"I'm making some medicine to help heal your wounds Sengo!!!! Please don't disturb me. I'm in the delicate part of the process." She called out, for she really was, and had to add the two herbal solutions together in the small tube; the same amount at the same time. For if she didn't, it would blow up in her face, and could potentially blind her.

He nodded, not going to disturb her any longer, walked outside. Slowly he carried his beaten body to the water, feeling much better when he felt the cold water soak his coat. Sengo hid the necklace under a rock, leaving it there till the right moment to give it to Areli as thanks. His muscles shown more distinctively now that he was wet, and his handsome green eyes glistening, as if they could melt your soul.

Areli finally finished, the herbal medicine bubbling together peacefully, the two types of herbs, one to heal wounds, and the other to give strength. This hadn't been done since her father, as he showed how to do it, but told her unless it was absolutely necessary, never mix these two medicines together. She carefully stirred it, making sure it was okay, but as it smelled terrible, she added some rosemary, rose petals, and hibiscus blossoms to sweeten it and make it more bearable to swallow. The flavoring also made it thicker, so she decided to mix it with the meat when Alina came back, to make a sort of stew, and give it to Sengo to eat.

Alina's fur brushed against the grass as her eyes gazed at the herd, looking for any buffalo away from the group. She wondered why all of them were together till she remembered her mother's words. "That's why.." she whispered silently.

Sengo swam back to the shore line, shaking off his coat and then laying himself onto a ledge. "Ahh..." he sighed, lifting his head up towards the now dimming sun. He enjoyed this place, it was a place he wouldn't mind settling down at, especially with Areli. Almost immediately he scolded himself for such thoughts, pushing them away as best as he could.

The water buffalo's snorted, making sure they kept their calves inside the group, who were rather annoyed, as they loved to chase each other through the grass, but didn't have the room in the massive herd to do that. The only buffalo that wasn't in the herd was the leader, a massive male, only 5 years old, in the prime of his life, and over 2.5 tons. He was bigger than the other buffalo and nobody dared to mess with him; besides being bad-tempered, he also sired strong babies, and was the perfect example of what the Circle of Life was about. The strongest survived, the weakest didn't. He had no idea the trouble makers weren't allowing the babies to run and play, which once he found out, he would be very angry indeed.

Alina purred satisfyingly at the sight of such a big piece of meat, but decided against trying because of his size. Even if she managed to kill him she would not be able to carry him on top of her back. Besides, she had a certain...respect for the leader, she did not want to kill him. But where was she going to get meat? She could kill some hares, or maybe some mice as well.

The water buffalo sensed that a lioness was eyeing him, turned to stare her down, and then noticed his herd was not letting the babies play. Bellowing in anger, he stormed the herd, forcing them to let the babies out, and immediately exiling one of the troublemakers; driving a weakling out of the herd towards the hungry lioness. "I warned you!!! The ones who are troublemakers are the weaklings!!!!" The bull he drove out had a lame leg and couldn't keep up with the fast moving herd. He bellowed for them to wait for him, to protect him, but the herd kept moving, listening to their leader, and leaving him behind to be a meal for the lions.

(Poor water buffalo...)

Alina would make it quick and painless for the buffalo, not wanting him to suffer any more than he already was. She crawled closer to him, getting ready to pounce and kill him with a swift paw. With a pounce she let her claws hold onto his back, wrapping her paws around his neck and trying to reach his vein. "Thank you." she whispered in the buffalo's ear before cutting his jugular vein.

The water buffalo moaned, eyes closing, his heart slowly stopping its pumping, and breathing his last. The buffalo died, quickly, and almost without pain. It would provide plenty of meat for everyone.

The herd came to a halt, when the leader stopped his herd, and glared at them all. "I warned you to not cause trouble!!! Let that be a warning for you all. If I hear of anymore trouble, you will pay the price." He snorted, trotting a short distance away, and settling down to graze. They were at the far end of the swampy part of the river, the herd trembled, but settled themselves down, grazing, and letting the calves play to their hearts content.

Alina carried the buffalo back to the den, arriving there shortly and placing the meat in front of the house. She let out a roar, alerting her mother and Sengo that dinner had arrived. I decided that I'd go visit the pride, but I waited for Areli to come out before I left.

Sengo walked over to the corpse, giving Alina a nod of thanks before taking one bite. He swallowed the bite quickly, waiting for Areli before he continued. He wondered for a moment if Areli had a mate, after all Alina was here.

"Don't touch that meat, not until I season it." Areli stalked out and snapped at him. She figured that he wouldn't take the medicine without a fight, as it was with all males, took a large portion, about 50 lbs., and mixed it into the medicine. She then placed it into a huge tortoise shell and placed it in front of Sengo. "I think you should stay low. I don't need word of a male staying with me." She whispered into his ear.

Alina then trotted off towards the pride, knowing Sengo would tell her mother where she went, because she had told him. Something unknown to her was calling her to the pride.

Sengo nodded and replied aloud, since Alina was gone and no one else was around. "I wanted to thank you for letting me stay." he spoke in his soft but masculine voice. Carefully he lifted up the golden necklace to her, gesturing to her that he would like to put it on her if he would allow her.

Areli jerked back, staring at him, and began to cry. She raced away into the Forest and ran to her secret spot that she had met Mojo Nyguvu so many times when they were young. She landed on his grave and sobbed uncontrollably. "Oh Mojo!!! I wish you were still here. I need you." She laid out fully on his grave and continued to cry.

Sengo chased after Areli, not far behind her because he was weak, but if he was his strong self he would have already caught up to her. He stopped behind her, walking up to her slowly and carefully. Gently he placed his paw on her back, his touch was so gentle and sweet. "I'm sorry if I upset you." he whispered softly to her.

"It's okay, but I can't get close to anyone. I swore on Mojo Nyguvu's grave I would never let myself fall in love with anyone else. Only just recently did our daughter come home, I haven't seen her since she was a tiny cub." Areli continued to cry, shrugging off his paw, and refusing to look at him.
