A little confused? [issue w/ auto-show?]

All of my foundies have started to tank in shows. I don't think it's just pre-recode horses. 
All of the horses I show are pretty much at a stand still. I used to earn 5-10k a day and now I'm loosing about that.

@ PCS: do you auto-show? 

Right now I'm testing some ideas about tack and auto-showing vs hand showing.

I auto-show random. I do check the number of shows to the number of horses I am showing and make sure there will be approximately 4 horses in each show before I auto. If there are too many shows per horse, I will hand show.

I do almost the exact same thing (though I'm more careful with certain projects, i.e. very careful with Nashville Music but just auto-show on random with my Shetlands regardless). 

I’ve been auto showing since forever. I usually earn back my entry fees plus extra. My new gen of babes and the younger ones I’ve been showing a couple months now who used to do well, a mix of pre and post code lines, and they tanked yesterday. I showed when I normally do and I didn’t even earn back half. 

I've never had this kind of issue. This Guy showed the top of L1 yesterday and only placed 3 times, that's very unusual.

mystic glacier (who has foundation level non-spec) is currently 5 stats from Na1 and was beat by horses with less training that were 70+ stats away from Na1. I'm just so confused and frustrated right now. 

I'm starting to get that way too. All of my horses are foundies and aren't showing very well at all. 
I'm almost debating doing riding lessons only on them.

My horses that have under 10 total no spec stats are doing horrible, my foundations are doing horrible, basically everyone lol. So they are all locked for now. When I do unlock - when I have more enthusiasm for the game - I will probably do riding schools until this show issue is solved. 

I've just gotten back some initial results from my first experiment and honestly I'm shocked. 

chinese tea is an Akhal-Teke who just turned 3 today, he has 5/5 tack, and was hand entered into shows. He just won 7/10 shows (he actually had competitors too)! (3 are still pending and haven't run yet)

guatemala gold is his counterpart (also a Teke who turned 3 today, has 5/5 tack) but was auto-shown on random. He hasn't run in any of his shows yet but I have a strong feeling he is going to flop. Results are in, he lost 10/10 shows and his highest placing was 9th (most are 11th-15th place so you can't even see how poorly he did in those shows).

<sup>I'm beginning to see the problem myself now after switching my active divisions around and paying closer attention. The reason I didn't notice at first was because the majority of my horses are foundation level ns and I was still making profit. 

Since the "problem" is concentrated towards low ns I had a look at my tbs. The tbs that are foundation level ns do okay, but I have a huge problem of competing with myself even trying to spread them out, so it's hard to tell who's doing well compared to who.  

Nightingale is a 31 ns tb shown on random a few days ago, they have 5/5 tack but level 1 training as they only just turned 3. All of their shows are (unintentionally) against my own horses. They were always beaten by foundation level spec horses around 58-60 specs with 5/5 tack and level 5 training. 

By comparison, Soldier's Poem is a 26 ns tb and Muted Angel a 9 ns tb both with 5/5 tack and level 5 training didn't do so bad for their shows. However they were mostly against other low ns and my own horses, so it's difficult to see a pattern. They were usually beaten by Dive into You, a 49 ns tb.
 
This is mostly how I expected the tweak to work, but I also feel it's very drastic for how it was described in the news post, especially since this particular problem wasn't noticed until weeks after. If it's to stay then I guess the only way to make a better showing horse is to raise the ns stats to foundation level. I'm not particularly bothered as long as they still make profit and place in at least 5 shows. 

Honestly pulling out of shows isn't really going to help the problem. I struggle enough to find competitors that aren't my own horses. I quite like that it's not a constant 10/10 win anymore since showing has it's risks anyway,  and it has actually leveled out the field a little.</sup> 

yeah this is definitely not just a small tweak.

it is a solution to the inherent unfairness of being able to breed a high quality show horse from post recode lines. however, it does so by penalizing players who do have pre-recode lines because their non-specs are low enough to disadvantage them with this new showing tweak. 

Not exactly related to the post but what is post and pre recode horses? 

2 years ago (Feb 13th 2016) a revamped (recoded) version of equiverse was launched. All horses born before that date are pre-recode horses, most horses born after that day (give or take a few weeks) are post-recode horses. Before the recode you could breed non-specialty specific stats lower and specialty specific stats could be bred higher. 

Non-spec stats for Western would be STR, END, AGI and specialty specific stats would be INT & SPD. 

Pre-code: Horses that are or have lines of horses that were around the game was re-coded and re-vamped. Usually have low non specialty stats. 

Post code: Horses that were created or bred from horses created after the the game was re-coded/re-vamped.

I understand pulling horses from showing will not help the problem. However, I won't continue to show them when they rarely place and gain no stats. I do not have time to hand enter each show. I auto show always.
