Auberon
"Probably a good idea," Auberon mumbled, debating whether he should stay there or follow her. He got out his phone and sent a quick text before sitting there awkwardly.

Kahlen 
"Do I need to grab the car keys or no?" Kahlen asked, pausing with the back door open.

Auberon
Auberon looked up at her. "I don't really want to die so... no."

Kahlen 
"Thank you for the vote of confidence," Kahlen replied with a sarcastic edge. She ran in, slipped her shoes on, and scribbled down a note, sticking it to the glass cupboard. "Auberon and I are going out," she told her Aunt, who nodded. "Don't be too late." Kahlen went back outside. "Ready."

Auberon
Auberon had been typing (furiously) on his phone, and just sort of nodded with a 'mhm' at Kahlen. He shoved his phone back into his pocket and stood up after a moment. "You can lead the way to the street."

Kahlen 
Kahlen nodded and went to unlock the back gate. "So... who is this friend?"

"Um..." Auberon followed her. "A friend... I dunno, what do you mean?"

Kahlen 
Kahlen shrugged. "No idea."

Auberon
"That's coomon for you," Auberon teased, though his features didn't show it much. 

Kahlen 
"Too common sometimes." A movement down the street caught her eye. "Oh, no. Quick- we've got to get out of here."

Auberon
"That's also, in fact, common for you..." Auberon really had no energy to be 'quick', so he didn't rezlly make much effort to be quick, which partially made him feel guilty.

Kahlen 
Kahlen didn't risk glancing back until they were almost around the corner. "It was the neighbors. Did I ever tell you about the time I, um, turned the sprinklers on this one guy...?

Auberon
"You mentioned it," Auberon mumbled, dozing while walking, which surprisingly was very common for him. He managed to find the main street, almost running into a post, though he just made a random gigglish/drunk noise about it and pressed the crosswalk button.

Kahlen 
"Yeah, apparently they haven't forgotten. It was spectacular. Anyway, how many nights in a row have you not slept? You shouldn't follow my sleep schedule, y'know. It's not exactly medically approved or technically possible."

Auberon
"Well, technically one, but I was running all night." Auberon flinched when he heaed a siren far off.
