Torpid Void

Louis
He was mildly annoyed, and on top of that didn't recognize the voice. "Fine," he mumbled, a bit irritably. 

Fayre
"Well, I can hit you over the head with something," Fayre offered, standing up and looking over at the girl.

Louis
He finally managed to open his eyes. Though it wasn't that bright, the light was blinding compared to the black he'd been in. He winced and slowly sat up. Why am I on the floor? Louis had a headache again. "Uh... who are you?" Louis asked, looking up and noticing Fayre for the first time. 

Fayre
"Fayre, or Fay... you choose," she muttered. She touched Harper's hand tentively, though it didn't affect her in any way. "Who are you?"

Louis
"Louis." I carried Harper in, put her on the bed, and then I was here. That... Something's missing. What happened?

Fayre
Fay nodded to show she had heard him. "Well, she's not dead, probably not going to die.... here at least. She's on the brink of death in reality."

Louis
A stone sank to the pit of his stomach. "Can we stop that from happening?" 

Fayre
Fayre shrugged. "Probably. I think. Most likely.... actually honestly I doubt it I'm just trying to be an optimist."

Louis
Louis sighed and pulled himself to his feet. "Well, let's figure out how to save her." 

Fayre
"There were these dudes that learned how to use the void in... very interesting ways. But they can basically kill things and give things life through it all." She shrugged. "They're pretty powerful, and if the got a hold of- Harper's her name?- I wouldn't be surprised." 

Louis
"Yeah, her name's Harper." Louis noticed that Harper's eyes were open, though staring at the ceiling. "Can she hear us?" 

Fayre
Fayre frowned. "I dunno," she replied, snapping her fingers in front of Harper's eyes. Nothing happened. Fayre huffed, forming smoke in her hands, which almost immediately made Harper whimper softly and curl up in what seemed to be pain. Fay extinguished it and furrowed her brow. "Although that's weird."

Louis
He walked over to the bed and looked at Harper for a moment. "So what might help her?" 

Fayre
Fayre glanced at the wall thoughtfully. "I dunno exactly. She's an interesting case, that's for sure."

Louis
"Well, she's more than an 'interesting case.' She's a living person and just discussing like this isn't going to save her." Louis ran his hand through his hair. "Sorry. I'm panicking a little bit. I promised I'd get her back to her family."
