What is your eye colour?

#26005 Posted on 2016-04-02 16:16:54

lol the whole eyes changing color thing. Yes, eyes appear to "change" due to various lighting, reflections from clothing and whatnot. However, there have been instances where eye color can change a few days/weeks after birth, or during puberty. My family has some members who were born with brown eyes and they changed to hazel during that oh so wonderful time xP I'll be honest, I thought I was going crazy when one day I saw some green o.o thought I had just missed it all those years. rofl but no, my little brother's eyes are going through the same process currently.
Mine are still usually mistaken for brown unless light is shining directly on them,

All babies are born with blue or grey-ish blue eyes.(well, caucasian babies are. Not sure about other races) but I do see what you mean :3

Dang your eyes are pretty too. I love the colour!

Everyone has such pretty eyes! Aglet, I envy your deep blue eyes ♥. They're gorgeous. I was born with blue eyes like that, and they started lightening around puberty and are now a gray with green flecks if you look close enough. Same happened with one of my other siblings. My youngest sibling maintained that deep dark blue you have, aglet.

Scientists would have a field day with me. My eyes are usually gray, but can appear different colors for seemingly no reason (literally look different colors even if I wear the same clothes at the same time of day, with the same type of weather, etc.). I would say that the "normal" is gray. They tend to appear a brighter blue if I'm in a good mood, stormy gray if I'm angry, and oceanish green if I'm sad (I'd say it is a trick of the light reflecting off tears... but it's like that even if I'm not tearing up, so IDEK I'M WEIRD).

I DO know that my eyes can falsely "change colors" depending on what my makeup is. Like I'm wearing pink eyeshadow right now and my eyes look a little more blue than normal. I love playing with eye makeup and seeing how it affects the way I perceive my eyes XD

Edit: I also have sectoral heterochromia in my left eye. A couple sections of my iris are an amber color.

Green eyes here! My two sisters and I both inherited them from my mom (my dad has blue eyes, as does my fiance) so I hope if I ever have kids I create more little green eye babies!

I did also wear colored contacts, once or twice, when my sister let me use one of her prescription sets to see what it felt like.

Top picture is my actual eye color, bottom is with the contacts on. Neither of them are as particularly good as real life, but pretty close. c: -- click

Also, I used to think my eye colors changed, but not constantly back and forth. If you look through any of my photos of me from baby age to about... 10, my eyes would come up blue in pictures. I have portraits of me at 6 months with dark blue eyes, but the rest were lighter blue. School pictures, those little snap cameras, on film in older cameras. Either way, whatever it was with the flash of those things made my eyes blue in film. Those pictures don't show that I have heterochromic amber around on of my pupils. My sister got lucky and has it around both of hers. XD

Thxs Frosted. Blue eyes dominate in my family, but mine are by far the darkest blue (most everyone else has icy blue eyes). So far mine haven't changed much and since I'm 23 I don't anticipate them changing now. :)

My boyfriend's sister has the most amazing set of eyes! One is blue the other is brown (she has complete heterochromia) :)

Mine were all green when I was young, but as I've gotten older I now have flecks of brown around the pupil and they probably classify as hazel :/

Complete heterochromia is so cool! My sister and I each have very minor sectoral heterochromia, where small areas near the pupil are brown in an otherwise-blue/green eye, but it isn't especially dramatic.

Finally got pictures!

Dark green; some gold tones in them, but fairly solid green. They look gold/yellow in direct sunlight- which is pretty fun.
My mom has very light green, borderline blue, eyes and my father has blue-grey, so genetically it all adds up pretty neatly. I did always want grey eyes though- total sucker for them to this day, but I like green just as much.

At the moment mine are like a green with a little yellow tint, light gold/hazel ring in the middle and a blue/green ring around the outside.
My bf has the prettiest brown eyes I have ever seen, they are medium brown with a mahogany tint to them, so they are sort of reddish in the sunlight, but not like scary devil eyes or anything, just a hint of a reddish hue (so pretty).
I have always envied my fathers eyes though. They are sea green (bright pale green?) and they are awesome looking!! I'll have to try and find some pictures.

Green, but the way they appear can certainly be altered depending on lighting, clothing, makeup...

Contrasted with purple seems to make them stand out quite a bit. I notice this every time I use the purple makeup, lol.

This, on the other hand, is an overexposed pic in which I just have black & dark grey going on (it's also my FB profile pic, lol). The black tends to make them less stand-out-ish. Probably because they aren't being contrasted against another strong color.
