Tim slowed at the crosswalk as cars zoomed by, waiting not for the light to say to walk but for a break in traffic. Em was still just a tad behind and took the opportunity to catch up. She looked back at Mason and grinned. "Awesome! We're going to watch a movie I think, unless we come up with something better to do." Em glanced up at Tim. "Can Louis hang out with us for a bit after I pick him up?" Tim nodded. "Sure. The little man's welcome anytime." "Thanks." Em bit her lip and watched the cars. Traffic was a little busy right now. I can't hide it from him for forever. He's going to be upset, though. 

Auberon
Auberon woke up, his ears now ringing and his body protesting the action of rest. It all confused him; as he was sleep deprived and probably needed the sleep, he didn't understand why he felt so terrible when he did so. He threw his headphones over at his backpack, sitting up and rubbing his face tiredly. After his brain reminded him he had to have dinner with Kahlen and her f a m i l y, he stood up and grabbed his backpack, stuffing his headphones into it and swinging it on. He trudged awkwardly (not yet awake fully) to a store near the park, going into it and (not at all suspiciosly) going into the bathroom to change. Once he was done and actually awake (woohoo) he headed towards Kahlen's place, reaching it and knocking on the door. Ah crap, I never prepared myself for social interactions... perfect. I'm not too early at all.

Kahlen
Kahlen was sitting on the couch, doing her homework when there was a knock on the door. She vaulted over the back of the couch, practically shouting "I've got it!" and almost slipping on the hardwood floor to beat her aunt to the door. Kahlen opened it, pulse racing from her mad dash. "Hi," she said breathlessly.

Auberon
Auberon flinched when the door opened, his brain now protesting against Kahlen's physical state. He stared at her for a moment before saying, "I didn't actually think you liked me that much."

Kahlen
"You'd be surprised how fast- how fast I have to be to beat her to the door," Kahlen said, nodding at Aunt Claire, who was brushing the flour from her hands on her apron. "Ah! Auberon, we've heard so much about you!" the woman said with a noticeable French accent. "Come in, dear."

Auberon
Auberon bit his lip, not noticeably showing he was kind of scared of this aunt Kahlen had. He flung the feeling to the back of his brain, stepping inside and standing by Kahlen stiffly. "I don't have to like... know anything about anything else that has to do with France do I?" he asked Kahlen quietly.

Kahlen
"No, you're fine," Kahlen said quietly. "Want a sugar cookie?"

Auberon
"...what?" Auberon looked over at Kahlen, tilting his head at himself slightly. "My brain was preoccupied... I didn't hear what you said."

Kahlen 
"You'll be okay. Do you want a sugar cookie?" Kahlen knew her aunt could be a bit much for some people, and first introductions were a bit nerve-wracking. 

Auberon
"I guess," Auberon mumbled, inhaling and exhaling heavily. "I don't um... do well- with adults... by the way."

Kahlen
"No problem. She won't bite. She will, however, attempt to send you home with more treats than you know what to do with. Here- these just came out of the oven." Kahlen passed him the plate of cookies.

Auberon
Auberon took one, examining it momentarily before taking a bite from it. His stomach also protested that, although at this point he decided to just ignore it. He nodded quietly and stared at the ground blankly (obviously thinking).

Mason
 He tossed his (pretty much wasted, thanks to Em interrupting his peace) cigarette onto the concrete, huffing. "You're gonna watch a movie? That's lame. Why can't we do something fun and likely illegal, like... I dunno, why can't we?"

"I'm down for that," Tim replied, grinning. Em shrugged. "I don't mind fun, but I'd rather not break any laws. I don't want that on my record." Tim saw a break in traffic and stepped across the street. Em did the same, jogging a little. Tim laughed when she caught up to him on the other side. "You just broke a law." "What?" "Jaywalking. It's illegal." 

Mason
 He looked up at Tim once he joined them on the other side, head cocked to the side, a twisted grin decorating his face. "Jaywalking, huh? Didn't know you had it in you."
