Kahlen
Kahlen shook her head. She wished Apollo would either shut up and leave her alone or give her ACTUAL answers, although to what she wasn't sure.
She thought about about her quest. She'd be going with a bunch of the new demigods that had arrived earlier. Alex wasn't going, which made her both relieved and uneasy. She trusted him about as far as she could throw him, (Which, to her knowledge wasn't very far. She hadn't had the opportunity to find out.) but him not coming on the quest meant she couldn't keep an eye on him. She sighed in frustration. It seemed the only solution was to put him on a leash, but Kahlen wasn't eager to see how that worked out.

Jade
Her mouth formed an o. "You're giving him to me?" She looked at Star incredulously. Star whinnied and trotted in a circle, flicking his starry tail. "Tod's gonna be jealous," she laughed, thinking of the Pegasus in the stables. Despite his bad attitude, Jade couldn't help but like him. Star was almost his exact opposite - bright and gentle. Speaking of the Pegasus, it swooped onto the beach. "Who is this?" Tod asked, tucking his wings away. Jade shook her head, laughing. Why are you here? She asked the flying equine. He huffed, indignant. "You called me, of course. And I had to see this 'Star'." Jade had forgotten her communication with them was telepathic. She looked at Alex and shrugged. "I think Tod will be quite upset if I go on my quest without him." "Of course I will! Especially if you take this other... thing with you." Jade relayed the statement to Alex, grinning.

Katie
"So what do you think of this quest that we're going on?" Katie asked as Kahlen reentered the pavillion, intrigued. Katie, honestly found it exciting! A chance to go out and explore with her friends - why wouldn't she be excited?

Alex
Alex snorted. "Well sorry, Ted, but I can't do much for him here, so he'll have to go with Jade. He won't be there all the time, don't worry, but he can definitely provide company at night. During the day.... eh, what happens, happens."

Jade
She rubbed Star's nose and Tod shoved his under her hand. I thought you didn't like getting pet. She grinned as Tod stormed down the beach, his ears flat and tail swishing in annoyance. "He'll get over it," she told Alex and Star. "He pretends he's tougher than he really is." She sat on the sand again, grabbing Alex's hand and pulling him down beside her. Star lay at their backs again. Jade leaned on Alex, sitting in comfortable silence. She smiled, wishing this moment could last forever. Tod trotted over again and laid his head on her lap, not to be outdone by Star. The waves rhythmic beat relaxed Jade even more, and after a few minutes her eyes grew heavy. "Good night," she murmured, not caring that they were on the beach still. She drifted into sleep, feeling happier then she had in years.

After Jade had fallen asleep, Alex had finally acknowledged the dark hand that had been petting his head since Jade had pulled him back down. "Hello, mother." He sighed quietly, as not to wake Jade, his fingers carding gently through her hair in a soothing motion, hoping she would stay asleep - although he knew she would, Asteria had Hypnos wrapped around her little finger. "Hello my child." The darkness whispered sadly.

Jade
She stood in a field. A crack at her feet drew her attention. She looked down to see a gravestone had appeared. It was polished marble, gleaming as if it was brand new. She knew that stone. She knew this place. The field began to fill in with more gravestones and a few trees. It was a cemetery. Jade's focus was on the stone. "Joshua Steien. A person's a person no matter how small." It was his favorite quote, and he never applied it to height. The dream morphed into a memory.
"Look," Joshua said, turning Jade's attention to a taller girl. His blond hair hung into his brown eyes. "She is a small person. You can tell it by her face." He looked at Jade. "She is small because she believes she is small. She doesn't believe in herself." At the time, his look hadn't been so piercing or pointed, as if he was talking about her and not the girl. "All it would take for her to be great is for her to believe she can be great. She could change the world, Jade." And then he was gone. In a blink, the dream changed.

Lena

Lena had gasped when she was chosen. She had gotten up after dinner and had gone to the Hermes cabin. Her whole life had just been turned around, and she wasn't even claimed yet. Lena started to fall asleep, so she got comfortable. She was standing on a cliff, wearing a white gown. A man wearing a cloak stood behind her, "What do you want? Who are you?" she asked. "Lena, you know who I am, this dream is to remind you. Be careful on your mission." the voice seemed to come from off the cliff. She jolted awake, breathing heavily.

Alex
"Stop it." Alex panted, breathless, as his mind felt like it was spiralling back down into his body. "Leave her dreams alone." He was been a witness to Jade's dreams, and his head pounded from the choppy back-and-forth motions of it all. Jumping from one of her dreams to another had left him feeling, ironically, seasick. "You care for her." His mother stated simply, as if this is was the answer to everything. "So?" Alex snapped back, and the dark cloud around him became heavy. ""So?"" Asteria growled. ""SO?" THIS GIRL WILL THE DEATH OF YOU!" "Don't tell anyone then. Pretend she has nothing to do with me." Alex sighed, like he was tired. "You can do that much for me." The darkness rumbled like a thunderstorm. "Fine." His mother spat, the darkness rolling into the ocean like fog. "She will be spared. But you are on your own until you find your siblings.

Lena

Lena heard weird noises coming from outside, so she jumped up and walked out. She saw two people, and two horses. She walked slowly up and whispered to the boy who was awake. "Are you ok? I heard people yelling"

Alex
Alex looked over his shoulder and grinned easily at her. "No yelling here." He glanced back down to Jade, just to check that she was asleep, then looked back up. "You sure it was yelling? It's been pretty much dead quiet for us."

"Must have been part of my dream," she laughed, "Well, see you later, I am probably going to unpack a little. I dont feel like sleeping again." She waved and walked back inside.

Alex
Alex let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding as the girl walked away, resting his chin gently on Jade's head. "So. A quest on my own, huh? What could go wrong." He murmured to himself. His mother's threat had not been empty - he could feel that he'd been stripped of magic, and that Star was staying in his form through sheer determination. He was now able to be smelt by monsters (something his magic had protected him from before), but being on the titan side meant he shouldn't need to worry too much about getting into fights. In all honesty he was more worried about Jade. Seven powerful demigods all going on a quest together, with an unexperienced satyr? That was just asking for trouble.

Ethel
Through the Hermes cabin window, she could see the distant shadows of people moving around near the pavilion. She couldn't make out who it was, but she knew that there was definitely movement. She tried to ignore it and go to sleep, but the shadows crossing in front of the fire every so often and making it momentarily wink out was distracting her and making her uneasy. Ethel stood up, careful not to wake anyone, and quietly opened the door. She stepped out onto the cool grass, sand sticking to her socks because she hadn't bothered putting her shoes back on.
"What are you two doing?" Ethel asked as she got closer to the dying fire, eyeing Kahlen and Katie.

Kahlen
"I honestly don't know what to think about it," Kahlen said. "I'd rather not have the world destroyed-" she stopped herself. "I should not have said that," she muttered. "Anyway. I don't want to go, either. Something tells me someone is going to be trouble after we leave, and part of me wants to stay to keep an eye on them." Kahlen thought it was best to remain vague. "But Olympus is counting on us..."
Kahlen whipped around as she heard Ethel. "I needed to check on something," she said smoothly.

Ethel
"Uh-huh, sure you did. Mind telling me why you're sneaking around after dark?" Ethel challenged, leaning against the nearest stone pillar.
"Listen, I don't trust anyone either. There's no need to act all secretive about how shady you think this place is, because believe me, I agree."

James
James sat on his bed, absently dumping out his backpack's contents onto the comforter. The half-empty water bottle. An extra pair of shoes. A t-shirt that he had gotten from a homeless shelter in Boston. The shirt was originally from a hotel, but he had never paid much attention to what was printed on it. Something about Valhalla.
He sighed, putting everything besides the water back into the bag. He pulled his slingshot out of his pocket and threw it in too, as well as the pouch of ammo that he kept tied to his belt loop. Inside of the small fabric pouch was some little steel balls that had came with the slingshot, some small rocks, and some acorns in case he got really desperate.
James flopped down onto his back, staring up at the bottom of the bunk that was above him. He was startled by a faint glow over his head. Jumping up, he almost hit his head on said bunk. The faint image of a glowing caduceus with two snakes wrapped around it lit up the room before fading away almost as quickly as it had appeared.
"Um... guys?" he started, his voice a few octaves higher than usual.
