Kahlen 
"Not quite, no." And the purpose of this question is...?

Auberon
"Good for you." Auberon continued to stare at the ground.

Kahlen 
"... You okay?" Kahlen asked, a slightly concerned expression on her face for half a second.

Auberon
Auberon waited to answer that question for a long time, then he just nodded without a word.

Kahlen 
"Great." Kahlen glanced at her aunt, who, despite being busy with her cookie extravaganza, likely hadn't missed a word of the conversation. "Come with me," Kahlen said, standing and grabbing Auberon's hand as she walked toward the back door.

Auberon
Auberon was taken off guard, again, but followed submissevly, shoving down a ton of fear that threatened to show for no aparent reason.

Kahlen 
Kahlen opened the door, crossing the deck and taking the stairs quickly, letting go of his hand so she wasn't dragging him. She was glad she'd worn socks, or the grass would have driven her crazy. It was a Winter thing. There was a swing set in the back yard, and Kahlen sat one of the swings, hands in her lap. "What's up?"

Auberon
"Not much," Auberon mumbled, resting his hands in his pockets and staring at the swing uneasily.

Kahlen 
"Anything you need to talk about?" Something is definitely bothering him.

Auberon
"Need to?" Auberon thought about that question. "...definitely not." He sighed miserably and sat down on the swing next to her. "I just had a stressful night, that's all. I threw up a couple times... mostly blood but I took care of that eventually. Almost got shot too many times as well, then proceeded to run basically all night without stopping... so yeah. I'm fine."

"Right." I am now officially extremely concerned. 

Auberon
"Sorry... I probably shouldn't have said that," he mumbled, resting his head on the chain.

Kahlen
"No, but its fine." I'm very concerned.

Auberon
"Mhmm... definitely fine..." Auberon stared at the ground, his body alerting him that his phone was buzzing, though truthfully he didn't want to answer it. "Oh, crap... I technically have go be somewhere else...." he tapped his foot on the ground thoughtfully. "I don't suppose you'd want to go mur- I mean see a friend of mine with me, would you?"

"Oh- um, sure." Three forty-five. Denver will be home soon, leave a sticky note on the cupboard. "I should probably go grab my shoes," Kahlen said, getting up to go back in.
