Torpid Void

Louis
His mind was working overtime trying to come up with a possible way to hep her regain her memory. I wonder.... His brow furrowed slightly as he considered it. That could be dangerous. What if she blacks out again? I'm just starting to learn stuff and I don't know if this is even possible. 

Harper
Harper took a deep breath, trying to relieve herself, which wasn't working well.

Louis
I'll never know if I don't try. And what if she never gets her memory back? - What if I hurt her, though? "Hey, I want to try something to get your memory back. I'm not sure if it'll work and I don't really know how safe it is so it's up to you if you want me to do it."

Harper
"You can if you want," Harper muttered, pulling away and sitting down on the bed. She ran her fingers through her hair, slumping her shoulders.

Louis
"Okay." Don't mess up, Louis. He took a deep breath and formed a little bit of smoke in his hands (trying to keep it out of Harper's line of sight). Louis shifted forward a little bit on the bed, muttered, "Hold still a sec," and placed his hands around her head by her temples [without actually touching her]. To maintain focus he closed his eyes and imagined finding her missing memories locked in a box somewhere in her mind. He pictured unlocking it. The smoke in his hands increased in size a bit and danced against Harper's skin. 

Harper
Harper winced. She felt herself recoiling from the smoke mentally, but she forced herself to sit still.

Louis
As Louis kept concentrating/imagining, the smoke slipped into Harper's head through the temples. After a minute or so he dropped his hands and opened his eyes, extinguishing the smoke.

Harper
Harper shook her head, blinking the black smoke from her eyes. She almost fell off the bed, but managed to keep her balance. "That was painful."

Louis
"Oh. Sorry." It didn't work, I guess. At least she didn't black out again. 

Harper
Harper squinted her eyes. "Although I remember meeting some dude named Mason and some other dude. But that's it."

Louis
"Didn't work as well as I'd hoped. It's something, though. Sorry that it hurt." 

Harper
Harper shrugged. "I'll have a terrible headache for a while, but I'll survive. Thanks for trying at least."

Louis
"Yeah. Maybe they'll come back eventually." That was a bit of a waste. I gave her a headache and a snippet of a memory.

Harper
Harper shook her head. "You mentioned some person named Fay. Who's that?"

Louis
"Not sure. I guess Aerow mentored her at one point."
