Greek Mythology Roleplay

Kahlen
Kahlen could hear Alex and Jade whispering faintly behind her, but she couldn't quite make out the words. She didn't turn around, though. That'd make everyone suspicious of her, even though she had nothing to hide. She amended the statement. Not much, anyway.

Jade
"No, they didn't knock me out again, if that's what you mean." She kept her voice low. Kahlen had seemed to be tense since, well, more tense since Jade had first blacked out - and Jade didn't want to stress her or anyone else out with her issues. For some reason, she didn't mind telling Alex. "It actually spoke to me twice in about two to five minutes. I hate that it can get into my head." She paused and thought a moment before going on, needing to keep the fear out of her voice. "The first time it spoke was not very long after you left. It tried to knock me out again and give me one of its 'visions' but I was able to push it back. It got mad and said it would make me afraid of the dark." She couldn't imagine that - she had always loved the nighttime, with the beautiful stars. A plus if she was on the beach. Waves made an awesome background noise. "The second time it sounded like the Voice was trying to make me distrust her." She nodded at Kahlen. "But if someone would run at a chimera for me, I think I can trust them. And also the Voice tried to remind me of Joshu - my friend who died." She tried her best to be discrete as she wiped away a stray tear with her thumb.

"Do we know what -or who- it is? Can we stop it?" Alex asked, tilting his head a little. He had a feeling he knew who it was.... but he was limited to a couple of guesses.

Jade
She shook her head. "No, I have no idea who it is. It sounds like they've disguised their voice. It's not feminine or masculine. And they keep trying to unnerve me, upset me. I don't... I don't know why. I haven't done anything to anyone, not that I know of." She paused. "I think it's an immortal being. I have no idea how I know that, but I do. And no, we can't stop it. Not physically. We don't know who it is. Sometimes it listens when I tell it to shut up." "You are correct in two ways. I am immortal, and you cannot stop me." Jade grimaced and stopped in her tracks as soon as it started talking. I told you to leave me alone, she retorted in her mind. "Ah, but I don't listen to mere mortals. You are under my will." Jade felt like someone had dropped a rock into her stomach. You don't control me. There was that creepy, scorning laugh. "Are you sure?" Yeah, I'm sure. Leave me alone. She began to walk forward toward Alex. "No." Suddenly Jade found herself on her back on the ground, feeling a weight as if she was pinned down. "I control you, Jade. Don't forget." Jade squirmed under the invisible weight, her eyes clouding with tears. She always knew when the Voice had left her mind, but she never knew when it entered. The fact that it could touch her physically terrified her. She reached up, trying to feel for whatever was holding her down. There was nothing, yet the weight still pressed onto her. 

Ethel
 Ethel gazed at Jade, who was sprawled on the ground.
 "What's wrong?" she asked, confusion and fear lighting her gaze, turning her hazel eyes much paler than usual. "Gah, I'm sorry, that probably wasn't the right thing to say. Um..." she said, trailing off, then turned to Alex and asked, "Any ideas?"

James
 "Whoa..." he whispered, peeking inside the forge and looking around, completely oblivious to Jade's situation. Heat flowed out of the building and warmed his face. Weaponry lined the walls, and a few kids were inside, some grouped together, others working alone.
 "What kinds of powers do children of Hephaestus have? Can they control fire or something?" he asked Bobby, giving the satyr and quizzical look before refocusing his attention on the forge.

Kahlen
Okay, there was definitely something behind her. She turned around and saw Jade on the ground. She knelt next to her. Somehow, she knew there was someone pinning her down. "Get off her," she hissed to the thing/person. "You have no place here." 

Alex
Alex's hands fluttered (pretty uselessly) around Jade, unsure of how to help and where to start. "Jade?" He asked uncertainly, wiping away a few tears of hers that were threatening to fall. 

Bobby
Bobby had followed James to talk to some of the Hephaestus kids, and so he, too, was oblivious. "They are very good inventors. They can sense how a machine works sometimes just by touching it." He waved at another kid who grinned and ran over. "Hey, Bobby, look!" the little boy showed off a small capsule. Bobby looked at it curiously. "What is it?" The kid beamed at him and gently pressed it with his fingers. It expanded, becoming a small plant in a pot. "So you can have a bit of green everywhere," the kid said, collapsing the pot and offering it to Bobby. Bobby grinned. "Thanks, Tom!" He slipped it into one of his many shirt pockets.

Jade
She relaxed when Kahlen and Alex came over. "Tell her to mind her own business. Tell her to leave." Jade's brow furrowed at the slightly panicked sound of the Voice's voice. What? Why? No. I want you to leave. Listen to her and get off me. Jade looked at Kahlen. "Thank you," she managed to say quietly. "I -" her eyes glazed over. "Fine. Must I keep proving that I control you?" The voice spoke into her head, and then Jade felt the weight lift off her. For a moment, she thought that the Voice had left her alone for now. But her mouth opened, and the Voice streamed out of it. "Silly demigods, always thinking you can be so heroic. Look at your friend and take her as an example. You are weak. And I can control you like I control her. Don't interfere, and maybe I will leave you and everything you love alone. But get in my way -" Jade, half-conscious, felt like she was being lifted into the air. She hit the ground again, or was it all in her head? "and I will destroy you." Jade slipped into unconsciousness.

Kahlen 
Kahlen glared- not at Jade, but at the thing controlling her. "Get... out..." She growled. "You don't control me. No one does. So take my advice and leave, before there are consequences." Kahlen felt brave and powerful, like she could take on anything, even this creepy voice. She didn't know why, and didn't exactly enjoy the feeling. 

Ethel
 Ethel's eyes became dangerous. She knew that she should be scared, but an eerie sense of calm fell over her as she stepped closer to Jade, coming to a stop beside Kahlen.
 "What do you mean by that?" she growled. So many questions were going through her head, all of them revolving around the fact that Jade was possessed or something of the like, but the only emotion that she showed was cold fury.
 "Leave now or else we'll be the ones destroying you."
 The strange calmness left her almost as quickly as it had arrived, and she blinked her eyes, backing up.
 "I may or may not have just made this worse than it already was. Sorry about that."

Alex
Alex shuddered at the voice coming out of his friends body. "Listen, lady, if you're so strong, why don't you control one of us? Why Jade?" He snapped, his voice harsh.

Jade
The unconscious Jade rose to her feet, eyes still closed. "I leave on my own time, Kahlen Winter." The voice turned Jade so that it appeared she was looking at Ethel. "Ethel Carden." The tone implied slight amusement and thought. And then it turned away, facing Alex. The Voice's laugh vibrated the dirt, and as Jade sank onto the ground, it mused aloud. "Jade will suffer terribly because of you. It will be a delight to watch." As The Voice left, Jade's unconscious body jerked and then lay still.

Alex
Alex was speechless, looking at the other two girls in horror. "Let's get Jade to the infirmary, and then we can sit down like adults and talk about what the heck just happened." Alex shook himself out of his stupor, picking Jade up carefully, bridal style and slowly making his way to the infirmary, where Alex felt he may be spending most of his time.

Kahlen
When the voice left, so did Kahlen's strength. She fell to her knees. She felt tired and dizzy and her headache was back, pounding harder than before. Her breath came in short heaving gasps. 

Bobby
He walked out of the forge and his smile dropped. "What just happened?" he cried, running to Kahlen and pulling a square of ambrosia from a pocket. "Eat this," he said gently. He looked up and saw Alex carrying Jade to the infirmary. He nodded. Good. He entered the forge and called James over. "Ethel, James, head to the Big House. There's a rec room you can hang out in." He trotted off to find Chiron.
