The Events are now closed, we're working on finishing things up.
This year didn't quite go to plan, my two weeks off at Christmas got mostly canceled so a little behind on things, like the tag I never finished and a lack of interaction. I hope you all have a wonderful set of Holidays and are enjoying time with family and friends!

Hello and welcome to the 2021 Holiday Happenings brought to you by the Shetland Pony Club and Show Creation Coalition! We're excited to bring you some fun holiday contests, giveaways and events and show off some other member and clubs fun events! Please message Sabriel to get your event included. Some items are still a work in progress but will be up soon!


Activities and Community Events
Holiday Sharing - Share your favorite holiday memory, holiday movie, or holiday recipe (or all three!) in this thread to earn one ticket for the Holiday Happenings Raffle

Community Wishlist - A community event hosted by Sabriel. Members can post wishlists of small wishes and some dream wishes and get some gifts. One lucky member a week until Christmas will be selected for a larger gift but all members can receive small gifts from Sab.

Yule Day Giveaway - Deluxe membership giveaways sponsored by graveyard! One yearlong membership to be given out each Friday in December!

Wiki's Christmas Giveaway - A giveaway of surprise items hosted by Wiki!



Contest Calamity 
Holiday Art Contest - Design a character, Show a holiday scene, or just draw your favorite character in winter! Most creative, best effort, best story and judges choice will be awarded with prizes. Every entrant will receive one ticket for the Holiday Happenings Raffle.

Coloring Contest - Use one of SPCs Coloring pages to create a holiday scene or color your favorite horse! Prizes awarded for most creative, best effort, coolest theme and judges choice. Every entrant will receive one ticket for the Holiday Happenings Raffle.

Holiday Horse Contest - Show off your Favorite Holiday Horse on EV. Whether it's a cool name, some great outfit or an awesome color combination. Prizes for Best Dressed, Coolest Color, Most Thematic Name, Super Shower and Judges Choice. Every entrant will receive one ticket for the Holiday Happenings Raffle.

Best of 2021 Contest - Using proprietary formulas developed at SCC we will determine the best EV horses of 2021 based on stats, points and conformation in comparison to age! 


Art Shenannigans
2021 Shetland Holiday Tags - The 2020 Shetland Holiday tags will partially fund a SPC exclusive raffle. 

Free Holly Tags - Once more Holly tags are being offered for free. The base can also be bought for 10k to do unlimited recolors for yourself, or others, as long as no profit is made!

Christmas Bases - If you are interested in recoloring some old holiday bases please contact me.

SCC Upgrade Raffle - A raffle for basic members with multiple winners, Including a bonus raffle for those with current upgrades

SPC Tag Pot Raffle - Half the proceeds from the Shetland Holiday Tags will be raffled off to Shetland club members. You must be a member of the SPC to enter.

One thing I love about the holidays is how people come together and help each other.

My favorite holiday memory from when I was younger is always watching those old stop-motion Christmas movies on my birthday, which is Christmas Eve, while my mom prepared food and desserts for the next day. My favorite more recent memory is of my birthday last year when I hung out with some friends! It wasn't anything extravagant but it was the first time I'd ever had any sort of birthday celebration on the actual date of my birthday since it's so close to Christmas so when I was little and would have parties they'd always be much earlier in the month.

My favourite holiday memory is from last year, right around Christmas. We had a full blown blizzard going on outside, but had made a fire inside, so I sat all cozy with a blanket by the fire with a hot apple cider, playing computer games until late into the night!
My favourite holiday tradition is making homemade pizza for supper on Christmas Eve every year, that way we can take pizza to eat on the 6 hour drive to go to my grandparents the next day (Christmas Day).

One of my favorite things about the holidays is that my family always gets together. My sister recently moved to California and I'm in the northeast so it's hard to see her during the year. I've also had an incredibly tough last two years and this year is my first time having a significant other during the holiday season. I just feel really blessed to find someone who I can share holiday cheer with. Also freeforms 25 days of Christmas movies have been a favorite since I was a child.

I'm going to be brutally honest here, my dad and I share the same birthday, the 19th of December. I haven't seen my dad in over 5 years thanks to covid. (international borders being shut, and lockdowns have made things very difficult for him to come back). The one thing I miss the most is watching the latest Star Wars movies at the cinema, on our birthday, and then going out to lunch afterward. My family is all celebrating Christmas without me (going to a hotel and partying it up) I can't afford that so me and the husband are house sitting at my mum's house and looking after the dog and cats. Going to be a very quiet Christmas....but now I'm used to it. 

My favourite holiday thing is mince pies although I haven't made any yet this year, I've made a couple of jars of mincemeat so I'm halfway there, just need to get round to making the pastry.
