Raptorfang - maybe they "bit themselves in the butt," but I can also see why someone would breed a horse, and then decide not to keep either the parents or the foal. Maybe between that breeding and the birth of the foal, they changed their mind about their goals. Maybe they decided to pursue a different specialty. Maybe a different color goal. Maybe a different breed, altogether. Maybe they learned something about the game that changed their mind about whether that was a good match (like figuring out that breeding two horses of different specialties produces poor show horses.)

@wey - I saw those Welshes in there and wanted to cry, lol. Had they been anything but geldings I would have grabbed them all. I suppose whoever put them there like that had a reason, but still... :P Oh well, at least they have a home now.

YES i did to Rising Dawn it made me so sad there was a 0 year old gelding what is the point in that if you did not want to breed him then just put him in the rc so someone else can come and pick him up so they can breed him

@Rising Dawn - They made me cry when I saw them for sale XD They are some really, REALLY nice horses. With the whole rescue account thing - I like the idea of it, but I don't see the point in adopting horses out of the RC, and then immediately putting them back up for sale. The only positive thing I see with that, is that there'll be one more horse that doesn't get deleted that may turn out to be a nice horse for someone. However, the people who run 'rescue' accounts that adopt RC horses, treat/train them and THEN resell them for low prices are doing something rather worthwhile.

well i see it this way i had made a rule that i was going to wait ten days to put them up for adoption but to get my rescue going i thought that for right know i would but them up for adoption and lower the price to $100 which the were really $200 each

@Starfish - I completely understand your way of doing things, and I'm not going to tell you that you have to do things differently, however, I try to wait until horses I plan on 'rescuing' and rehoming have gained at least 100 stats from when I first got them. This way, I've actually made some progress with these horses, and they weren't just some horses I pulled out of the rescue center to sell right back.

I saw a bunch of brand new foals who had been gelded in the RC and that just blew my mind. It's one thing to geld an older horse who has already been bred but to ruin a brand new foal for any potential adopter made no sense to me. I also didn't understand spending the money to geld the foal and then putting it in the RC which you get no financial return from.

Mmmmm gelding a foal that's been recently produced and dropped in the RC can make a lot of sense. This can be a very effective a way for a breeder to ensure that his/her lines remain at the availability/level of exclusivity they prefer, decreases the likelihood of their lines becoming overbred by other members, and frees up valuable stable space.

None of the gelded foals I saw had been bred. They were all 0 year old, never bred & gelded.
