Rulers of the Savanna pt. 2 RP

"Well my mother might know if you have family here. Follow me." Alina answered without emotion, turning around and heading towards her mother's den. She held back the flow of tears, not wanting anyone to try to comfort her. All Alina wanted was to be alone, to be by herself for the rest of the pregnancy.

Areli came back to her and Sengo's den, sighing with sadness, and laid down on her favorite rock by her fountain. Then, she saw Alina coming back from burying her dead cub, knew that it was very hard on her, got ready to tell her about her siblings, when she froze, staring at the light lion who was walking just behind Alina with his obviously pregnant mate. There was something about him, she felt her heart skip a beat, for he was looked like Mojo Nyguvu, and it was so; as it was his and her long lost son. "Kito has returned to me at last. I can't believe it!" She said in mind, eyes twinkling, sitting upright, tail twitching, and could hardly wait to hug him once more.

KJ quit trying to hog all the milk, especially when the other cubs pushed him back, and he settled down nursing on the teat he had grabbed; filling his belly with warm milk and getting sleepier by the minute.

Marzipan continued to cry as he followed Kifo down and laid his head on Toki's grave. Kacy looked at her cousin with surprise, but remembered seeing him going back, and forth from Toki's grave at least once a day. She figured that during the past month, he had spent lots of time with his aunt, and had gotten really close. This was his first experience of losing someone dear to his heart at such a young age. Her heart ached for Marzipan and she said something to Marrana. "Marzipan is taking Toki's death badly. You may want to explain things to him."

Marrana gazed at her baby and nodded. "Marzipan," she began, "I know you miss Toki," She pulled him closer, "She was a loving lioness, but she was old, and it was time for her to live with Kunar again. She was sad without him." She gazed into her cub's sparkling eyes. "If she stayed here she might've found another way to die, and we wouldn't want that." Marrana began to groom him, gently at first.

"Okay Mommy. But, she had a belly full of cubs. Did they die too??? I thought she was just getting fat, but when I asked her, she just laughed, and gently told me that she was pregnant with her and Kunar's last cubs. She also had asked me to not tell anybody until after they were born but are they dead with Auntie?" Marzipan looked at his beautiful mother with his bright green eyes full of tears.

Marrana stopped grooming him, and looked around. "I don't think so..." She replied, "I believe your father told me that your Aunt Shawari was taking care of them with Cobar and Maua." Marrana stood, "Come on, let's go see them," she said as she began to pad towards the lioness.

"Good, because Auntie told me that I was their Godfather. But, what is a Godfather? She was going to explain it to me today." He pouted and walked beside his mother; taking three steps for each one of her's.

"Oh!" Marrana responded. "That means while your not the biological father, you will help care for and teach the cubs, as if you were." She explained. "And I guess Shawari would be the Godmother." She flicked her tail as they approached. She nodded to Shawari, who smiled. "Come see. This is Kunar Jr., or KJ. And these two lovely girls are Talia and Kiburi."

(BTW, your Shikam account joined on my birthday. :P)

(Interesting, but am not going to be on that account much anymore. What brought that up?)

"Oh, but I'm only a few months older. How can I teach the cubs something I don't even know yet?????" Marzipan asked with surprise.

Shawari answered him, "When they open their eyes, you could show them around, help them meet others, and make friends." She smiled. "You'll love it."

( I was browsing the forums and saw your Mustang thread. I like looking at pons. And I just noticed it. :3)

(*chuckles* Well, isn't that interesting. :))

"Okay. But, what if they ask me who their father is? They will eventually." Marzipan had a point there and if he told them that their father was the great King Kunar; they might think that Shawari was also his mate and Kunar did not have any other cubs expect with Toki.

"Hmmm," Shawari thought for a moment. "I will explain to them if they ever ask." She told him, as the Cubs began to squirm. Cobar and Maua looked up, "Marzipan?" Cobar asked. "Can we play? We're bored." Maua nodded.

"Okay. Sure!!!" Marzipan growled playfully, gently batting at the younger cubs faces, and playing keep away.

Cobar squealed, and flattened onto his belly, creeping around Marzipan, while Maua batted at him in front. Cobar grabbed Marzipan's fluffy tail and tugged on it, before tackling him. Maua jumped onto Cobar. "Gotcha!" They squealed.

Marzipan laughed, "Oh and he goes down hard!!!" He rolled over on his belly, laughing, and tickling the younger ones on their bellies.
