   “Just having a bit of fun is all.” Vinn snorted, admired Snow’s chipper mood, and motioned her head toward a groom in the classic sleeping-security-guard pose, with his hat tipped over his eyes and snoozing. “This guys won’t leave me alone now though. Wakes up as soon as he hears the latch opening. I’ve tried everything.” Vinn got her ‘hands’ on a lone apple and rolled it down the stable isle to hit the groom on the foot. He woke, sighed, and looked away. “How’s the pool? Pretty nice, ey?” Vinn took a bite of food, and inserted herself back into the conversation. Vinn listened to Snow for a while, and suddenly had a bright idea.

     Snow looked at the groom and pulled her head back when he woke. "Oh yes, the pool was very nice, refreshing, even. I just wish the exercise rider didn't make me work while I was there. Speaking of, I had a good laugh when the groomer was picking my hooves. Oh, and you should have seen how mad the exerciser was when I didn't do as she asked!" She snorted. "I know that look. What idea has come to you now?" She tilted her head when she saw Vinn's expression. 

     “I would agree... the pool is much better when you don’t actually have to work! But... have you seen the size of the pond?” Vinn snorted, “If we both escape at the same time- he won’t be able to take us. We can run for the pond- take a nice, cooling dip. What do you say?” Vinn nudged the latch on her door, nickering enjoyably when the groom aroused. 

     Snow looked at the groom, then back at Vinn. "I like your thinking. But, uh... I don't really know how to open the stall door" She nodded her head down at the latch on the other end of the stall door for emphasis. "So, you might wanna teach me that before we try any daring escapes." 

   “Ah, yes. The complex anatomy of a latch. Took me weeks to figure out how to open this dang thing. Okay so first, you lift up the metal piece, you’ll hear a snap, wait a second, and push. Make sure you wait a second or it will click back into place. Think you can get it the first time? I have a strong feeling we’ll only get one good chance at this.” Vinn whinnied and munched on a piece of hay, letting Snow have a moment to examine the lock. 

     Snow bent her head to look at the latch. It looked... weird and hard to do, but she thought she would be able to do it. She looked at the groom to make sure he wasn't awake and watching. She then whispered over to Vinn, informing her that she thought she would be able to get it, and gripped at the metal latch with her teeth. It tasted horrible, honestly, but she didn't let that stop her. She lifted it up and waited a second or so until she her a small click. She then pushed forward at her stall door and carefully walked out, letting the door close behind her.

    Vinn followed suit, and met outside the barn next to Snow. Once they were out of earshot and line of sight, Vinn took off for the pond. “We’ve got to get over there before he notices, come on!” Vinn yelled back at Snow, who was quickly catching up. When the pond was in sight, Vinn didn’t slow down and plowed into the water. Vinn snorted happily, and waded out to the middle of the pond. 

     Snow hesitated slightly as they neared the pond but when she saw Vinn gallop straight into the water, she did the same. She waded out into the middle beside Vinn and dipped her head in the water for a few short seconds. "How long do you think it'll take for one of the humans to find us?" She asked. 

     "Judging by how soundly that guy was sleeping- I don't know if they will." Vinn dipped her head under as well, and shook out her mane when she came back up. Vinn swam in circles, getting in what she could while she could. "You know, why have such a nice pond if you can't swim in it, right? I mean-" Vinn felt something flop against one of her legs and pulled back in surprise. She focused on trying to find whatever just hit her, and saw the shadow of a small fish dart away. "Fish- I forgot there were fish in here..." Vinn snorted in amusement, and continued to ramble- "and what is a pond without it's honorary mud puddle?" She stole a sly glance at Snow and swam to the bank, where she scrambled out and flopped down in the mud. I don't see why they try to keep me clean. It never works. They should know better by now. Vinn nickered defiantly.

     Diva came back to her senses a few minutes after Snow and Vinn had escaped. She shook her head, and noticed the two fillies out of their stalls. The filly noticed them swimming in the pond, and sighed. When will she be able to have some fun? Diva didn't like being in her stall since that night. It makes her feel like she can't do anything, and to be left there while the others are having fun. She looked around in the stable, and saw that she was the only one left. She sighed sadly, and turned around in her stall. Diva was once again alone, which she used to not mind it, but now she did.
     Alaina came in, and opened up Diva's stall awhile later. She attached the lead rope to her halter, and led Diva out of the stable carefully and slowly. She tied the filly to a fence post, but Diva didn't really feel like fighting. Alaina unwrapped the bandage on her leg carefully. "The vet recommended doing some therapy in the pool...." Alaina went on. Diva blocked out her voice except for the word therapy. Therapy!? I don't need any therapy! she thought to herself.

     Snow stared at Vinn in amusement. She swam closer to the bank but didn't get out as Vinn had. "I feel kind of bad for leaving Diva behind. She can't do any of the fun things we're doing right now" Snow's mind wandered to the filly as she thought about what Diva was doing right now. Maybe she's stuck in her stall still, wishing she could get out and gallop around. I suppose I'll have to offer my support when we get back. 

     Alaina led Diva to the pool. The filly had never been in any water, and was very hesitent. After a bit of coaxing Alaina finally got Diva to go in the pool. The cold water stung Diva's wound at first, but after a minute or two it seemed to sooth the pain. Alaina led the filly deeper into the pool, but she wouldn't go any further.  She didn't know how to swim. 

     Vinn looked over to the barn and let out a long hot breath. "I wouldn't be able to sit still for that long- I don't know how she does." Vinn paused before continuing, "I'm sure she will be ready to help cause trouble when she is better though. And we can show her how to unlatch the door." Vinn's attention snapped to a surprised gasp that came from behind her. She stood, whipped around, and faced Nia. Standoff, heh. Nia sighed, "No, please Vinn. Stay." Vinn contemplated for a moment, "Snow, maybe we should head out..." Nia took a step closer and Vinn took off towards the track, hoping Snow got the hint and followed suit. Vinn turned the corner, and low and behold, was the groom. He stood unfazed by the massive filly that approached him quite quickly, and Vinn skidded to a halt when he wouldn't budge. He snapped a lead onto Vinn's halter, and Vinn snorted. So. Close. 

     Snow swam out of the water as fast as she could and followed after Vinn. She came to a sliding stop when Vinn halted and she neighed loudly at the groom standing in front of them. "Well, that didn't go as planned. Such a shame, I wish we could've stayed out a bit longer" She snorted in disappointment. 

     Alaina had no choice. She had to get on top of Diva, but couldn't be ridden. It was the only way though. Alaina hopped onto Diva and convinced her to move forward. To go deeper even though she couldn't. Alaina jumped off Diva, and led her back to the shallow part having her walk around for a bit. Once finished Alaina led Diva out of the pool, and dried her up. Diva was led back to her stall, and was once again alone.
