"Of course you may stay. Many of my ladies are older, some are on their last legs, and we are of need of strong young hunters like yourself. However, do not expect to have cubs from the King." He kindly said and then warned gently before walking off to rest before the hard patrol later than evening.

"I do not expect anything from anyone." she spoke quietly after he left, standing back up straightly, watching him walk off for a moment. Utamu looked down at the ground for a moment, remembering the first pride she landed in. It was a nasty pride, lions fighting other males and lioness fighting over the cubs. I lifted my head back up, determined this would be a better pride.

Toki thought deeply, wondering if they were too old to be parents once more, as they were both 12, and their children were almost 6 years old. She decided to convince him anyway, met Kunar, talked with him privately, and both trotted into the den for a couple hours.

Kacy and Moyo were just coming out of the den they chose for themselves, having spent almost 5 hours together, and were ready to go swimming. They invited Aussie to join them, who gladly accepted, as she loved to swim. Kacy then spied Utamu, smiled, figuring her daddy had accepted her as part of the pride, and walked over with a sweet smile. "Hi! I'm Princess Kacy, King Kunar's daughter, heir to the throne, and this my new mate Moyo. We're going to go swimming, want to join us?"

"Hello honor to meet you Princess," she nodded to her respectfully, a soft smile smitten on her face "I'd love to." Utamu used to swim when she was cub, on her stops at prides, they welcomed a cub more so than a grown lioness. "My name is Utamu." she introduced herself to them, nodding to the other two that were near her.

"This is Aussie, she is the fiercest lionesses I've ever met." Kacy introduced the many scarred white lioness beside her, who smiled sweetly. "I may be tough, but I have a soft heart, and am fiercely loyal to those I serve." She nodded to Utamu. Moyo was still new to being a mate, so he kinda got a little fresh with Kacy, who pushed him away. "Not in public Moyo!!! Go cool down in the pool." She snapped, to which he quickly obeyed, and minutes later; you could hear a loud "splash". Kacy giggled and led the way to the pool. It was lovely, palm trees, parrots, the hornbill family, hibiscus and other native flowers blooming, and lots of butterflies fluttering around.

Utamu held back a grin on her face, amused by the newly couple. I followed behind Aussie and Kacy, just in case something or someone tried to come up behind them. She loved the scenery, admiring how open and free it seemed. I felt great respect for the lioness they called Aussie, her scars, to me, represented a warrior, someone who would fight to the end.

Kacy trotted up the trail to the top of the waterfall, which was more like a series of water-slides, grinned, and jumped into the current. She slid down, whooping in delight, and landed into the water through a "shooting" waterfall that shot out over 7 feet into the 10 ft. deep pool. She came up, giggling, and swam to the edge of the pool. She got out, shook, then grabbed an expensive looking bottle out of a hollow rock, opened the top, the sweet smell of hibiscus and roses wafted into the already sweet air, and rubbed her entire body with the sweet smelling oil till she was completely covered. "Would you like to rub some of this oil on your body? It'll help protect you from the sun's rays, keep your pelt soft, and give you a lovely shine." Kacy offered the bottle to Utamu.

(Is she talking to her mate, Aussie or Utamu?)

"Oh no, I couldn't. Thank you though." she kindly refused, not daring to touch such an expensive bottle of 'perfume'. As the smell floated into the air, her nose caught wiff of the scent. Utamu's face froze, remembering the smell was something her mother used to wear. "My word..." she whispered, loud enough for Kacy to hear, more memories flooded through her mind.

"What's wrong?" Kacy wondered about the look of recognition that came across Utamu's face but decided not to pry. Areli at that time made an appearance, carrying a two baskets full of bottles of different smelling sweet oils, to restock the Pride's stash all around the pool stored in the hollow rocks, and then almost dropped her baskets when she spied Utamu. Something about the lioness brought back a memory, a sad memory that her father had told her to forget, a memory of a lost one, her lost one. "It cannot be, she is gone. Father made sure of that." She ordered herself to forget about it in her mind, shaking her head, and restocking the bottles.

The words Kacy spoke seemed to Utamu a blur, all of memories were coming back to her, and she wouldn't let anything stop that. Suddenly she felt the urge to look up and noticed a lioness restocking the pool with the oils. She seemed familiar, I did not yet know why but she did. Could she be a key to her past? I kept a careful eye on her, trying to remember this part of her past.

Areli continued to restock the oils, ignoring the nagging feeling that was in her heart, and trying to keep her hopes down so as to not get hurt again. Yes, she may have thought she was in love with the handsome rogue when she was only 2 years old, who had been killed by her father after he had angrily discovered them together when she told him that she was expecting his cub, let alone to raise a cub. When the cub was born, soon after having a drink of colostrum, her father had taken the cub away, a little girl, and came back several hours later without her. He had refused to tell Areli where he had taken her and told her to forget the memory forever. He concentrated on teaching her how to be a healer and Areli put the memory aside for a long time; 7 years and hadn't thought about it until now. "I just can't help having this feeling that lioness is my cub. But, how old is she???" She said to herself, stopping what she was doing, and looking at the lioness out of the corner of her eye.

Utamu couldn't bare it any more and walked calmly over to the lioness. The light shined on Utamu as she looked at the lioness for a moment, her eyes focused onto Areli's. "I know you." the whispered words broke from her lips, she hadn't meant to say it, and she didn't even really know for sure if she knew the lioness. She could have been a lioness from one of the prides I stopped at, or for all I knew she could be my mother.

Areli couldn't stand it anymore, looked at Utamu squarely in the eyes, and saw a mirror image of herself; just (darker or lighter?) than her own pelt but the same bright blue eyes. "It is you. Whatever happened that separated us, was not of my own doing. I begged your grandfather to let me raise you, but he said he was doing it for my own good. My mother had just died, he was in mourning, and couldn't bear to have me struggle to raise you without her. Please don't be mad at me, nor at your grandfather's memory, Alina." Areli had named her baby Alina before they were torn apart forever; until now.

Everything came back to her in what seemed a second, she could remember clearly now a lion, taking her away from what seemed her mother. Utamu/Alina looked at the lioness differently, there was a certain, love in her eyes. "Thank you." she whispered as she wrapped her head around the lioness's neck. "Oh thank you so much..." She continued to whisper.
