Kahlen 
"Trust me, it makes sense," Kahlen muttered under her breath as she copied down the notes.

Ezhno
He didn't even bother to take notes. He could get a good grade in this class without even trying. "So what's up with my aura? I find that a fascinating concept to study." Having been raised with an academic focus, Ezhno often pursued topics he found interesting and learned as much as he could about them. However, the things he wasn't interested in... He didn't put any effort into. Which is why he got such low (for him) grades the previous year. A lot of classes were a bore to him.

Kahlen 
Kahlen started in French (as that was the language she took notes in), but stopped and repeated it again in English. "Everyone has one. I can detect them. But I couldn't find you if you weren't a demigod. Simple."

Ezhno
"Interesting. So what about mine is different? You commented on it being more than just my parenthood, which would be the reason for my aura, no? Or is the aura more than just who your parents are?" 

Kahlen 
"All mortals have one, but it's weaker than ours. Yours, though, would be undetectable, essentially making you invisible," Kahlen muttered, getting slightly annoyed.

Ezhno
Oh, that's what she meant. "Huh. So I have a weaker aura than what's typical?" Man, it would have been cool to inherit a skill like that from your parents. Much cooler than making people sad and bad things happen, at least. Being able to feel people's auras would be useful, too.

Auberon
Auberon finally just focused on Ezhno, half glaring, half staring curiously at the boy.

Kahlen 
"Technically, you should be dead. But I don't make the rules, unfortunately."

Ezhno
He paused, staring at the wood grain of his desk. "Do you mean that literally?" Ezhno finally asked, glancing upward. His tone was not afraid, but even more intrigued. 

Kahlen 
Kahlen nodded, then returned her focus to the lesson.

Ezhno
Well, this really was interesting. Honestly, Ezhno was happy something abnormal had finally broken up the monotony of his life. "Forget the math class. If you need caught up I already took this class last year and practically aced it. Explain." 

Kahlen 
"Did you just insult my ability to multitask?" Kahlen muttered, pointedly ignoring Ezhno for a full five minutes and still translating the notes into French.

Auberon
Auberon had started taking notes, but upon hearing Kahlen's reply, he placed his head on his notebook and started silently laughing. 

Ezhno
"Really? How childish," Ezhno muttered under his breath, letting his chair fall back onto all fours. He doubted he'd be able to find the answers to his questions online. And there was no way his father would condone this discussion if he was nearby or heard about it. After a moment he reached over and grabbed her notebook from her desk.
