Torpid Void

Harper
"They can be for whatever!" Harper insisted. "No, but seriously. Harper the Harpoonist. I could be like a comic character or something." Harper sighed, finally managing to stop her laughing.

Louis
"Or Harper the Harp. That one inanimate object that for some reason is able to talk." Louis sat on the bed and studied the flooring thoughtfully. He had questions, but didn't know where to look for the answers. 

Harper
Harper groaned, rolling her eyes. "So, am I stuck here or can I get off the bed? You never clarified."

Louis
"Yeah, you can move." Louis paused. "Come in here for a sec, please."

Harper
Oh crap, I'm in trouble. Harper slid off the bed and went to where Louis was.

Louis
"I just want to let you know that Aerow is going to be mentoring me. I don't know what all that means yet, but, uh, yeah. Is that okay with you?"

Harper
"Ummm..." Harper thought about that for a moment, pretty puzzled. "Why?"

Louis 
"Why what?" 

Harper
"Why are you gonna be mentored by her?" 

Louis 
"I have a lot of questions about this place, and I think the best place to get answers is at the source." And I'd like to change some stuff here, too.

Harper
"Fair enough. Yeah, I mean I can't stop you." She shrugged dismissively.

Louis 
"Okay. Just wanted to let you know, since you'll probably be here when it happens most times."

Harper
"Could be fun to watch," Harper mumbled, her eyes gleaming mischieviously.

Louis
"Probably will be. Anyway, that's all I had to say." 

Harper
"Okay." Harper walked out of the room and went into the kitchen. "Do I have permission to swear at her?"
