Kasimir looked to her with soft eyes, not knowing how she felt about finding out that he was the prince of Lagosta. "Persephone," he said softly as he lowered his head in shame. "I'm truly sorry about all of this and I'm sorry I didn't tell you about my royal status." He made eye contact with her for a brief moment, trying to swallow away the guilt he was feeling.

"You don't understand Kasimir." she spoke as he the tears slipped down her cheeks. Persephone moved closer to him, giving him a drawn-out nuzzle on his muzzle. "I'm the Princess of Moonae...we..we can never be together. I'm sorry.." she whispered, turning and galloping off towards the way out of Lagosta.

Kasimir stood still for a moment as he took in the new information. He looked up as he saw Persephone galloping for the exit, and took a moment of hesitation to run after her or not. He let his heart decide and before he realized it he was running after her, leaving the guards behind with puzzled looks mixed with anger. "Persephone, wait, please," he yelled after her as he tried to catch up. "Persephone...Persy, I won't let us be seperated because of the family we were born into, you, we can not just go our seperate ways and expect us to live out normal, happy lives." Kasimir pleaded with her, hoping she'd change her mind. "I will run away with you if that is what it takes for us to be together."

Persephone stopped abruptly once they were far enough away from the kingdom, that no one could hear them. She quickly turned around, looking at him with her tear-soaked face. "Kas, it wouldn't work. They would chase us until they caught us and then the parting would be even worse. My father would kill you if he knew that we've been meeting up, and I..I can't let him hurt you. I couldn't bare to know that you were hurt." she spoke tearfully, her heart pounding as her eyes met his.

"I don't care what our parents think of us, their mindset is wrong anyways," he argued, "they think one or the other kingdom is evil and their all wrong, it just wouldn't be right in my heart to give up." He took a step forward and nuzzled her gently in a desperate attempt to assure her that his reasoning was valid. He wouldn't let this go until they were together no matter the means of reaching it. "Persephone I will not live my life if you are not apart of it, no matter what I will not let this go."

"But..where would we even go, Kas? We can't go to either of our kingdoms, and there's only our secret place. I haven't even heard any legends about a place beyond the kingdoms." she asked in disbelief, not refusing him as he nuzzled her. Persephone didn't believe they could do it, but she did believe in trying. "Are you telling me, if I don't stay with you...that'd you'd end your life?? Don't say such things!" she cried.

"It doesn't hurt to explore and actually see if there might be a place beyond the kingdoms," he started as he could tell she had slightly given in. It was all he needed, he just had to fully convince her. "And if it came down to it I would rather end my life and leave my kingdom without a king than be without you." He told the truth, he knew he wouldn't be able to live without her even if he tried. "We have to at least try."

Persy looked down at the ground, thinking about what would be the right thing to do. Her heart told her she couldn't let him kill himself, yet she thought it wouldn't work. "Oh Kas, I don't know..." she sighed, looking back at him and into his eyes. "I can't let you hurt yourself, but yet I just don't know." Persephone rested her head against his shoulder, closing her eyes shut for a moment and thinking. "Why can't you just part from me, so you will be safe?" she asked, knowing full well his answer.

Kasimir stood silent for a brief moment, thinking over how this plan would work. Deep down he didn't know if this plan would work either, but he at least knew he had to give it a shot. "We have to try because if we don't we'll never know if it would work or not." He looked her in the eye, before glancing behind him at the kingdom. "I don't know why I can't leave your side, though I know if I do then I won't feel at peace with myself for giving up so easily on something I feel I should be fighting for. All I'm asking is to at least give it a chance before we just give up."

Persephone sighed, "I'm crazy for doing this.." she mumbled, pulling away her head from his shoulder. "Alright, I will run away with you." She glanced down at the ground, picturing her beet-red father, yelling and screaming out words of anger, as her mother did the same thing. But she understood his confusion about not leaving her side, she wouldn't admit it just yet, but she felt exactly the same way towards him. "So, will we go back to our kingdoms tonight to get our things, or will we just go ahead?"

Kasimir turned back to face her, happy that she had agreed. "We will gather our things tonight and leave just before the sun begins to rise." He gave a half smile and reached out to nuzzle her once more. There was so little time to prepare for the journey so they had to pack light. "I'll see you then, I guess, meet at our secret spot and we'll leave from there." He gave Persy a light squeeze before pulling away to head back to Lagosta.

Persy returned the nuzzle, letting it last as long as he wished. She trotted back to her castle in Moonae, entering it without a small glance at her parents. Quickly she grabbed a satchel from her room, putting in some gold coins and small things valuable enough to trade.

The next morning....

Persephone slipped out of the castle, her satchel over her shoulder. It took no time to get to their secret place.

Kasimir packed a few coins and then grabbed his cloak in case he would ever need it. He paced his quarters, his mind racing, not allowing him to sleep. He walked out on the blacony, the summer wind blowing gently. "I sure hope this works," he said softly to himself. Looking down, he found a few guards walking the perimeter, most likely searching for any other unwanted horses in their kingdom.

The sun was now rising, and Kasimir looked at the palace one last time as he galloped to the secret place. When he saw Persy he gave a smile, "Hey, how long have you been waiting?"

"Oh, about a hour or two." She smiled, trotting over to him and giving him a brief nuzzle on the cheek. "I couldn't sleep last night, all I could think about is this plan." Persephone glanced down at the ground, then back into his eyes. "No, matter what happens Kas...I will always cherish the time we had spent together."

"I couldn't sleep either, in fact, I don't think the whole kingdom of Lagosta could sleep," he half joked. He returned her nuzzle for a few seconds. "I couldn't think of a better life than spending it with you." He pulled away and looked her over. "Are you ready?"
