Shane
"I have an older sister..." Shane mumbled. 

Mari 
Mari accepted the hand warmers gratefully, following the conversation. His sister has leukemia. 

Quincy 
He didn't reply, watching as yet another little girl found the playground. Unlike the first, it shared no resemblance to Rosie. But the older figure who played with her was definitely her brother. 

Shane
Shane glanced around, flinching slightly as Teddy crawled back onto his lap.

Quincy
He dragged his eyes away. Regrets won't change facts. Quinn studied the sky a moment. "Don't you guys have school?" He finally broke the silence with a curious inquiry.

Shane
Shane was quiet for a moment, thinking about the question. "I was just going to skip it today..." he admitted.

Quincy
He shrugged. "No judgement here. If I had to be cooped up like that all day I probably wouldn't even show up."

Shane
Shane smiled. "Well I'm glad someone understands," he murmured, stroking Teddy's head. 

Quincy
"You should look into homeschooling or cyber school. I do the latter. It means I have a lot more time to do what I need to do."

Shane
Shane sighed. "I don't have a job, and with money being tight back home- I'd hate to ask my mom if she could find money to pay for that," he said quietly. "I know it's not very expensive, but it still is more than I would ask of her."

Quincy 
"It's free," Quinn said bluntly. "They provide you with a laptop and a printer, too. At least, for cyber school. Homeschooling is probably more costly."

Shane
Shane bit his lip. He didn't want to say the truth of why he would never consider those options-he doubted anyone would understand. But he didn't know what else to say. "I-um... it gives me too much room to think..."

Quincy 
He was about to make a sarcastic reply but chose not to based on Shane's expression. Quinn ended up not saying anything at all at first, shrugging. "Stick with a traditional school, then." 

Shane
He nodded solemnly, looking down at his cat for some mental support.

Quincy 
He slid to the ground next to Shane, propping an elbow on the other dude's shoulder [Shane was taller than Quinn, but that fact didn't matter]. "Well, now that we're all acquaintances, you wouldn't mind telling me where the valuables in your houses are located." His signature cruel, lazy grin flashed at the two.
