*Horse Name Prefix

First one was bred by cinch. If you back track its parents both its parents belonged to cinch. Looking on foals they had three. Sold two and kept one for themselves.

The 2nd is a foundation horse so it's not really bred by anyone really. I think that's why the previous owner changes. It doesn't have much to link back to previous owner but if it was bred its babies would always link back to the parent.

The point remains that horses do not show who they were bred by if they're sold. Back tracking through the pedigree isn't always going to be accurate should the breeder decide to dump stock.

Furthermore, I can say that the first horse I listed wasn't bred by Cinch.

The parent names are "Windspun" who is another appaloosa breeder entirely.
Cinch bred the parents, yes, but sold them to Windspun who sold them to the current owner after breeding them. Between that time, my horse was bred and sold to the player I got the horse from.

I'd prefer it to be considered a brand, rather than a prefix, and only on the horse's actual page would it show/be made permanent. You could still search for it and put it on the horses you've bred forever, but you wouldn't have to stare at it on your horse list.

The idea of getting it as a deluxe perk would be nice, and between 3-10 letters, etc.

Really, I just don't want a bunch of random prefixes all over my page, but wouldn't mind still having them on my horse's page. It'd be a great ode to the strong breeders on here.

I didn't think for that Nit. But just agree. I don't think they should show up on your oage/horse list. Or maybe you can have the option if you want them to or not?

Kuk than that sounds more like a technical game error. I might suggest it be fixed or changed on how it works. Having it always show that like version 1 I never had a problem finding the breeder. I might even suggest all of the listings, Current owner, previous owner, bred by. All to be added to the top of the horses page so there never lost or confused. So the previous owner doesn't replace the bred by. It seems like a error xD to me.

This I would be more open to, if it had to be more than three/four characters. My names are already complicated enough. XD

Why not have the "prefix" be a "brand" that can be a little icon with your stable/w\e initials (BDR in my case) that rests ON the horses page somewhere rather than in the name?

Bred by not showing all the time is 100% a bug. I will add it to my list :')

As for prefixes..

I semi-like the idea.

My personal ideas (if I were to implement it) based on some of the conversations in here:

- Pay 1 EVC to register a "Brand"
- Pay some amount of $EVD to attach the brand to a horse (so it's not automatically added at birth)
- Introduce "Barn Names" which are the only names that will show on a member's horses page/in the division list
- Barn Name will show above Registered Show Name (what we currently have as "Name") on horse page
- Registered Show Name will come with permanent, non-removable prefix attached to the front

So I have a horse. His barn name is "Oakley". His prefix is "GR}" (for Grey Ridge :'D). His registered show name is "Under The Old Oak Tree".

On horses page, his information looks like this:

N1 Oakley - 3 year old Bay Thoroughbred Stallion

On his horse page, it looks like this:

Viewing Oakley
GR} Under The Old Oak Tree
ID#123456

On show pages he would be listed as:

GR} Under The Old Oak Tree (#123455) Owned by Abbey (#1)

I love that idea Abbey! Would make the game a tad more realistic as well which I'd always support ;3

Perhaps instead of paying 1 EVC for the prefix, you could get one as a perk of deluxe and then add more for 1 EVC / $50k EVD (or the average price of an EVC).

Or you could buy them at the credit store/general store/stable expansions and buy them in bundles/individually.

I love the idea! I just don't like having to pay so EVD to add the prefix, if we already bought the prefix. We should just have the manually add the prefix to horses.

I'm not huge on this idea, and if we have to pay for it then I probably won't ever buy it :x

I would have to think how I feel about this now with Abbey's idea.

I can see paying for the brand itself. I am 50/50 on paying every time it's added to a horse - it's basically paying to "register" your horse as in RL, BUT we have to also pay to register with the breed club so I feel like that's paying twice for the same thing (in theory).

Right now I try to cram info not seen on the "My horses" list/page into my horse names (like conf, markings which aren't listed (like Rn, App complex, Sp) and if gray hidden color(ie EeA). If that becomes barn name, how many characters would I be limited to? Edit - I do like the idea of knowing my horses had a real name for everyone else's eyes, and not my naming code garble.

If I don't have to see the brand on "My horses", then maybe I don't care how long it is. Mainly because I use that page to quickly copy paste all the horses + info in name to my spreadsheet in one go. Then I don't have to do a lot of back and forth getting CONF/Markings/Hidden genetics.

@ Abbey, I like the idea so far!

Several questions:

1. Can I set brand and give name to any horses or just horses that are bred by me?
Personally, I would love to able brand some of my horses that aren't bred by me (spare account/broodmare)

2. If I sell my horses, will other player be able to switch branding and registered name?

3. If the feature is added, can we brand and register deceased horses?
I like it when everything is organized lol I know that the fact that some of my horses aren't branded and registered while others are will annoy me so much... I have slight OCD when it comes to my horses DX I've dumped my entire project once because I realized that I forgot to reveal some of dead horses' genotype and I couldn't handle it...

Remove paying for each horse then :) I'm happy with that, just pay to register the prefix.

1. Any horse that isn't branded already.
2. They would be able to change registered name, but not brand.
3. Sure, why not :)

So long as I still get thirty chars for barn name (and conf avg gets added to the "my horses" page where stats are . (hint hint)). I like this idea!
