Rulers of the Savanna pt. 2 RP

Marzipan decided to go find Vitani and talk with her. He felt that since he was older, absence made the heart grow fonder, and right now; he felt like his heart would burst if he didn't tell her how he felt, and went to go find her.

Tali talked with Vitani, telling her about her life as a princess, the shock she felt when Zuza told her and Herex Jr. that they were betrothed, to be married when they were four years old, and how she wished she could stay free forever. "I mean, HJ is my best friend!!! I can't marry him. I wish my parents had asked me first, but when I asked why they didn't, they claimed that my great great great great great grandfather had appeared to my Aunt Kacy, told her that I was to be betrothed to Herex Jr. and together all of the land above the Serengeti would know peace for as long as we lived." Here she sighed deeply, stared at the ground, and then looked at Vitani with a smile. "Would you like to go to the flower field on the edge of the Jungle with me? The hibiscus's and other native flowers are so lovely this time of year. I can make you a lovely Flower Crown, which is far prettier than the old crown of Queen Kalina in my personal opinion."

Vitani listened to her story intently, paying attention to every detail. "I think I'll pass, I need to clean myself. Maybe later?" she suggested politely, standing up so she could wait for her to leave before going. I remembered this old waterfall, not to far away from here that my father would take me to, and occasionally Marzipan as well.

Marzipan walked over to the waterfall that flowed down from the Snowy Kingdom and into their bathing pool behind the Great Rock. He was very dirty, super sweaty from all his work, and covered with mud from wrestling with Kifo. Once he reached the pool, he stopped, listened intently, smiled with glee at his wonderful life, and then jumped in with a huge splash!!! It was towards twilight, so the lionesses were getting ready for their evening hunt, and he had the pool to himself. Swam over to his personal rock, grabbed his stash of scented bathing oils, and began to scrub himself with them. After that, he climbed out, feeling so clean, shook hard, and began to groom his now super silky pelt.

"Okay. Bye!!!" Tali trotted off proudly and with a sweet smile on her face towards the Jungle/Savanna Border to get her flowers.

Vitani trotted to the opposite side of he pool, not even noticing Marzipan. She slowly entered the water, going under so she could be completely soaked. Her golden pelt now soaked stuck to her skin as she picked up a nearby bathing oil bottle. As she poured some of the oils she hummed, letting it be a little louder than usual since she thought she was alone. The oils felt so good against her skin, making her feel clean and pretty.

Marzipan looked up when he heard someone humming, spied Vitani bathing, smiled sweetly, but decided to give her some privacy, and hid himself among the hibiscus bushes on a rock to dry off where neither she or him could see each other.

After she finished her bath she stepped out of the water, shook her fur and laid on top of a ledge. She stopped humming when she began grooming her fur, starting from the paws up. I wondered when Marzipan would be back, and I couldn't wait to talk to him.

Marzipan began to hum, quietly, sounding like a musical cricket, and wondered if she would spy him anytime soon with a smile.

Vitani's ears perked up when she heard a sort of humming all of the sudden. Curious, she followed the sound, wondering if it just was a cricket. A wide grin broke across her face as she saw the figure of a lion behind the hibiscus bushes. Silently she crawled closer, till she was near the side of the bush. "Roarrr!!" she roared, pouncing out on top of the lion she hoped was Marzipan.

"Roar yourself." Marzipan grinned, laid on his belly flat on the ledge with Vitani on his back, but managed to wiggled himself over onto his back, belly up, and gently caressed her face. Just as suddenly he started, he stopped, jerking his paw back, wiggling himself out from under her, and cleared his throat. "Sorry, it's just that......... Ah never mind. I gotta go." He started to walk away, feeling frightened for the first time in his life since he was a cub, and defeated for not being able to tell her his feelings.

Vitani leaned slightly into his paws just before he walked away from the situation. "Marzipan!" she called, running after him, and stopping right in front of him. Her heart raced as she gazed into his eyes, trying to get up the nerve to say something. "Please, don't go. I haven't seen you in years and....and you can't just keep leaving like this!" she pleaded, her eyes begging to cry.

He looked at her with a sad look in his face, for he didn't feel bold enough to tell her how he felt, started to walk away, but then stopped, stomped his front paws, turned to face her, and got ready to say something when something or someone pushed him; causing his lips to connect with Vitani's in a super sweet kiss that he closed his eyes and smiled sweetly. Rafiki was hidden in the trees over the pool, grinning, and the spirit of Kuizmu smiled at his daughter with her true love.

Vitani was surprised at first but let herself fall into the scene, closing her eyes lightly shut and edging closer to him. She stroked his cheek tenderly with her paw, cherishing every minute of this precious moment. Whoever caused Marzipan to do this, she mentally thanked them wholeheartedly.

Tarzan, Bahari, Kifo, and Kubadili trotted home, happy with their training. The rest of the former guard, except Kane, went back to their herds. Kane trailed behind, for he was about to hunt. He shot off before they reached the Great Rock. The small trio waved their tails at Kuba as she entered her cave she shared with her brother and sister. Tarzan padded up to Marrana and gave her a nuzzled, and the three curled up, waiting for the huntresses to return.

Marzipan sighed with pleasure, reluctantly pulling away from her lips, and wrapped his front legs around her body in a super sweet hug. "I just didn't have the courage to tell you. I love you." He purred into her ear quietly.

The lionesses, led by Kacy, and Cali, headed out to hunt the zebra herd. Since Ginelly was no longer part of the Lion Guard, her family band was free to be hunted, but Ginelly herself was off limits. However, no one hunted that particular band of zebras, mostly out of respect, though another reason was because it was a fairly small band, and all the members were very strong. So, they went after the bigger zebra herd, and stalked their prey; a lame stallion who had conquered the former leader. He was a weakling, but had used the former leader's young age against him, and had taken over the herd. If the huntresses didn't move fast, the lame stallion would kill the former leader's strong babies, so he could sire the next crop of zebra foals.

"Oh Marzipan...you don't know how long and how much I love you..." she purred, wrapping her front legs also around him. Vitani nuzzled his neck sweetly, pulling away her head slowly so she could look into his eyes. Without saying a word she removed one paw, tenderly stroking his cheek and ear.
