Forbidden Love ~1x1 with RegimeBird

Two kingdoms, one of the sun called , Ligosta, and one of the moon called, Moonae. Each king bore one foal, Ligosta's king bore a stallion and Moonae's king bore a mare. Both foals were raised in their palace, both taught the other kingdoms were evil.

But the two horses were kind-hearted, disbelieving that their parents were right. Against all of the rules and regulations, they sneaked away to a secret paradise, which only the gifted knew of. Over time they fell in a deep love for each other.

Kasimir, better known to most and preferred Kas, was standing deep in his own thoughts with the sun boring down on his seal brown coat. He had been thinking of his future, more so on what might happen than what is expected to. It wasn't long that the lanky young stallion broke from his lucid daydream to a beautiful lavender butterfly floating by his soft muzzle. He had begun to chase the butterfly, prancing around as if he were a mere yearling once again. The butterfly suddenly zipped away, out of sight, and never to be seen again. Kas sighed, not a sad sigh, just a simple sigh in remembrance of his foal years. "Ahh, those were the good ol' days," he spoke aloud to himself, barely above a whisper.

Persephone stormed out of the castle, mad as a hornet. She mumbled to herself, sick and tired about hearing the exaggerated story of this prince of the sun. The moonlight struck her silvery pale coat, outlining every figure of her body. "If they say they are the kind ones, why do they speak of him with a fiery spite in their tongues?!" she neighed angrily, running towards her secret place. Her icy blue eyes, grew calmer, as the cold wind beating against her face soothed her muscles.

Kas wandered around the open field, walking farther and farther from the palace. He hadn't been inside the walls all day after a long lasting lecture from his parents. It was the same lecture he received everyday, the moon kingdom is bad, don't go near them, they are bad. He never really listened to them, and he would usually leave halfway through.

Without another thought he was soon so far away that the palace was a tiny dot in his vision. He started at it for a moment longer, then proceeded to walk farther away from home. The further he walked, the more he felt at ease.

Persephone slowed down as she neared the 'secret' place, her anger almost completely gone. She sighed in relief once she reached her destination, the sound of rushing waters and birds chirping filled her ears. The the grass was so soft it felt almost like silk, and the air..it was so clean and fresh.

Kas took a short break as his legs began to tire from the amount of walking. He usually didn't walk this far away from the palace. He turned to look back at the direction he had come from. "Should I return," he thought to himself. Apart of him wanted to keep going, but he also wanted to return home. He shook his head, "It won't hurt for me to travel just a bit farther." Picking up his pace, he began forward on his long journey away from home.

Almost an hour into a mindless walk, Kas found himself surrounded by a meadow of soft, vibrant colored grass. He lowered his head, taking in a large breath of air and slowly letting it out. He lowered his body to lay in the grass that surrounded him by a soft blanket. "This is my new favorite place to be," he said aloud to himself.

She took in a deep breath, almost missing the hint of a stallion's scent until she pondered onto the moment. Her nostrils flared, ears stood alert as she trotted to the direction of the scent. Persephone slowed down once she caught sight of the stud laying down on the grass. Quietly she crept towards him, towering over him and speaking aloud, calmly and kindly, "Hello?" She didn't want to give any bad impressions at the first meeting of a stranger, so she didn't speak to him harshly.

Kas nearly jumped at the sound of the young mare's voice, though soon attempted to recover from fright. He hadn't exactly expected anyone to be around. Quickly standing to his before further embarrassment set in, he nodded to the young mare. "Um, hello," he responded with a slight awkwardness. It was silent for a moment to long for him, and he was scrambling for the words to say. He wouldn't want to be rude. "Sorry, you sorta gave me a scare, I mean- ur well my name is Kasimir but I prefer Kas," spat out quickly. Heat flushed in his cheeks at the foolish way he was acting in front of the mare. He usually wasn't so caught up with his words.

"I apologize for scaring you, I meant no harm." she assured, looking at him from head to toe for a split second. "My name is Persephone, you may call me Persy if you'd like. I will leave you to your privacy." she said, turning her body slightly so she could go the opposite direction of him. Her blue eyes 'flashed' at him as she turned, and her silvery coat glistened under the sun.

"No it's quite alright, in fact I would enjoy the company," Kas replied with slight hesitation. He wanted to know more about this mare. There was just something about her that he likes though he didn't what what it was. He just knew deep down that he had a desire to learn about her. Walking to her side he looked at he carefully. "I mean if you don't mind my company."

"I do not mind, I rarely get to talk to any other horses besides my 'family'. Kasirmir...I mean Kas, what kingdom do you come from? I come from the Moonae kingdom, have you heard of it?" she asked, looking at him slightly as they walked. Persephone wasn't sure if she should tell him she was really the princess of Moonae, not yet any way.

Kas was slightly surprised to learn she was from the 'evil' kingdom of Moonae, though her actions dictated otherwise on the whole conspiracy. It still worried Kas to know what she might think when he tells her that he is from Lagosta. "Should I say I'm from elsewhere," he thought to himself, "No that would be wrong." He hesitated a moment longer before answering her questions, " I indeed have heard of such kingdom...I- um- am from the Lagosta kingdom." The worry he felt intensified as he watched for her reaction towards him.

Persephone stood frozen in her steps as she took in the word 'Lagosta'. The kingdom her tutors and 'family' told her constantly that it was 'evil', deadly 'evil'. A small smile broke on her lips, she neighed in delight, trotting around him for a few moments before stopping. "I knew your kingdom had to not be evil!" she grinned, standing in front of him happily. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!!" she repeated over and over, giving him a brief, thankful nuzzle on the cheek.

Kas froze then relaxed at the sight of Persy's happiness. He was speechless towards her reaction. "Uh- um- your welcome," he stuttered slightly. Deep down he knew that the Moonae weren't truly evil and that his family was wrong about them. He never really expected to meet someone from Moonae though. A smile spread on his face and he returned the nuzzle, lightly. "I knew deep down that your kingdom was not evil as well."

"I thought the same, about your kingdom I mean." she said, backing up a little and blushing slightly, realizing how excited she had gotten. Persephone wanted to ask him hundreds of questions about Lagosta, but limited herself to one question at a time, "What are you're people like?" She returned to his side, but stayed a reasonable distance, slowly beginning to walk again.
