Alex
Alex scoffed, sitting down across from Kaylee and patting the seat beside him for Jade to sit down. "Yeah, as if. I've already lost to one girl today, and I don't plan on losing to another.

James
 "Well, you would know if you were selected. Did a check or something appear over your head?" James questioned her, leaning against a pillar.
 "I mean, it's okay if you weren't, because I wasn't exactly chosen either..." he began, trailing off. The only reason he was going was because Katie wanted him to. She's just being nice. He shook his head at himself. Why else would anyone ask me to join them? All I have to offer is a slingshot and some knives that I have no idea how to use.

Jade
She grinned. "You didn't plan on losing to the first one, doofus." She sat down and scooted closer to him. She couldn't help but wish she wasn't going on the quest. She wouldn't mind staying here, learning how to fight monsters, sitting on the beach at night. "You do owe me ten dollars, maybe before we leave for the quest?" she asked, looking up at his blue eyes and messy brown hair. "And a night at the beach, but that will have to wait."

Eudora
Eudora thought about it for a second, then started to say something. But then she looked into James eyes. Oh, he doesn't feel wanted I bet. She thought about it for another second. "Uh- not that I can remember." She lied.

Alex
"Ava cheated!" Alex cried, but was laughing. He moved a little closer to Jade. "I have a proposal.... If we are on seperate teams, and I win, I take back what I owe." He grinned.

Jade
"How about you don't owe me ten dollars - but you'll still owe me a night at the beach." She grinned at him. "And if I win, you owe me two nights at the beach." She reached into her pocket and extracted a necklace she had put there this morning, having debated wearing it. She slipped it on, expertly clasping it from experience of having worn it many times. It was a simple silver chain with a turquoise, real pearl hanging on the end. It had been a gift from her father a few years ago, and while Jade had been mad at his absence, the necklace had meant a lot. It meant he was alive, out there, and caring, and now that she knew who he was, it meant more.

Alex
"Hmm." Alex hummed, as if debating. "Deal." He watched as Jade put on a pretty necklace. "Hey, that's really pretty." He murmured, watching the light catch on it.

Jade
She held the pearl gently in her palm a second, then let it drop. "It was a gift from my dad, before I knew who he was," she said quietly in response. "I didn't see him, it came in the mail." She slid even closer to him, and now they were lightly touching. 

Alex
Alex nodded. "Makes sense. It does look like a rarity from the ocean." He murmured, turning when Kaylee tugged kn his sleeve to signify that she had finished, and was leaving. He turned to Jade. "Do you want to stay and keep talking here, or somewhere else?"

Jade
she shrugged. "I think the entire camp is required to play capture the flag, and it should be starting soon." She looked around. "You guys could probably stay here." She looked at Kaylee and smiled at her. The little girl was so cute.

Alex
Alex hummed. "What if we're on the same team? What happens to the bet then?" He watched Kaylee chase one of the younger Hermes kids out, and down through the valley.

Jade
"Hmmm.... If we're on the same thing, nothing changes. You owe me ten bucks and a night at the beach." She grinned at him. Reaching down, she took his hand and held it in her own. She looked out at the camp, not wanting to look at him and see what he thought of her taking his hand. When she looked out at the camp, she suddenly noticed Noah looking her direction. She smiled and waved at him, but he pulled back and returned to what he was doing. Her brow furrowed, a bit confused.

Alex
Alex gave Jade's hand a little squeeze. "That's so unfair." He groaned, rolling his eyes. "This is like..... a lose/lose situation for me."

Jade
She laughed. "Oh, come on, part of that bet was good for you, too." At least, I hope it is. "You know, the whole 'night on the beach' part. Next time I promise not to fall asleep or have voices in my head." Jade grinned, leaning into his side.

Alex
"I don't know what you're talking about, this situation is terrible." Alex laughed, wrapping his arm a little around her. "And, yeah, that would be appreciated."
