Greek Mythology Roleplay

Alex

"I've been better." Alex groaned in response and nodded in thanks to his new help, wincing and flopping onto the ground at the top of the hill, behind the barrier. "Sorry." He panted, chest heaving. "I thought I could run on my leg. Turns out I was wrong."

Denver 
"What happened?" He'd reclaimed his backpack now, and was looking through it to make sure he had everything. 

Kahlen
Kahlen reached them and stood, folding her arms, glaring at the boy. "Do you, by chance... I don't know, have a DEATH WISH?!" 

Jade
"You're fine," she assured him, glad he was still alive. Glad they were both alive, to be honest. She looked up and saw the girl who had distracted the chimera coming their way, and grinned, about to thank her for helping them. But the girl snapped at Alex, and Jade felt her blood boil. She moved in between Alex and the girl, folding her arms. "No, we just decided to go pet the chimera," she snapped sarcasticly. "Of course he doesn't have a death wish! We were trying to distract that thing so he," she gestured to Theo, "could cross the border." She forced herself to calm down and took a deep breath. "By the way, thanks for helping us out. We would've made it back sooner, but he hurt his leg." She nodded at Alex and crouched down. "Do you think it's broken?" She asked him.

Katie
"Harley!" Katie cried, rolling her into the recovery position. "Hey! Hey! Need some help!" Brian called, patting Harley on the back. Katie put pressure on the wound on her stomach, feeling her hand go slick with blood as she held the wound together.


Alex
Alex chewed at his lip thoughtfully. "I think so.... but I'll be fine. I've broken bones before." He looked up at the fuming girl, trying not to cower at her very visable anger. "Sorry...." He really didn't know what to say.

Theo

Theo had made it across, and he stood there panting. He was still stood up, but bent over with his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. He glanced up, able to feel the hostility from some of the other kids.

"Hey, thanks. I thought I could outrun it." He was still panting, but stood up right. He held out his hand to the kid nearest him "I'm Theo."

He looked round himself, at this place. He'd never encountered anything like that monster before, his mother had kept him incredibly sheltered and been overprotective of him and even when he snuck out, he'd never come across an actual monster before.

James
 The boy could do nothing but watch as a few members of the group took off in the direction of the chimera. Turning to the visibly worn out newcomer, he cracked a grin.
 "Hey man, at least you got through the border on your feet. I rolled through," James snickered. "Someone's kinda maybe gonna die right now, so that's why they're all worked up. They'll probably settle down after a while... I hope."

Ethel
 Ethel turned to the short blonde kid and gave him a glare.
 "Wow. 'Someone's kinda maybe gonna die'. That's very sensitive," she growled, pushing past him and smiling weakly at the new boy who had just showed up.
 "It's no big deal... none of us really know much about that thing, as far as I've been told, so it's not your fault that you didn't know how fast it could run."

Jade
She nodded at the new kid, Theo. "No problem. There's nothing like insulting a giant, angry monster lion and almost dying." She grinned a little at him, green eyes just barely sparkling, and then looked down at Alex. The light faded, and she frowned. "Sorry. If I had made sure you were out of the way before I tripped the chimera, or at least given you a warning..." she trailed off, feeling pretty bad for having caused him to break his leg. There were two other kids there, now, and she glanced at them. "Yeah, I don't think any of us know anything about the chimera. All I know is he's pretty mad." She gestured to the border, where it still paced and snapped.

Kahlen
Kahlen took a deep breath and muttered something about going to check on Harley.
Denver
Denver winced as Kahlen exploded. After she left, he sighed heavily. "Sorry about that," he said. "My sister's... a little intense sometimes. She's just..." He thought desperately for a way to word this. "A bit stressed, is all. He grinned at the the kids. "And besides, I think you may have impressed her. Just the tiniest bit."

Alex
Alex shook his head. "Hey, it's not your fault. Nobody could have known that some oversized goat lion would have falled on my leg after I tried to make a home run slide under it." He laughed, trying to sound reassuring. Honestly, his head was still pounding from the adrenaline, and that kept him from feeling most of the pain.

Katie
Harley's current condition had ended up being too much for Katie, so she joined the other group of people while Brian and Henry looked after Harley. Katie frowned at the was somebody had just pushed James out of the way, and Katie knew then that she too had also been thinking of the way he resembled her brother. "It's okay." She murmured to him. "You explained the situation way better than I could have."

James
 James just shrugged as Ethel pushed past him. "I speak the truth," he muttered.
 Turning to Katie, he smirked, looking up at her. "At least someone appreciates my honesty. And by the way, what are the rest of you guys called? You know, your names I mean? I'm James."
 Every time he introduced himself, he couldn't help but feel a bit anxious. He'd already had to explain why he didn't have any other names beside his first name countless times, and he didn't feel like telling the story of his parentage again. It wasn't that it made him upset, for he'd never met his family, but the prejudiced and scornful looks that everyone always gave him when he told them made him uncomfortable.

Jade
She smiled, but despite his efforts she still felt guilty. She turned to Denver. "Impressed her? I was almost sure she would have killed us if the chimera didn't." She laughed a little and tucked her hair behind her ear again. "Should have brought a ponytail," she muttered to herself. She glanced up at James. "I'm Jade."

Katie shot him a grin - he really did remind her of her brother.
She didn't really want to say her actual name, or her full name, for that matter, incase somebody recognized the recently famous last name "Aldebrandi" and connected it to both large amounts of gang activity in America and Europe - cause by a huge group of Italian mafia, run by a family with the same last name..... and who would have guessed it, its her family.

Denver laughed at Jade's comment. "Maybe. She'll warm up someday." He turned to James. "I'm Denver, and that ticking time bomb over there's Kahlen, my sister. We're twins." He heard someone yelling about Harley and sprinted over, his backpack in hand. Ariel and some others had arrived with a stretcher and more medical supplies. "Oh no...." He knelt next to Harley and tried the best he could to help. Soon Ariel was next to him and they were working frantically.

Katie had taken to furious pacing, in an effort to stop herself from looking over at her friend. "You're ripping up all the grass, Katie." Brian sighed, reaching out to grab her and tug her back down onto the ground. Katie kicked his hand out of the way, swallowing the wince at the hurt look on her friends face. "I don't care." 

Kahlen
As Kahlen stalked away, she tried to fight the smile that was trying to break through. In truth, she wasn't mad at the kids. She was actually quite impressed with their bravery.  It wouldn't do to let them know it, though.
