Torpid Void

Harper
Harper hop-skipped after Louis, stopping at the house and examining the outside of it suspiciously.

Louis
"Come inside and pick a room, Harp," Louis called, exiting the kitchen and heading back toward the open door.

Harper
"It's Harper," Harper complained, going inside and looking around.

Louis
"No, I'm pretty sure it's Harp," Louis teased, shutting the door. "Which room do you want?"

Harper
Harper rolled her eyes. "I dunno, you choose."

Louis
"Fine. That one." Louis gestured to the second room on the hall, since he had decided the first would be his. "Should we go get the others?"

Harper
Harper nodded, then thought about his question. "Uh- no."

Louis
He paused on his way to the door, shooting Harper a questioning glance. "Why 'no'?"

Harper
"Because Im too tried to." she replied.

Louis
He thought a moment. "Okay. You can stay here, then. I'll go get them. Does that work?"

Harper
"Alone?" Harper muttered, staring at the ground momentarily.

Louis
Oh, right. She's just a kid. "Um... Well, you'll probably have to come with me. But it shouldn't be too far."

Harper
"They're fighting though," Harper grumbled.

Louis
"Good point. I'll put a sign on the door." Louis found some paper and a writing utensil in a drawer and scrawled out a simple enough message. "Alice, Rowan, and Mason: this is the house. If you're still fighting you can't come in, Harp's orders. - Louis" He turned the paper to Harper. "What do you think?"

Harper
Harper examined the paper and writing. "Hmm, there should be at least one French swear word. Just one."
