Torpid Void

Fayre
"Haven't we all." Fayre muttered. She placed her finger lighly on Harper's forehead, watching as black ink spread across her face. Harper flinched, but otherwise didn't pay any attention to it.

Louis 
"Is that a good or bad sign?" Louis asked quietly, also watching the inky substance. Every time Harper flinched or similar Louis felt terrible. He wouldn't be surprised if this somehow was his fault.

Fayre
Fayre shrugged. "Guess we'll find out." She pulled her finger away, extracting the darkness from Harper's face and into her own hand. Harper gritted her teeth and groaned slightly, closing her eyes then going limp after Fay had removed it all. Her hand melted back into its natural colour, leaving Harper sleeping semi-peacefully. Fayre extinguished the darkness from her own hand, biting her lip. "Well that wasn't very nice of them, was it? She'll be okay."

Louis
"Thanks." Louis glanced at Harper and forced himself to calm down. She's fine now. "Hey, so, odd question," Louis started, turning to Fay, "but, um, would you happen to know why I was on the floor? I carried Harper in, put her on the bed, and next thing I remember is coming to on the floor and seeing you here."

Fayre
"Did you touch her hand?" Fay guessed. "I mean or you got drunk I never know anymore."

Louis
"I don't drink. As for touching her hand, I don't know. As far as I know I didn't, but I may have in the gap of missing memory. Why would touching her hand cause me to black out like that?"

Fayre
Fay stared at Louis judgmentally. "Do you know what the meaning of 'void' is?"

Louis 
"It usually means something is empty or nothing is there. That doesn't explain why that would have happened, though."

Fayre
"It does, actually," Fayre corrected. "She had the ability to take things away from someone or something- she could make things become unreal. That's what was happening to her. She was becoming a void, like the rest of the losers around here. And it's just a bit contagious. If you touched her it probably spread to you and tried to make you nonexistent too. How you managed to survive it, I don't know."

Louis 
"Huh. What should I do if something like this happens to her again?"

Fayre
"I dunno. You're like some apprentice of Aerow's, aren't you? You should be able to figure it out once you control yourself."

Louis 
"I love how everyone assumes I should have everything figured out by now even though I've only been here a few hours," Louis grumbled to himself. It's been a long few hours, granted.

Fayre
"Oh, you think you have pressure on you. I'm supposed to be the next Aerow, Aerow's beloved daughter, the most imaginitive person ever to live! Honestly I'd give anything to just be back home with my dad watching My Little Pony and eating popcorn." Fayre glanced back down at Harper.

Louis 
"No offence, but I would never have assumed you were very imaginative. And if you don't want to do something, don't. You're still young - follow your dreams (at least, as much as you can here)." Louis shrugged. "Don't let yourself be convinced or pressured into misery." 

Fayre
"Easy for you to say, you probably have people in your life who just love you for who you are. I have to earn my love through supporting some broken-down void that honestly I could care less about," Fay muttered, her teeth gritted.
