Ace
Ace finally nodded understandingly, then waited for the guy to walk a ways before he closed the door. He sighed miserably and turned around, spotting Louis and stopping ubruptly in startlement. "Oh, didn't hear you come out here."

Louis
"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you. I'm guessing that was about me? Couldn't really hear anything said." Louis wondered absently if Harper was doing okay wherever she was. Hopefully the second division wasn't another punishment place. He'd have to ask Ace about it later.

Ace
"Um, yeah. Something like that," Ace responded, dismissing the topic with a shrug.

Louis
He hummed thoughtfully, treading into the kitchen and refilling the glass he had used before. "What can you tell me about the second division?"

Ace
Ace followed him, leaning against the wall and thinking about his question. "It's rough. City-type and, well, it's very specific with ranks and all."

Louis
"Could a kid do okay there? There was this little girl - maybe 8 years old? - who came here roughly the same time I did. She got sent there. She's tough, but more scared then she'd admit." Louis cut himself off by swallowing some water.

Ace
"A kid?" Ace looked down at the ground and thought about it. "I guess it just depends. Most likely not- I lived there for a while with my parents, but even they couldn't really stop the authorities from beating me up when they wanted."

Louis 
"Oh," Louis said quietly. "Thanks for the information. Do you have ibuprofen or advil here?"

Ace
Ace looked back up at Louis and tilted his head. "Uh, what's that?"

Louis 
He sighed. "So no. Maybe you have something like it. It's medicine. It helps headaches and other pain go away or at least be not as bad."

Ace
Ace glanced at the counter. "Uhm, we don't normally have 'medicine', or anything to help pain... I mean, I've always resolved headaches with either a towel or some warm drinks? That's about all I can give- we don't exactly have the luxury of like... hospitals, I think is what you call them."

Louis 
"I'll just deal with it, then. I'm going to lay down. Thanks again for your help." He carried his water with him to his room, closing the door behind him. He carefully set down his water and then sat on the floor, his back against the bed. After a moment of staring at the floor he buried his head in his hands. I might have made Harper's life worse. Em is probably freaking out. What if Harper dies? It'll be my fault and her family will never see her again and - get it together, Louis. Figure out a plan. He sighed and took a drink in an attempt to calm himself.

Ace
Ace almost stopped him, feeling as though he had jusr failed Louis and wanting to try harder. But he decided against it, instead letting him go and staying in the kitchen.

Mason's least favourite person to exist, maybe ever
Alice had been so close to getting away. So, so close. What dented Alice's escape plan (and Alice too, probably) had been an unexpected group of people in the middle of town. Alice had been too busy wrestling her way out of the vice grip on her arm, yanking her already bruising arm forwards and turning a few corners at speed, only getting a few paces into the clearing of the town before she collided with a man and a girl (she only hit both of them due to how close they were to each other so really, this was partly their fault) and the three hit the ground with a loud thump. The only thing that soothed the panic and now heavy pain terrorizing Alice was the distinct but distant grumbles of "Which way did she go?" Alice had barely cushioned the young girl from hitting the ground, gasping as she winded herself, but missed catching the man. "Sorry, honey." She wheezed, struggling to gain her breath as she shifted the girl off of herself and onto the warm pavement.
"And sorry to crash your party," She gave a grunt as she hauled herself into a standing position. "But y'all might want to, uh, vacate-" She stopped as she eyed the heavy chain the girl was bearing, whirling on the males. "I'm- you just- I- Are you actually kidding me? Why is she chained up like someone's dog? Nothing she could have done could have been that bad."

Harper
Harper was taken of guard abruptly, which was bound to set her off. She groaned from the impact the other girl had made, though she was relieved she didn't really hit the ground, or something harsher. She sat up and looked at the other girl, closing her eyes momentarily before shrugging. "I didn't really do anything at all."
