Greek Mythology Roleplay

Kahlen 
Kahlen sighed. "So.... when do we plan on leaving?" She was anxious to get the show on the road, but if something happened while she was gone...

Katie
Katie exhaled, chewing the inside of her cheek nervously. "Of course horses." She muttered under her breath. "Just HAD to be horses, didn't it." 

Lena

"Thank you Kahlen. I can't believe it!" She smiled and packed up her bow. She followed the others outside and watched them mount. Lena walked into the stable and looked at the horses. A pretty buckskin mare whinnied to her from inside. "Hello pretty girl", she pet the mare. "Do you want to be my pegasus for the quest?" The pegasus turned to whinnied to Jade. Yes, I do want to be Lena's mount. My name is Dawn. 

Jade
She heard another pegasi voice in her head and turned. She walked farther into the stables and smiled at Lena. "She says her name is Dawn," Jade 'translated,' rubbing the buckskin's nose. "She would like to be your mount." She nodded at Lena and walked back out again. Katie was looking nervous. "Hey, Katie," she said cheerfully. "If you're nervous about riding the pegasi, they're really nice. In the air is so much smoother than on the ground." Tod trotted over and stood over her shoulder. Jade got the feeling he had dubbed himself her personal body-guard. "I can find you a gentle one, if you want." 

Ethel
 The wiry, elderly mare quickly fell into a comfortable glide once she got situated. Ethel had ridden horses before, hunter-jumper and 4-H when she was little and western sporting when she was a bit older, so she was rather used to being around horses, despite never having owned one. She guessed that Kilí was around twenty-five years old; the mare was in good shape for her age.

Katie
Katie eyed the pegasi. "It's just...." She shook her head. "Never mind. I'll be fine." She wasn't scared of horses. Not at all. Not at all.....

Kahlen 
Kahlen leaned over and patted her pegasus. "What's your name, hmm?" she asked the mare. The mare snorted, stomped, and whinnied tossing her mane.

Kadi  (the pegasus)
I'm Kadi, the pegasus said. Also, can we get going? I'm bored and if I have to sit here any longer, I'm going to break down the hayloft.

Jade
She turned to Kahlen. "Her name is Kadi." Soon, Kadi. Jade turned back to Katie and studied her a moment. Then, she listened to the chatter of the pegasi. "Stay here," Jade instructed, and plunged into the stables. She returned, a stallion's halter in her grip, the pegasus following meekly. He bent his head to Katie slowly, sniffing her. "Say hi," Jade said gently. "Just put your hand on his nose - if youre comfortable. He's the gentlest here."

Eudora

Eudora sat numbly in her seat as her mother walked back and fourth in front of her. Staring off into infinity while hearing her mother's long lectures about how rebellious Eudora was, and how she should learn to control her temperament became so common nowadays, everything she said just sounded like noise. Eudora's mind raced through many questions all at once giving her a terrible headache. Why was her mother so mad at her all the time? Why did she call her 'rebellious'? She didn't mean to be. She just was so put out by this world... or so it seemed. She wasn't really rebellious anyway right? She just had a tendency to lash out at people who bullied her...
"So I have decided to send you to this summer camp."
Eudora's heart stopped for a moment. She looked up at her mother wide eyed and confused. What had she done to deserve going to a summer camp this entire summer? After a couple seconds of silence, Eudora looked around confusingly. "It's only for a week right?"
"No, Hon it is for the entire summer," her mother said waving her hand around in a 'seriously? your not dumb' kind of manner. 
"Well, what about all the fun activities I had planned for this summer? I was going to go swimming, try out some new sports, hang out with friends-"
"What friends?" her mother said with a sigh. Eudora gave her a look then smartly replied "Ouch". 
"Look, I'm not doing this to hurt you. It doesn't really have anything to do with your school problems at all. It's just..."
"Complicated?" Eudora looked at her mother annoyed. Her mother seemed to use that word a lot lately.
"Yes, darling," her mother said turning around. "It's just complicated."

Katie
Katie winced a little, biting into her lip as she stepped forwards slowly, holding out her hand tentatively. She stretched her fingers forwards gently, brushing against his nose. She relaxed a little as he nosed into her hand, snuffling at her fingers. She giggled, petting his face.

Kahlen 
"Kadi, hmm?" Kahlen closed her eyes. She was getting another headache? She sighed and took off her locket for a second. She could see a tiny bit of her reflection in it. Kahlen had never noticed that before.

Eudora
Eudora walked around aimlessly in the Strawberry Fields, picking and eating ripe strawberries. She thought about coming here, leaving everything behind for the whole summer. She was kind of bored that day, and had seperated herself from everyone else to be alone. Picking strawberries. She plopped one in her mouth and winced as a squirt of sour juice hit her taste buds. She shook her head back and fourth to relieve herself of the taste, then stuck her tounge out after she had swallowed. Then she went cross eyed as she tried to look at her tounge, noticing how it had turned bright red. She stuck her tounge back in her mouth and knitted her eyebrows as she thought about how weird she actually was. She looked around curiously to see if anyone had seen her. Nope. She sat down on the ground and picked at another strawberry. Then threw it up in the air and attempted to catch it in her mouth. Another nope. The strawberry landed and the ground and gave a small thump. She picked it up, blew on it, then plopped it in her mouth.

Narration
A burst of cloudy white mist shot from the now-dead fire at the dining pavilion. It slowly made its way through the air, weaving through the camp. Chiron spotted it and watched it, a thoughtful expression on his face. The mist wafted toward the strawberry fields and lazily formed a check above Eudora's head. Chiron shook his head and stood, trotting out to the fields. "Hello, Eudora. Seems as if you have been chosen to go on the quest." He led the girl up toward the pegasi stables. "Demigods!" he announced to the group. "Hypnos has belatedly chosen someone to journey with you on the quest. This is Eudora." He glanced around a moment, and suddenly his face morphed into an expression of shock. "You guys didn't play capture the flag! With the quest, I totally forgot. No, no, this will never do. It's mandatory, you have to play before you leave. It'll provide...." he seemed to search for an excuse. "It'll provide you with valuable skills that you will need for the quest." He trotted away to call the camp to a game.

Jade
She grinned. "See, he's alright." She slipped the halter off the horse's face. "You can give him a test ride if you want. If not," Jade shrugged. "You'll be on him eventually anyways." She looked around and gave a small nod. They would probably be ready to leave soon. Suddenly, Chiron trotted up with a girl. Jade smiled and waved at her, and then listened to the rest of what Chiron had to say. "Capture the flag?" she muttered. "Why is that so important?" She shrugged and turned to Tod, a small grin forming once more. She would see Alex again before she left! "Hey, guys, I'll see you all at capture the flag," Jade called to the questing group before leaping onto Tod's back and soaring into the sky, heading for the lava climbing wall to look for Alex.

Eudora
Eudora followed Chiron slowly with her head down. Yay, I get to go on a quest. She thought. Chiron had stopped and started talking, so Eudora trotted up next to him to listen. A girl waved at her, and Eudora smiled and looked down at the ground, kind of nervously. Then she heard Chiron going on about some capture the flag thing. She looked up slightly confused. "Huh?"

Kahlen 
"Wait... we're postponing a potentially world-saving quest... just to play a game of capture the flag?!" Kahlen said incredulously, dismounting and folding her arms, her head cocked.
