Alex winced. Of course he had, even HE had heard Noah call Jade nicknames. "Sorry." He murmured, and little voice in his head sounded off. Y'know, none of this would have happened if you didn't interfere. It sighed, like it was tired. I tried to tell you, Alex, I really did. It paused, and Alex answered Jade. "And that's a completely normal fear to have." He would have said more, but then....
Menoetius is coming! It cried gleefully, and Alex's heart froze. "You're lying." He hissed outloud, and the voice sounded through out the tent. "Fight or flee, little one." The voice giggled, and Alex stood up suddenly, pulling Jade with him. "Jade, get the others and leave."

Jade
But she didn't hear him. With the Voice laughing in her head and the memories flying by, she was deaf and blind to the outside world. Joshua's grinning face flashed in her mind; him standing, arms crossed, next to Jade, staring defiantly up at the cheerleaders as the two of them protected Terry; Joshua, head bent backward in laughter, as they sat in Jade's living room eating popcorn, Terry smiling softly at his joke; Joshua and her, walking through the park; skipping stones at the river; visiting his mom's grave and reverently putting a bouquet of flowers on it; and Joshua, walking out the door between the cheerleaders. Jade wanted to follow and stop what had happened, but the past couldn't be changed. The last memory flew into her mind. The funeral. His body, pale and still, lying peacefully in the casket. But Jade had only looked at him once. They had tried to make him look alive, like he was asleep, but he looked very, very, very dead. But when Joshua slept, he always had a faint smile on his face, and this... this thing in the casket did not. It wasn't Joshua, she had tried to tell herself. But it was. Jade's eyes snapped open and she sucked in a shuddering breath. She was standing now, for some reason, but sometime since Alex had pulled her up she had fallen backward against him.

Alex
Alex could tell Jade wasn't listening the moment his panic cleared enough for him to think properly. "Jade?" He asked, holding her shoulders gently so she wouldn't fall over.

Jade
She blinked a few times to clear the images from her head. "Y-yes?" Gosh, she missed Joshua. He would have known what to do on the quest. He was always so brave and certain of himself, so sure of what would be the best thing to do next. She shook her head to clear the thoughts away, but they still lingered.

Katie shook her head. "I'm fine. Honestly."

Alex
"You and the others need to leave. Now." Alex's voice had an oddly serious tone to it, but he wasn't joke. Menoetius was notoriously aggressive, and would fight to the death, and these kids really didn't need it right now.

Jade
"Why?" She didn't think she could travel in this state, but she leaned down and picked up her bag.

Alex
"Someone's coming, and I really do believe in you, but you can't win this fight." He admitted, running a hand through his hair wearily.

Jade
She nodded. She probably wouldn't be able to swing her sword right now. She slipped her belt with her sword sheath on and buckled it in place. Looking at the tent door, Jade whistled. Tod would arrive soon and wait outside for her. "You're leaving now, I'm guessing?"

Katie pouted. "I AM fine though. I slept for ages yesterday." She refused to be babied - especially by her little brother.

"Yeah." Alex sighed, and his form's solidity flickered.

Auberon
Auberon saw Outlaw run down the tunnel. He stepped back as he saw her and the dogs come through. "Are you alright?" he asked realizing she had obviously been in a fight.
