Mason
"Who the hell read the rules?," Mason countered as both a defensive response to Outlaw and a jab at Chance as Outlaw left the room, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets as she closed the door. "So maybe I booked the room. But you all should know by now I don't bother with specifics," he admitted once the door was shut. "In any case, seriously, Sleeping Beauty, get up."

Chance
The door had already clicked back into place by the time he stood with his guitar case clenched in his hands. "I'm going to wait with Outlaw." He wasn't too fond of smoke, though much more tolerant of the smell now than he had been a few short months ago, but he was restless and ready to head to the venue if it weren't for the slowly passing minutes. After leaving the hotel room, Chance easily spotted Outlaw and inwardly groaned at the fact she was already engrossed in a book. He paused, then mimicked her pose against the wall and glanced at the book's cover. "What are you reading? I mean, I can see the title, so I guess I mean-- is it any good?" God, he hated small talk.

Outlaw
She slipped out of the world she'd once knew at the sound of the door opening, and glanced up as Chance exited the room. A faint smile flitted across her lips at his stammered question. The cigarette pulsed brightly before dying into a thin trail of smoke as she grounded it into the asphalt with her boot. "It's an excellent book, if you're into westerns that is." She answered.

Chance
"I've never read one, I don't think. What's it about?" Chance fixated on the cigarette dust on the asphalt, the imagery evoking some sort of unplaceable feeling. Inspiration for a song, maybe. The small distraction could have sent him completely out of orbit for several minutes if he hadn't pulled himself from it and reminded himself to look in Outlaw's vague direction.

Outlaw
"Fast guns, fast horses, and the taming of a land." Her eyes glazed slightly as she drifted back into her memories. The smell of campfire, dust, and gunpowder haunted her mind so vividly she felt she could almost reach out and grasp them in her hands. She pulled herself out of her revere with a low sigh. "They shoulda left it untamed" she mumbled.

Auberon:

Auberon was spaced out through the entire 'rule conversation', and only snapped back into it when he heard the 'Sleeping Beauty'. He blinked at Mason for a minute, then mumbled, "Mase... Sleeping Beauty had a kiss to wake up. What're you gonna do about it exactly?" The words were, once again, too dull to really tell if he was joking or not, though it was safe to assume he was just playing around in an attempt to clear any tension.

Chance
While it didn't necessarily sound like a genre he'd pick out at a bookstore, if he for some reason ended up in a bookstore, it didn't sound like it was completely uninteresting. He almost missed her comment at the end, but once it registered he replied with a quiet acknowledgement, "There's probably a lot they should have done." The small moment of reflection was ruined by the intrusive buzz of his phone. He apologized, pulled it out, and immediately his face lit up. "Have you ever played Pokemon? Or watched it? Or I guess read it, are there comics? I don't know." A notification on his screen alerted him to the presence of the pocket monsters digitally in the area. He opened the Pokemon Go app, impatient as the loading screen took its time.

Outlaw
She glanced curiously down at his phone at the buzz, noting the way his face lit up at the notification. "Nope times 3. What's it about?" She questioned.

Chance
"So basically, you catch these little creatures." The loading screen concluded and the map appeared on screen, a pidgey and weedle close by. "Here, I'll show you." Chance tapped on the weedle and proceeded to swipe the round capsules toward it. After only one failed attempt where it broke out of the pokeball, he caught it. "There's a bit more to it, but that's my favorite part. Oh!" Chance tapped around, bringing up a new screen upon which his avatar stood with a yellow pokemon at his side. "This is my buddy, she's a psyduck." He smiled up at Outlaw expectantly. "Want to try catching the other one?"

She watched curiously as he demonstrated. "Neat! Cute psyduck." She grinned slightly as he showed off his avatar and duck. "I'm good, don't wanna ruin your game, but thanks for the offer, and fer showing me."

Chance
Chance blinked, realizing how much he'd rambled and how his voice had stilted upward and how he'd gotten a little too excited about the silly game again. He cleared his throat, trying not to allow his facial expression to shift but not really being able to maintain the upbeatness unorganically for too long. "Ah, yeah." It didn't take too long for him to snag the other pokemon, and he just aimlessly clicked around the app for a while as he did whenever he happened to open it.

Outlaw
She watched him do his thing for a moment, noting the excitement leaving him as he realized he'd been excited about it. "It's fine to be excited about it you know, it seems like a pretty neat game."

Chance
He could feel his face warm with embarrassment. "I know; thanks." So much for hiding the draining energy. Still, it wasn't often Chance spent any time alone with Outlaw (she kind of scared him, if he was honest) and it surprised him how nice she could be despite how intimidating she looked. While his phone was out, he checked how much time had gone by before slipping the device back into his pocket. The distractions gone, his nerves returned, and he kind of hoped Outlaw would return to her book so he could watch the clouds passing by and 'practice' in his head. Visuals of what he would have to do on stage, rehearsed over and over in his mind, helped him feel a little more prepared.

Mason
He noticeably hesitated for a second before replying, a pause in which a bunch of thoughts flooded into his mind all at once and his face may have tinted slightly red. What? No, he's- The last timed I kissed a guy was how long ago? Oh, God, no, focus, what did he say?, and then, more sharply, What is wrong with you?
At that last line of thought, Mason mentally shook himself off, attempted to act like his surprise had never happened, and thumped his roommate on the forehead. "Yeah, no, not gonna happen." He grabbed the man's arm and hauled him into a standing position. "Come on. We don't have much time left."

Outlaw
She nodded slightly at his response before pulling an antique pocket-watch out of her pocket and checking the time. Getting close... "Gonna go make sure my stuffs ready." She mumbled to Chance, straightening away from the wall. She slipped back into the hotel room and headed for the corner housing her stuff. Sliding into a sitting position on the floor, she opened up her guitar case, and began checking all was in order.
