Auberon nodded. It ws his vision; he could get them out of it. He sighed again and turned towards the tunnel.

Kahlen

Noah
He whooped and cheered with the others as they pelted the army below with arrows. Not once did they have any more casualties. But the battle still raged on. The nineteen in the flying Cavalry had to land by the infirmary tent that had been erected for more arrows. Noah looked around at all the injured kids with concern. Medics were constantly moving in and out, bringing more and going to get them off the field. The battle on the ground was much harsher, bloodier, and had more casualties. Noah handed each of the other eighteen demigods a new bundle of arrows to go on their backs, and they quickly slipped back on their mounts and flew back into the air. None of them wanted to stick around the hurt and cries of pain. It was better up here, shooting from a distance, picking the monsters off. But Noah knew it couldn't last forever. Just one casualty seemed far too lucky.

Auberon went up to the front of the tunnel and stared down it. Something felt sad and painful, almost as if his past was just a couple steps away. He took in a breath and started down the tunnel.

Denver
Denver was always busy- there were far too many injured, and at least half that number of casualties.

Kahlen

Auberon felt someone crash into him and stepped back confusingly. He looked down at the ground to see Kahlen. "Kahlen!" he called, but not really doing anything until she knew it was him. He felt slight pain go up his side again; she must've run into him pretty hard because it had set his rib off again.

Kahlen didn't say anything for a moment- she it took her a second to catch her breath. "Auberon?"

She slipped the chain around her neck and, with shaking hands, clasped it on. She looked down at it. She had hoped it would serve as a reminder that her father believed in her, she could do this. But no, it just made her failures seem even larger. Her father believed in her, yes - and he would be terribly disappointed, because she couldn't. She couldn't do this. Her eyes must have had a long enough break to produce more tears, for they began to slide down her face once more. Oh, Bobby, I'm so sorry. I should have moved faster. And Joshua, she shuddered with a stifled sob, I should have done something. I could have saved you. But now you're both dead. How many more people will die because I failed them? Will Eudora? Kahlen? Katie or James? Alex?

Auberon shifted uncomfortably and put out his hand. "What's wrong?" he asked as he tried to ignore the pain in his side.
