Pet Update: 3 kitties... now... (Lizzy)

#271498 Posted on 2023-12-26 22:01:33

So, hello! I haven't done an update in awhile.. honestly that seems nerve-racking considering I get nervous a lot, but as the title is self explanatory. I have 3 cats now, instead of the organized four.. that's only because a cat passed away, just a few hours ago.

The cat was a neutered male, his name was Lemon. And I was the name to name him, I was so little when I did. It seems like a faint memory since I barely remember naming him, but... first of all, Lemon was sick but he WAS getting better. He had been sick a few days, and I was trying to find prior to his disappearance. And we were gonna give him a shot from the vet- but I guess those plans are gone by now.

Lemon has passed away under the love seat, in the upstairs of the stairwell. He technically passed right where Karma, a VERY older male cat, blue siamese with gorgeous blue eyes, sleeps in. Karma sleeps in a box or somewhere in the junk alongside napping on the love seat.

My family didn't know this at all, until it came as quickly as it did. I didn't want to search for a passed away cat, because that'd hurt me more than I would know. And it did hurt me, because I then went to see Lemon; the poor cat I loved so dearly, the second oldest cat. And he was a dark tabby, I switched him out of his old collar and into a blue collar.

He looked so precious, despite his eyes half way closed- but it still stings nonetheless, as I grew up with this cat that I loved. Lemon was so affectionate, and such a lovey-dovey kitty. He would also meow if he was picked up, because he didn't like being picked up at all. The cat would come running to me if I ever pet him, I would also run around the house with Lemon following behind me. It was hilarious, since those are recent memories.

Now it is a bittersweet ending for Lemon. I do hope to see him running on the rainbow bridge, whenever I join heaven- not now, as obviously I have a long life ahead of me still. But I do hope that he's getting lovey-dovey scratches from all the angels visiting the rainbow bridge to see the forever-immortal animals that we love and miss dearly.

Prayers for Lemon, and our healing family.
Pets and scratches to the best cat I ever had in my family.
Live, laugh, love from the best memories I ever had with him.

I'll miss Lemon dearly.
But I will miss even more spiritually...
And emotionally.

-Update from Lizzy, the best animal lover that her home ever had and the best writer and imaginist ever to be told.

P.S: It's pretty easy writing in third person when its about yourself, sorry- sorry- continue on with the reading. Also Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Aw sorry to hear about your kitty :( I lost my 12 year old cat in September due to a growth in her mouth. I still think about her a lot (here she is, her name was Monroe- https://sta.sh/09nl4q33j7z)
May your kitty rest in peace ♥

Thank you, and Monreo is a pretty-looking cat, very adorable and cute. I just wish I had something to have kept remembering my cat by, well, it would be alright since memories are always kept in the mind.

I was also planning on drawing my other cat, Karma, the one I was also talking about but I guess plans have to change. But I can draw Lemon instead, at least a gift/memory of him so I can keep him by.

And I forgot to include that Lemon and Karma were buddies, for awhile.. not anymore- from what I can remember, not anymore.

Aw. Yea having a keepsake is nice. After my cat passed, I kept some of her fur and put it inside her favourite toy as a keepsake on my shelf along with her harness
But yea, you’ll always have memories of Lemon ♥

@Siren yep I will, especially since Lemon didn't enter my life until he was brought home. I think I was five or four, or somewhere between walking and talking at a young age, but I remember him, vividly, of being a kitten tabby.

Lemon, he was a very dark orange tabby. Light or pale green eyes, but he was very dark orange. Like his main bright orange coat was a darkish orange, and his stripes were very dark orange. I have the completed drawing of him actually!

Here: Lemon, I'm still not good with colors. But I got him to at least be recognizable, the white on his chin didn't come in until he was aging more into his older years, which entails he was VERY old to the point where no one in my family can remember how old he was, hilarious but it shows that he's the second oldest.

Then our other cat, King, was the next one to be brought home and finally our stitched up kitty, as by the word stitches his name was Stitch but we call him Stitches because he had to get stitches on his neck. And that reminds me of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.

@forgottenland he did, a very long happy life. I'm still processing that Lemon is gone, it felt like yesterday that he was a kitten. Though his old collar has been through life as well, probably a year or more ago I bought that cat a new bright blue collar. It just fitted him perfectly.

Oh, I forgot to show Karma! Since I did Lemon, I might as well not forget about the oldest cat in our house. Heh..
