Eudora clenched her teeth and looked at Kahlen. "How many things have you never told to any of your friends?" she said. "How do they know they can even trust you with all the secrets you keep!"
"And I'm saying," she turned back to Jade. "That if you hadn't made me feel bad about myself, maybe I wouldn't have done this!" she threw fire suddenly towards Ethel.

Bobby
Without a word, Bobby leaped forward, and the fire hit him full force, slamming him to the ground. As it spread over him, Bobby, once more, rolled in the grass in an attempt to put it out. But it wasn't working, and the fire was scorchingly hot. Smoke made his eyes water and his breathing difficult, but still Bobby made no sound.

Jade
She cried out as Eudora threw the fire, and her mouth gaped wide in a silent scream as it hit Bobby. She watched, sickened, as he rolled, trying to put it out. She could imagine the heat, and the smell of burning fur filled the air. "Eudora," she said, turning to her friend, "why did you -?" She purposely kept any accusing tone from her voice.

"I already told you!" she yelled at Jade. She turned to Kahlen. "Personal as in you love Auberon?" she said giving her a deadly look. "How many people know that?"

Eudora glared at Ethel and shot more fire at her, this time without letting it go from her hand.

Jade
She glanced at Bobby and for a moment her eyes clenched shut. She turned her eyes away, unable to look, for she could feel it like it had just happened. She saw Ethel coming and moved quickly, stepping in front of her and wrenching the knife from her hands. "Not right now," she murmured. She turned back to Eudora. "Eudora, please, calm down," she said, her hand opening toward the pond to call some water. She needed to put out the fire! "Please, just take a deep breath, and you and me can go talk privately and sort things out together. I won't judge you - I'm your friend." The pond water seemed to be coming incredibly slowly, but then again it was pretty far away.

"That's IT!" Kahlen growled. "I was being patient." Her locket morphed into a sword.

Eudora
Eudora blinked and shook her head again as if what Jade said had triggered something inn her brain. She started off into her fire for a minute.

Ethel

She took a step back and stared blankly at Eudora. The pond water rushed into her hand, and she turned away, blinking back tears as she hurried toward Bobby, who's rolling had slowed down during this time. He was lying ominously still, the fire raging on around him. Jade began to douse the flames.

Eudora

Katie
"Wait, wait." Katie struggled out through her sudden anger, backpedaling. "No, no, James, sweetheart, nothing could have stopped that fire, that wasn't your fault."

Jade
The fire was obstinately not dying. It sputtered and smoked as she doused it with water, but it seemed to spring back all the same. Frustrated and terrified for Bobby, Jade dumped it all on at once, the entire pond-ful of water. The fire disappeared, and Jade gasped, sinking to her knees. His fur was almost all burnt away, his skin seared with blisters and burns. But the stillness was what scared her. She shuffled forward and checked for a pulse, for breathing, for SOMETHING. Nothing. Desperate, Jade began doing CPR, which she had learned a couple years ago. It was the extent of her medical knowledge, but she hoped it would be enough to save Bobby.
