Rulers of the Savanna pt. 2 RP

Marzipan continued to purr and whispered into her ear. "Will you be my mate??? I started loving you when I saw you so scared, almost ready to be crocodile chow. I just couldn't let you die. I felt I needed to protect you forever, but here you are, so strong, and sassy."

"Yes, I'll say it now and I'll say it a million times more, yes. I'll be your mate, I'll love you as long as I live and longer." she promised, nuzzling his face and licking his snout. Vitani loved the sound of being his, belonging to him and being his loyal, loving mate.

He continued to purr against her, the fireflies fluttering and flashing all around them, and the song "Love Will Find A Way" blowing on the breeze.

Vitani continued to purr and love on his face, kissing his cheeks, forehead, and muzzle. Her eyes were closed so she didn't notice they night come closer. Suddenly a question came to mind and she asked him softly "Promise me you won't ever leave me again?"

"Never. I do have my duties to the Lion Guard, but won't ever leave you again, but only if you never leave ME again. I know you didn't have any choice when you were a cub, but why didn't you come back to the Great Rock after your dad died? You could've lived with me and my family." Marzipan just didn't understand why she left after her father's death.

The pride would eat well tonight and the young stallion got his large herd back. He brayed to thank the pride and drove his herd far away while the pride dragged the large lame zebra stallion back to the Great Rock. Once they were in front of the main den, two lionesses roared to alert everyone while the others began to eat, the rest of the pride, cubs, males, lionesses who were too young or too old to hunt all raced to dig in, and soon there was snarling, growling, roaring, slapping, and shoving around the kill.

Vitani looked down, letting a sigh breath from her lips as a tear trickled down her cheek. "I couldn't be near my father's cubs, neither could I impose on you. At that time I wanted to be alone, so I could...so I could punish myself throughout the years." she answered weakly.

"Your father's cubs? Say what?! So, Princess Sunny was his mate. It wasn't your fault. From what I saw with your father's personality, he figured he knew what was best for you, and that's why he went ahead with his relationship with Sunny. I mean, I never saw your mother, but I heard him say that you were the living image of her, and Sunny does have your pelt color; just a little more sunny gold and has green eyes." Marzipan wondered if the cubs of Kuizmu and Sunny had lived.

"I couldn't forgive him for that, I was a fool. If only I could have held back my words, and forced myself to pretend to be happy for him. But I couldn't...no I was too stinking selfish." she cried, pulling away from his paws and turning around. Vitani wiped away the tears, trying to get herself together.

"You can't forget the past, for it does hold sweet memories for you, such as when your mother WAS alive, and when your father found you after the fire. You won't be able to forgive yourself until you go see Sunny again and ask her to see the cubs." Marzipan suggested.

Vitani listened to his words, wondering if he might be right. "Maybe you're right, I'll go see her tomorrow." she nodded, turning back around. She smiled, strutting closer to him and nuzzling his cheek "But first, I wouldn't mind talking to you more before you have to go again."

"Oh, if you want to do that, I got the perfect spot. For some reason, no one has discovered it yet, but then again, not everybody likes the slippery rocks." He winked at her, trotting to the waterfall, and disappearing behind it. There was a nice cave with lots of moss growing back there, where he had snitched several of the furs from the storage den, and lined his private den with them.

Vitani followed him happily, amazed by how beautiful his den was, and how nice the air from the waterfall was! "It's simply divine!" she spoke in awe, looking all around, admiring every detail. "You have wonderful taste." I complemented, turning to him and smiled. "Are any of your family still around?" she asked him, curious.

"Ah, both my brother, and sister are on the Lion Guard. I have to take orders from Bahari, but whatever. I'd rather take orders from her than from Kifo any day. He's so bossy. Ha!!! You should've seen the look on his face when Zuberi dumped over 30 gallons of water on him from his trunk earlier. I nearly died laughing!!!!" Marzipan began to laugh again, but this time, quietly, but had a humongous grin on his face.
Then, still grinning, he leaned into Vitani, knocking her down, and standing over her purring. "Can I show you how much I really love you????" *fade out?*
