Torpid Void

Harper
"Oh." Harper chewed the inside of her cheek thoughtfully.

Louis
"How are you feeling, besides the headache?"

Harper
"Still feeling dead, but I'm alright," she replied.

Louis
"Okay." He slipped off the bed and sat on the floor, leaning back against the bed frame. The others sure have taken their time. 

Harper
Harper laid back down, her head starting to spin. She mumbled something to herself and closed her eyes, tensing at the pain the headache was starting to give her.

Louis
He looked up at Harper when he heard her mumble. "You okay?" The pained expression on her face was concerning. 

Ahem
It had been a long day. The roads were rough, the days short, the sun hot. It was not a good place for something so small and helpless; someone who just needed love. As he crept, he came closer and closer to something he wanted so desperately, or was it just his imagination? Was it all real?

Haprer
"My head hurts really bad," she replied.

Louis
"Do you want water? Hydration is important and it might make you feel better." 

Harper
"No, I'm fine. It just hurts." Harper shifted herself, shaking her head against the bed for a moment to try and relieve the pain.

Louis
"Sorry, again. I think you might have a sensitivity to the darkness/void, so try to avoid it, alright?" 

Harper
"It's fine. You were trying to help," she muttered.

Louis
I tried to help, but now she's hurting and it didn't even do much. Great work, Louis, Louis thought bitterly. He nodded wordlessly in response to Harper. 

Harper
Harper looked at Louis quietly, her eyes fluttering between closed and opened.

Louis
"Are you sure you don't need anything?" Louis asked quietly. His eyes were fixated on the wall of the hall as seen through her bedroom door. His hope was quickly fading, not something he wanted to admit or submit to. He had so much to accomplish still and he didn't intend to just lay low here. At the same time, it seemed everything he tried to do just went wrong. Louis sighed, and leaned his head against Harper's bed. 
"Just breathe for a second. It seems like a lot, doesn't it? I get that." A younger Louis blinked up at the girl from his spot sitting against a tree. "I'll never be able to do it. It's too hard." She shook her head. "No, it's not. It just takes practice. You'll get it." She sat down next to him. "But you don't need to be working on it all the time. Just breathe and relax right now, 'k?" She leaned her head on his shoulder as he took a couple deep breaths.

Harper
Harper hummed in response, the vibrating sound easily translated into I'm positive.
