Art questions

I’m not 100% sure if this is the place to post these questions. So mod if you can move to correct forum that would be great.

I miss doing digital art and I have an iPad … I was wondering what programs are the best to use on an iPad for getting back into it.

Ibis Paint (free ver.) - I have a friend who uses this on her phone, should work.

Kleki (web browser) - I use this digitally for all creations.

Sumo Paint - also a free app I think?

Magma - I can get a link to this

There's still a tons more drawing web browsers/apps out there, and these are just a few slim pickings from what I use myself. Except for Ibis Pant, I just like simplified art apps.

I haven't used it on an Ipad but Krita is free and should be available for apple products.
Most people who draw on Ipads use Procreate, though you do have to pay for it.
The other options listed are good too ^^ Just depends on what kind of workflow works for you and your needs.

Okay. I’ll take a look at them.

Would anyone happen to know what one is good for doing tags/signatures ? Something that I could do on a larger scale and then resize down to tag / signature size ?

i use procreate and like it, it's hard to import references and color pick from them though so in terms of tag/sig sales it's a little finicky.

i would recommend that if possible and your program allows it, to create tags and sigs at their actual size instead of sizing down afterwards since many details can get lost if you size down, especially if you're recoloring in someone's complex-patterned character. though it's just what works best for me, so of course whichever way works best for you is what you should go for! c:

@forgottenland ;; I totally didn’t think about that. I’m not opposed to spending money on an app that works really good on the iPad either. Just currently not in my budget for an actual art tablet right now. So my iPad is what I have for now.

i use an ipad too! i used to use autodesk sketchbook for art because at some point it was free (might still be?). overall i think procreate on ipad is much better, but i really only have experience in those two so i can't say how well others may stack against procreate.
