Mascot Contest
The theme for this month's mascot is Delectable Dilutes. So find your favourite gypsy with dilution genes/colours (cream, dun, others?) and post them on the club discussion topic. They may have other colours/patterns in addition to the dilutes. In a week I will choose the most beautiful horse to be our new mascot, and their owner will receive $100,000. Your horse must be registered with the club by the time the contest ends, otherwise it can't be selected as mascot.

Poll #1
Our current registration requirements state that a gypsy can be registered if it meets the stat requirement, AND/OR the conformation requirement, AND/OR has at least one unusual/desirable colour, pattern or gene. I am classing the following genes as unusual/desirable:
A+ (wild bay), At (seal brown), Cr (cream), D (dun), f (flaxen), P (pangare), Rb (rabicano), Rn (roan), O (overo), Sp (splash).
My question is, should roan be included in this list? Are there other genes that gypsies can have that should be included? (This will affect the registration requirements.)

Foundation Horse Contest
For this contest you will be raising a 3 year old foundation horse and trying to gain as many stats as possible by the 29th. The winner will receive $150,000. As an added bonus, the first 10 entries will get a colour applicator applied to their horse. All foundation horses and colour applicators are kindly donated by STYX (#6522)
Note: no peppermints allowed.

To enter, post below by the 7th, and specify what horse you like (view available horses here), and what colour you'd like for them if they get a colour applicator.

No, I don't feel roan should be included.. its very common.. I come across numerous roans when I buy store horses. 
I'm still new with genetics, but "mealy" should be included, possibly?

No coat applicator or marking applicator was used.

The Poll question... I don't think Roan should be added to that and I'm not sure Cream should be there wither. Cream is not a common colour but I wouldn't consider it 'rare' since you can get Cream store bought horses. maybe have double cream horses on the list but not single cream horses? I don't know.

I think that combination of Rn gene with Tobiano and Sabino are quite rare and may be included into the desirable list. I think that in such composition Roan is easy to breed out in case the horse's owner decided they don't want to keep this gene in their herd, and in the same time will give a chance to those players who have too many roan horses to find a breeding partner.

For the poll question I agree with Styx, I think heterozygous roan might be too common to be included, but that could be changed to just allowing RnRn.

so I painstakingly went through every palomino Gypsy Vanner that is in Equiverse! Turns out my horse, a Mealy Palomino Gypsy Vanner, is only one of THREE in all of Equiverse. I'm not sure if he's truly a dilute, but fun fact ;)

As for the Poll Question- I would have to say that roans should not be considered rare or unusual. Based on the genetics of the roan pattern, your horse can either be RnRn or Rn+ and show the phenotype of roan. Meaning that the Roan gene is dominant and would only require one copy for the horse to be roan, doesn't sound very unusual to me in a genetic stand point.

for poll question - I don't think roan is rare and unusual, as I know I have quite a few roans.

I had a hard time deciding for the mascot contest, as I have quite a few pretty dilutes!

I settled on Abada in the end though, he's the only Smoky Cream PP stallion I can find and there's only one other GV with his same colouring.

(if we're allowed a backup option, I'd like to enter Blaireau as he's the only Mealy Seal Brown Cream Dun stallion that's also TT Oo RbRb)

I still have to register my rescued GVs, I will work on that today, and put in my mascot entry :)

As for the poll, I think that roan Should be included because it may not be that rare but, at the same them, certain genes are hard to find.
