NYC High School

Kahlen 
Kahlen took the stairs two at a time, her locket switching between a sword and a bow. 

Auberon
"Maybe we should split up," Auberon suggested.

Kahlen
"Ehhh... I'd rather one of us not get trapped by angry Greek monsters. But if you want to..."

Auberon
"Whichever you think is better," he mumled. He stopped again and forced himself to not retreat back uo the stairs. "Around the corner..."

Kahlen 
Kahlen approached the classroom, staying on the opposite side of the hall. 5, 4...

Margot
"Now I want to get to know you guys a bit better. So who can tell me their name, something they learned about me, a favorite song, book, movie, etc. and what they think about history." Em raised her hand, smiling when he picked her out. "My name's Em. You are 33, have two kids, a dog, and a wife; your favorite food is New York pizza; you like to go boating and skydived once. My favorite book is currently this one," Em held up the novel she was reading, "and so far this class is extremely boring." She smiled sweetly at the teacher, who had opened his mouth to stop her from listing all his facts several times. "Can we get into actual academics yet or must we continue with the introductory stuff nobody likes?" 

Mason
 Mason glanced at Em with surprise. Wow. That was... unexpected. After some deliberation, he raised his hand. He hadn't been planning on it, but something about the small girl's words had inspired him to do so.

Kahlen 
3, 2, 1. Kahlen's grip tightened on her sword hilt. Right on cue, someone left the classroom- their target. "What are you two doing out of class?" it said innocently, and Kahlen shrugged. "I believe the question here is, what are you doing out of Tartaurus?"

Margot
The teacher looked stunned for a moment. Em took the chance to jump in and say, a little sheepishly, "I like history, but I want to get into the book." He nodded and pointed to someone else. She glanced where he pointed and was a little surprised to see it was Mason.

Auberon eyed the girl suspiciously, mentally taking five thousand notes on her physical.

Mason
 "The name's Mason, I wasn't paying attention to what you were saying, my favorite song is one of mine, uh... favorite color is orange, and I am history." Wonder what he'll make of that. All of them, for that matter.

Margot
A couple kids laughed uncertainly and some murmurs went around the room as people wondered what he meant. Just about everyone was confused. Em didn't see the teacher's expression because she was studying Mason curiously. Kahlen said he knows about Camp Half-Blood, so he's probably a demigod. 

Mason
 Mason smirked slightly, gazing around at his classmates' confused expressions. Once he was finished with surveying the room, he leaned back and kicked his feet up on the desk, staring up at the ceiling. Some hair fell into his face when he did so; he blew it away irritably.

Margot 
She turned back around as the teacher started talking in an attempt to redirect the class from the unplanned direction his introductions had taken. Em glanced at the kid next to her and asked, in a whisper, if she could borrow a piece of paper. He nodded and handed one to her, along with a pen. She stared at the paper a moment, debating how to write this in case someone she didn't want to have it decided to read it. Finally she took the cap off the writing utensil and penned a quick note. "You're not from here, are you? And I don't mean NY. I know most of these kids thought it was a joke, but it wasn't really, right? Kahlen told me you know about Camp HB, and I'm guessing that's somehow connected. ~ Em." She folded the paper and wrote Mason's name on the front. Poking the kid with his pen, she made a small gesture toward the back of the class and handed him the note. He nodded again and, when the teacher turned around, slid it to the kid behind him. Em could hear slight shifting as the note continued to be passed along.

Kahlen
The Mist faded away, revealing the monster they'd been looking for. The empousa snarled. "Demigods." It lunged at them, and Kahlen scrambled to get out of the way.
