James
 James cracked  a grin.
"Like, flying horses? I've never ridden a horse, but it shouldn't be too hard. Sounds fun."

Jade
She turned her grin to him. "Yeah, exactly, flying horses. It's not that hard to ride, and is a ton of fun." She looked toward the stables and let out a piercing whistle. Hey Tod, wanna come show off? She heard yelling down by the stables and saw Tod breaking out, Noah running alongside him trying to get him back in the stall. Tod galloped over and Jade rubbed his nose. "Heck yeah, I wanna show off." Jade giggled. "Guys, this is Tod." At that time, Noah ran up breathless. "He ran off, just... burst out of his stall," Noah said, panting. "Oh," Jade said, "sorry. I, uh, called him over." Noah grinned at her, some sort of... thing shining in his eyes. "Ya know, it's so cool you can do that." Jade squirmed a little under his gaze and looked at Tod instead, who shook out his wings. "Can I show off now?" Jade nodded to him, and he spread his wings and leaped into the air. He did a short circle before landing again by Jade, flicking his tail in Noah's face. Noah laughed and held his hands up. "Okay, okay, I know when I'm not wanted." He sprinted back to the stables, and Jade didn't see him glance back at her as she turned and grinned at the others heading on the quest.

James
The small pegasus grabbed the stall door latch in his teeth and carefully opened it. The wooden door swung open, and he stepped out, ambling slowly in Tod's trail. It took him quite a while to reach the group, but when he did, he instantly regretted it.
James' grin grew even bigger when the donkey approached.
"I want that one! He's mine now. That donkey is mine."

Jade
She looked at the donkey. It seemed to be a bit slower than Tod. She tilted her head at it. Can you keep up with the big pegasi? The donkey huffed at her and didn't respond. Jade turned to James. "Not sure if he can keep up with the bigger ones. We can give it a try, of course..." She swung herself easily onto Tod's back. "I'll make sure Tod just goes normal speed. I don't want him to strain himself trying to keep up with the regular pegasi," she gestured to the winged donkey. "Are we racing?" Tod asked her eagerly. No, Tod. Just normal speed, please. "That's SO boring, though!" Tod. Her tone must have been serious enough, because Tod stopped talking and just glared at her out of the corner of his eye. Hey, buddy, just go normal speed, okay? Don't try to speed up or catch up, just go your regular pace. She directed the message to the donkey, then spurred Tod. Tod leaped into the air and circled upward a little ways, waiting for the donkey and James to join them.

James
"It's either the donkey or nothing," he told Jade, swinging onto the small equine's back. The donkey eyed the boy, pinned his ears, and leapt into the sky. James yelped as his steed rocketed upward, but he somehow managed to avoid falling off. After a few minutes, he got used to the steady wingbeats, and felt pretty comfortable riding the short creature.
The donkey snorted at Tod. Tell the girl to tell the kid riding me that my name's Jack. Also, kindly chill out, if you will. It's not exactly my fault that I'm small.

Jade
She laughed. Jack, I can understand you, you know. She looked over at James, and was glad to see he was still on. That donkey had leaped into the sky pretty fast. Maybe it was faster in the air then on the ground. "He says his name is Jack," she informed James. "Tod is a much better name," Tod declared. Oh, be quiet, Tod. Tod snorted, pinning his ears back. Jade rubbed his forehead, which perked him right back up. He was a total sucker for pats, though Jade knew he would adamantly disagree if she mentioned it.

Kahlen
Kahlen shrugged. "That's fine with me," she said, following the others.
When they stopped, a palomino pegasus walked up to her, following the other pegasi. It snorted and tossed its head. "Hello. Mind if I catch a ride?" Kahlen asked the mare. The mare seemed to nod. Kahlen stroked the mare's nose for a moment.

James
"Hi Jack," James said to his mount, rubbing the donkey's neck. Jack rolled his eyes, huffing as he flew in a circle while they waited for the others to get ready.

Ethel
Ethel watched as a large pegasus approached the stall gate, its feathers ruffled and unkempt. It looked to be old, and had a bay varnish leopard appaloosa coat. Scars riddled the horse's pelt, but its eyes, one brown and one pale blue, were full of determination and willpower. The mare stepped up to the girl and stood patiently as Ethel climbed onto her back.

Jade
"Alright," she said aloud, so James could hear. "We're going to go to the cabins and back. Just pass right over Zeus' cabin and then turn." "It IS a race!" No, Tod, I already told you this. Tod shook his mane out temperamentally. "It should be a race. I can go really fast." Stop being a show-off. "That's what you called me over to do!" Jade sighed, but she was grinning at the same time. "Okay. Ready? Just go normal pace, Jack, Tod. Alright. GO!" Jade had to remind Tod to go normal pace as he shot out. "I AM going normal pace, woman. I'm fast!" I know you don't normally go this fast, Tod. Tod slowed to his normal pace grudgingly.

Kahlen
Kahlen mounted her horse and took a second to get used to her seat. Without warning, the mare took off. She flew over the camp and the lake before turning back and landing next to everyone else. "Maybe next time you could warn me?" Kahlen said, laughing a little. The horse rolled its eye at her, as if to say I did, silly.

Jade
She landed at the stables to see that the others had walked up there. Jack had kept up pretty well, he was much faster than he looked, much to Tod's chagrin. She decided to stay up on Tod instead of dismounting, mainly to keep him in check. The other pegasi were chatting up a storm, and Jade had a hard time keeping track of it all. She turned to Kahlen. "She says she did warn you, by the way." She looked at the palomino mare. Kahlen can't hear you guys, sorry. I guess I'm the only one. "That's right," Tod butted in, "She's the only kid of Poseidon here, and she's my rider." Oh, shut up, Tod. Jade was blushing a little.

James
Jack took off after Tod, surprisingly managing to keep up quite easily.
"Woo hoo!" James yelled as Jack slowed to a stop, hovering just above the barn. The stallion snorted, but with ill-hidden amusement rather than contempt.

Ethel
Ethel read the name plate on the stall once she and the pegasus had exited.
"'Kilídes'. That's Greek for 'Spots'," she blurted out, despite never having learned Greek.
"I'll just call you Kilí," she told the spotted mare, pressing her heels against the horse's sides. Kilí trotted forward a few paces before going airborne.

Kahlen
"I'm sure she did." Kahlen patted her mount. "Also, in the unlikely event we'll need it, I have a driver's license. Just in case." I hate to drive, though.

Jade
She dismounted from Tod and walked over to the others, pretending not to notice the liver chestnut following her like a dog. Hey, everyone, quiet down please. I'm gonna get a headache. A few pegasi listened, but others just snorted and kept up their racket. She smiled at Ethel. "Alright, thanks. That might come in handy." She shrugged. "I wouldn't know, though." Oh, crap, I made it sound like I was taking charge. Jade definitely did not want to be the leader of the group. She doubted she'd have the capability of doing so.

Bobby
He smiled at Kahlen. "Oh sweet, I have one, too! I barely passed, though..." He looked down at his hooves. "It's hard to press the pedals with my hooves inside fake shoes."

Katie
Katie watched the others leave for the stables, turning to Shannon. "Are you okay?" Shannon took a loud, shaky breath, and exhaled, looking up and nodding. "What's the big deal about that dagger then, Shan?" Katie asked softly, and Shannon looked away, biting her lip. "Shannon-" "Clementine." Shannon blurted out, eyes wide. "What?" Katie was confused.... what? Shannon sighed, and leant against the wall for support. "We used to have a camper called Clementine. Clem was so..... nice. She was kind, and pretty, and gentle, and she made everybody feel welcome." Shannon shuddered, shrinking in on herself. "But then she got that dagger."

"It was a gift from sombody, but she wouldn't tell anyone who. We found out later it was from a cyclops' hair - and that it was cursed. It changed her. It made her.... dangerous. It made her a killer." The girl whispered, staring at nothing, remembering. "She was luring people into the woods, Katie. She had killed seven campers and wounded four others with that dagger before Chiron..... took her out." Shannon looked Katie directly in the eye. "Please, just make sure..... don't let anything happen to Ethel, okay?" And with that, Shannon had disappeared off to her cabin.

"That was..... weird." Katie muttered to herself, turning to follow the others. She would tell Ethel later.... but she wasn't sure of how much of Shannon's story was true. Something seemed off about the whole thing.
