Tim's eyes narrowed slightly. "...I thought you stopped modelling." "Well, um, not exactly? But I -" "Em, what the heck? Why? What if something happens again? How long have you been doing this? You don't have to model anymore now that - you're not still talking to Liam, right?" Em sighed. "I haven't even seen him since then. I switched agencies. They're really nice and I only do what I'm comfortable with. I like modelling, T." He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "Just... be careful, okay? I'll drive Louis to your grand-folks'." Em caught some melting ice cream before it could slip down the cone. "I am. And thanks." She paused, remembering Mason was there, and shot him an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that. You can sit down if you want to."

Kahlen 
"We can sit down if you want, Kahlen murmured, glancing at the clock. Denver'll be home in an hour or so.

Auberon
"Whatever you want to do is fine with me," Auberon murmured, closing his eyes momentarily, then opening them again.

Mason
 He shook his head, not moving from where he was. "I'm good." He licked his ice cream again, trying to make it seem as though he wasn't incredibly curious about the answer to the question he was preparing to ask. "What's the deal with that Liam dude?"

Margot
Em glanced at Tim and then looked at the table, focusing on eating her ice cream. "Em met Liam in the summer before school started last year. They became friends, and we all hung out for a bit. He was kind of shady and I always got a weird vibe from him but Em didn't pick up on it." Tim drank some of his milkshake before continuing. "Maybe halfway through the school year he told her she should try modelling and got her a job working for this small agency that he happened to work for as well. He would drive her there after school and take her home when they were done for the day. She didn't go every day, but pretty often." Tim paused to sip at his shake. "Anyway, one day I texted her when she would normally be home to see if she and Louis wanted to go out to see a movie that had just been released. She didn't respond, which was unusual for her. I tried calling her several times. I drove out to the building to find they were closed. On a hunch, I went to Liam's house. His car was there but it seemed nobody else was home. Em's phone was on the front seat. I ran inside -" his eyes darted to Em and he decided not to go into too much because he knew she didn't really enjoy this topic. "- And Liam had cornered and assaulted her. I got there before anything major happened, fortunately."

Mason
 He listened to Tim intently, gaze hardening more and more as the boy continued on. When he was done, Mason shifted, subconsciously positioning himself slightly closer to Em in what might have been a protective way. "I can tell you what I would've done," he said, voice just short of a growl. "I would've snapped his neck. Where is this dou- kid?"

Margot
"I pressed charges. He plead guilty. I don't know where he is now," Em replied quietly. She had passed the halfway point of her ice cream while Tim had - thankfully - told what had happened for her so she didn't have to. Em bit off a large-ish (for her) piece of waffle cone, just waiting for this conversation to be over.

Kahlen 
Kahlen studied Auberon for a second before grabbing his hand and dragging him around to sit next to her on the couch. Someone has to take the initiative here. "So, what have you been up to the last week or so, excluding camp?"

Auberon
Auberon was taken off guard ever so slightly, and then the next moment he was on the couch. He sighed quietly and shrugged. "Not much."

Kahlen 
"Sounds like me. I've been obsessively avoiding the neighbors. Especially ones across the street." She rolled her eyes. "Really don't appreciate those people."

Auberon
"You don't appreciate anyone," Auberon said playfully, resting his elbow on the back of the couch, then his head on his hand. He closed his eyes in a dozing manner, although he was still listening.

Kahlen 
"Ouch. That hurt," Kahlen said playfully. "There is a select few, I'll have you know."

Auberon
"Denver, your aunt, I hope," Auberon mumbled.
